We picked cherry sized plums for the chickens to eat. No thorns on those and dgd loves to get on the ladder.

One of the new layers has decided to sit and is on one of the pullet eggs today. Dgd fed the chickens while we were outside too. I "watered the poop" dispersing it in to the lawn making for an alternative to weed n feed here.

Dd wanted me to take and pick up dgson from summer school on Thurs. and BabyN. will be dropped off here at that time slot so  I suggested his did pick him up, dd was wondering why she had not thought of that.

Snack time now dgd was used to the other kind of fruit snacks but I was able to convince her these were good even better b/c we'd had them before. Sheesh snacks are snacks I thought!

Yay! Kathryn is home! So, they're still planning on doing a procedure (GB removal?) in the future? So, you'll need to go back in eventually?

((CathyS)) Glad your ddad was sweet to you. That is a lot of rain!

Maia is home too! :) The vet who took over the morning shift has a slightly different approach. She took Maia off O2 for 2 hours this morning, and she was able to maintain over 90% O2 levels, which this vet thought was reasonable. So, she called and said they're not doing anything at the emergency clinic that we can't do at home -- watching closely for signs of distressed breathing, keeping her quiet, giving her pain meds. Besides, I could hear Maia barking nonstop in the background, and I wonder if that wasn't part of why the vet called to have me bring Maia home. She probably is resting better here; she hasn't done much more than sleep since she got home.

I'm making final edits to my application. Now, I need to edit the latest version of my resume, which dh sent to me yesterday -- but I don't seem to be able to do that on my computer, even though I have the document in my files. There's always something going wrong with this process, it seems.

Book club last night was apparently pretty traumatic as a new woman showed up, a friend S2 and I know from moms group. She was overbearing, opinionated, and apparently dominated the conversation, like did 70 -80% of the talking, and shared at what was deemed an inappropriate personal level for her lack of intimacy with this group. S2 called me last night to debrief and friend B called me this morning. It sounds like this woman doesn't have good boundaries at all, and this was not helpful for B who is going through a hard time anyway. S2 invited her to join the book club; I politely seconded the invitation in public but wasn't sure it would be a good fit. She can be dominant at church moms group, but she did improve over the year too. We'll see what happens with the book club now. . . .It was not good.

I'm off to try to get some things done around here. I need to send off some emails confirming meetings tomorrow. Then, I need to give Maia her pain meds and finish the a.m. routine!!

Morning y'all

All my morning routines are done including a swim for Willis and then a 13 lap swim for me...up and back counts as one. All this before 8:00

I had a dr's appointment set for 9:45 this morning. Unfortunately I got a call saying my PA wasn't coming in because of a sick child. I've been waiting for this appointment for several weeks now and was bummed out. I have been rescheduled to see a ifferent PA for tomorrow morning. My test results have finally come back showing that my testosterone level is extremely low. perhaps an answer to my problems...one can only hope. Anyway I need more information about how it is effecting me than what I can google.

In the meantime I have a hair appointment for later this afternoon. Yesterday I was down all day with a migraine so I am pushing my plans for yesterday on to today.

Harriet...I am dittoing Lucylee's suggestion about using DD32 as a buffer for yourself. After all you are a Souther Lady and can legally set claims of being indisposed for a while. You are such a caretaker to all in your life...now is the time to be a care taker of yourself. Let others who love you help.

CathyS... so glad you could come away from your dad's visit with at least a small pleasant memory. Good for you ....

Ooohhh Helia...I am sending you ooodles of hugs. I know I would need them. ;)

Whoops! I thought I joined on the 9th but I just looked and it was the 10th.

As I was getting ready I noticed that the 2 buttons on the dressy denim capris that I planned to wear, were very loose. So I took the time to redo them. That set me behind. We are in an elevated area today for thunderstorms, so I don't think I will make it to all 7 places today. There is always tomorrow.

I need to cuop.

Hello everyone.

Hugs for (Harriet) as you get through this time.
helia, so sorry about Maia. Glad she is doing ok. How is the cat's eye?
Kathryn, must be good to be home. Ever think you just did too much on the trip?
OKay, BWTG getting your tax info delivered.

Well, I've been busy for a few hours at my desk, getting everything caught up. Statements to pay, copies and files to organize, big stack of stuff done and out to the mailbox. Feel very relieved now that's all done.

House isn't the best it's been, but I'm getting it caught up little by little.

Dh and I have both been doing some tidying. I cleaned the bathroom. I wish I had done it a bit sooner. Yuck.

There is a pile of laundry to do. Maybe later. (Really.)

The bed is covered in stuff that had been all over the place. It's a king size bed. Uh oh. Clean laundry, books, back pack from work, stuff from off of the floor from in front of the closet...
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

No, Harmony, too much on the trip would exhaust me, maybe cause aching but not likely trigger pancreatitis. Eating a McD double cheeseburger was too much grease for my system to manage. My body said it had to release bile and that triggered the stones that are still in my system to respond as if I still had a gall bladder and one of them plugged the duct. I had eaten burgers on several occasions since the operation but they were bbq'd and so the grease had burned away and my system wasn't upset.

Helia, the gall bladder left in June. What I'm dealing with now is random stones. One caused a second bout of pancreatitis and was passed on my own (just like my attack in June.) The second one is in my cystic duct which runs from the gall bladder (not in my case) to the common bile duct. Bile runs from the gall bladder, where it is stored, to the digestive system via this duct. Except I don't have the gall bladder so the stone in the duct should not be causing trouble. Except that I feel lousy so it must be or something else, that is not showing up on the MRI or the CT scan is causing trouble.

As I understand it, this stone is well tucked away and is not reachable using an ERCP. Near as I can fathom, the only way to get the stone out is to open me up completely. But technically, it shouldn't be causing trouble, so I'd hate for them to open me up, remove the stone, and me still have the pain.

The pain at this point is manageable. The vomiting and pain last Wednesday were not.

For now, I'll concentrate on rebuilding my nutrition and getting strength back, while keeping the pain under control. I'm taking way too many of the Dilaudids (narc) so I'm hoping I can cut those back. It is hard at this point to separate hunger pains from indigestion pains, from back pain due to lying around, from pancreatitis pain. Maybe at home I'll be able to isolate the different pains, solve the ones that can be solved without meds and cut back the meds for the pancreatitis.

Started a load of laundry. I'm glad I went upstairs because I found out the windows are opened up there and the bedroom level is stifling. Plus dh hadn't unpacked us from the trip (one small bag for the two of us) so that was in my way. I've got the first load of hospital and trip clothes on in the washer. Ds did two loads today too so I don't want to think what our electricity consumption will be today. My heating pad cover is my first load so I can get that back on tonight. (That's an example of something that solves pain without meds.)

Well I'm bummed. I understand the reason behind it but I DON'T LIKE IT. We just received letter from our family doctor (has treated 4 generations of our family) stating as of July 1st, he will not be managing his patients if/when we are admitted to the hospital. Instead, while we are in the hospital our health care will be managed by a hospitalist. HURRRUMPH! Drat. This is a better choice than our family doc totally retiring, however I am not confident trusting an unknown doctor to direct our health care if we are ever put in the hospital. I did a little research and it looks like several hospitals now have a doctor totally devoted to overseeing & managing all patients on entire floor.

I remember our first doctor making house calls................... Times are a changing

Hi everyone! I got some things on my list for last night completed: I have called the vet and the lawyer and have ordered meds. The rest of the list, I chucked in favor of going to a friend's house for wine and company. I also helped move a chicken coop and build another. My friend asked me if I wanted the old coop. I reminded her that I could not be paid enough to keep chickens. Hers are so mean and attack me that I am somewhat afraid to go into her yard. One of them left a scar on my leg. The work on my car is almost complete. They said it would be ready at 2:00 but I have not heard from them.

Normally, tonight would be Girls' Night Out with DD11, but she is still in Alabama at Camp Grandma. Instead, I will be going to a deli for a knit/crochet group to work on her baby golden dragon. I have to redo one of the arms, they don't match. The maids are coming tomorrow and I have some prep work to be done.

Change that! As I was typing this, I got the word that the car is done! Here is my list for tonight after crochet:
Check the following to see if anything needs to be put away for maid prep
kitchen
LR (especially clean off sofa)
MBR
master bath
find out if there is an animal org meeting tomorrow
find out if there is a church meeting tomorrow
