Thursday Choices

Power in every choice

Whatever fills your awareness most intensely is what you will bring to life. Instead of filling your awareness with excuses, fill it with passion.

With your moments, your skills, your words and your actions you will change your world today. Choose to let that change be driven by what you love rather than by what you fear.

Focus on the good things, on the possibilities, and on those dreams and values that are your most authentic. Make yourself the living embodiment of the best you can imagine.

Your life is constantly shaped by the way you live it, the way you think of it and the way you feel it. Even the smallest things have an influence, and all those things combine together to build the life you experience.

Every day is an opportunity to more fully express the unique beauty of who you are. Every situation is one in which you can choose to give rich substance and meaning to your world.

Feel the power that exists in every choice, and in every moment. Use that power wisely and purposefully, and live life at its best.

Good Morning

This morning I was able to finish up both DGS's August birthday shopping and have the gifts on their way. I'm thrilled to have that done AND relieved because I have been know to wait until THE NIGHT BEFORE their birthdays to start shopping. I had other flashbacks when buying Mr 7 year old gift - a Polaroid camera! I remember using those with instant film but didn't know they made them anymore. With all the digital camera available I was surprised to find this analog camera is a hot item on the wish list of 7 year olds.

I'm preparing PODA and looking forward to the possibilities.

I'm taking DMom for Echocardiogram test today. DH has 2 medical stops (shots) of his own and will take LO with him. If things work out, I might have a couple hours to myself this morning which I intend to use to blast through processing as many of the pending papers as I can.

I am awake and enjoying a breeze coming through the window. The humidity is gone for now.

Slept okay except for ptsd of being poked by nurses which woke me at 2. That lasted about a week last time.

No idea what today will hold. Still have to decide about Toronto. Although I can wait until tomorrow to decide. I am strong enough to go but I am not sure it is a good idea. If we go we'll drive halfway tomorrow and then the rest of the way on Saturday. Then back to the hotel after the party.

Full day today. I'l be out and about from 9-ish to 1-ish: teaching team meeting in neighboring village and then the groc. store for items for dd15's bday celebration, which we're finally doing tonight! Her real bday was about 1.5 months ago. Dh will take my car once I'm back home, so I'll be grounded at that point. I'm looking forward to that, actually. I plan to do some catch up and cooking this afternoon. Dd15 has basically requested Thanksgiving dinner for her bday dinner, which is easy to make. Thankfully, the day feels cooler as I'll need to have the oven on for hours with the turkey. Chocolate souffle is her requested dessert. S and R should be joining us.

Dfriend A came by last night. After dinner, ds, dh, and myself went to see The Lone Ranger. It was a fun movie, quite entertaining.

Twins, Maia sends Macs a sloppy puppy thank you kiss back! :) Macs is your black lab in PT therapy, right?

Funny that Kathryn and Maia and Macs (or is it Moes?) are on same and related pain meds. Kathryn - are you at home? Did the nurse come by at 2 a.m.? Or are you back in the hospital?

I am s2s, have seen ds off -- and now I need to do a little prep for meeting this a.m.

I'm up and have meds & breakfast -that's it. Not even s2s yet and it's 9:15. Catching up with me I'm afraid.

Dfamily was all here to somewhat celebrate dgs1's birthday. Having a party on the 21st.

Need to start my day, albeit LATE, and at least get dressed before someone stops by.

I don't need to go anywhere today so I am declaring Apron Day. :D

Lots of little chores to catch up. Seems like a good day to pull out the physical cards for accountability.

Aprons would be a very nice way to honor Harriet too, Bookie. She's our apron queen after all. Perhaps if I donned mine I'd feel more like doing SOMETHING! I am a slug today. Read from about 3-4:30 this morning.

Dh is feeling better this morning -this is his pattern, have a couple bad days & then perhaps 1/2-1 good. When he feels better I fear he overdoes trying to gain momentum. BP & heart rate both pretty good this morning.

DGS8 hasn't been getting up very early so it's rather late before dd heads over this way. Everyone went home last night when extreme wind gusts started through here. But the storm itself missed us. You're right, Kathryn -much cooler and DRYER this morning. Doors are open here too.

I finally got yesterday's blog posted. I was having trouble transferring pictures from smart phone to computer so I could upload them. I was working off campground wifi and it wasn't cooperating. This morning I transferred back to Verizon's 4G and all was well.

Today is clean the rig day. I need to especially clean the kitchen and bathroom and the sheets need to be washed. A good vacuuming would be a good thing.

First up tho, is breakfast. TTFN

THURSDAY CHOICES

Post by DeeClutter »

I "resemble" your whole statement about cleaning the 'rig', MT. This whole RV needs a really good cleaning! Today I guess I'll settle for 'deep' cleaning the island counter. The curved part of the counter seems to be my one big 'hot spot'. Dh being here most of every day does not help that -as I'm sure most of you would agree. :?

Helia: I'm at home. It will take about a week for the post-traumatic stress of the hospital stay to completely leave me, especially at night. Last night I dreamed I was being bothered by nurses, then I was in pain and no-one was coming and finally woke up to realize I was in pain and in charge of taking my own meds (which I had laid out beside me before bed.)

I've had a quiet morning. Unloaded the dishwasher. Made the bed. Ran a load of laundry. Went for a walk. Hung out the laundry and will run an errand in a few minutes (dh has to drive me, though.) Have broken into a sweat and am not sure if it is me or the weather. It isn't very hot outside (under 80 and breezy) so maybe it was too much exertion.
