Saturday Celebration

Hi Everyone! It is a quiet day here for dh and me. Dgkids have gone with their other dgpa for the day. He picked them up after he got off work last evening and was taking them tubing on a spring-fed river about 2 hours north of us today. They will be back home sometime tomorrow.

Kathryn, I'm sorry your holiday isn't going quite as planned. It is disappointing when a hotel room isn't what was expected. Hope the rest of your visit with family is good!

Nancy, I'm glad you're ok after your low BS reading. It's nice to hear your pullets are now producing eggs.

Dee, is your dh's cough due to a cold or to his condition? Hope his blood pressure is getting better. How nice that you all got to see a new alpaca baby!

OKay, pancakes and bacon with chocolate milk sounds like a perfect breakfast!

I've used this morning to catch up on housework chores. I've remade beds with fresh linens, just need to transfer lol from washer to dryer.

Harmony, I'm sorry you are still not feeling better. Would a different form of the medicine help?

It has started raining again...our second storm of the day. Dgd15 just texted dh saying that they are on the river with lightning and thunder all around them! Sure hope they can find some shelter soon.

I'm always behind; I've gotten so used to it. I have no idea what I would do if I ever found myself caught up with everything! Maybe I'm even secretly afraid of getting caught up with everything. . .

I was dizzy and nauseous this morning, enough so that I sent dfriend B and her ds out w/ ds to grab some lunch and bring it back here so I wouldn't have to go out. I'm feeling better now, feeling rather hungry, actually, which is not helpful as I want to stick to WW points today.

Meeting went fine; we ironed out some details and both boys have a phone call to make in the next couple weeks.

I've done a couple emails, including a couple questions to dfriend S so I can get started on the shower invitations.

My a.m. routine is done.

Next for me:
- switch laundry
- errands: buy hay for g. pigs and baby shower invitations; dfriend B and I decided just to do the hand written sort. We thought about evites too, but B likes something in the hand.

Helia - I hope you are feeling better soon. When I read your symptoms, I immediately thought......I wonder if she is PG?

Alrighty! We are going to have to form a single file line of all the things breaking and needing repaired/replaced. One at a time please. Giving my best ***don't give me any grief*** look toward the Foamy brush motor/pump, stove, HWH, computer, ice maker..... GET IN LINE!

LO is building a massive fort in the living room.....he has used 6 dining room chairs for the structure and covering them with multiple quilts. He is quite busy as he arraigns them all...over and over.

Because HRH and I concentrated on household chores first, my hands are now too shaky to write the Thank-Yous. I did one and stopped, realizing I would not be happy with the results.

We handled all the trash and recyclables from all over the house and got them to the cans.
Then we finished up by cleaning out and rearranging the kitchen cabinets.
I went on with him to the little nearby store for lawn mower gasoline.
He mowed most of the yard
while I continued laundry (2nd load now drying) and put the new insurance cards in the cars.
Then he and I tied up the Big Boy tomato plants with soft rope, run as ladders around multiple stakes.
It was much harder and more tedious than I'd thought it would be.

So now my hands are ~~s~h~a~k~y~~.

((Harmony)) You are always so aware of your surroundings, your routines, your chores. I doubt the Hoarders program people could find anything to do with you. They would just be perplexed. I had to take a 3-hour nap yesterday after a long night's sleep the night before. Tiredness is not overcome quickly.

BookSaver, I kinda understand your dh's feelings about a big party, plus men don't do quite as well with colorful themed parties as women do. I hope you have a great time and enjoy the little girls, too.

Ivy, in the first place, ask your sister to take photos if you don't already have some. Also, consider having the items trucked to you by a company - people do that sort of thing and at least you could find out a ballpark figure on the cost, to ponder.

Sadie, good job on the dailies! Hope your day at work goes smoothly.

Kathryn, HRH says if the odor of mold/mustiness does not assault them right away, and the timing is about 5 days, then there's a good possibility they are ahead of a mold danger that would require masks and safe from that right now. Sewage possibility.... who knows about that, of course. I think it's great that ds met you there - you can take credit for part of his work.

We had gotten all the recyclables and trash into the truck bed along with the 5-gal gas can. I stayed behind giving Sammie a little treat as HRH drove off.

I was befuddled to hear him coming back. He was backing up the driveway, beeping the horn. He rolled down the window and called to me.

"Get in here! There's no reason we can't go somewhere together!"

So I abandoned the treats to Sammie and hopped in with him and we had an outing together to pump gasoline into a 5-gal can at the little store. He bought me an ice cream bar out of their chest freezer. We are such a romantic couple!

AH!! HRH - thank you for thinking about our Harriet!!! You are an alright guy in my book.

Laundry is done and bed is remade but my sweet DH forgot about his agreement to vacuum while I was doing laundry. But he is cooking chicken on the grill for my supper.

Romance isn't what certain card companies would like everyone to think.

Mike took me to a Denny's for an early dinner yesterday and we flirted outrageously with each other. It was totally romantic and loving and private jokes were "possibly" exchanged and we had a blast while being almost totally quiet. Because dh and I no longer wear our wedding rings the server had no idea we have been together almost 20 years. It could have been a first date. Especially when dh remarked something about me coming back to his place for a few hours and I asked him where it was as the waitress was clearing our table. She even asked if it was 2 bills and dh piped up and said that he would pay for both and then asked me if I minded.

My celebration was that I had a very good, long sleep last night. I am not going out of the house for anything today. My brother is going to see my dad in the hospital instead of my sister or myself. That's quite alright with me.

Aww, HRH, so thoughtful. Just one of the upsides of this part of life. Do enjoy your time together doing those little things that we sometimes forget.

My celebration is that we stopped off to see the new baby Alpaca on our way back from Batavia. She wasn't there -they'd taken her to the vet for initial check up. We talked to the owner for a few and then they were back. Celebrating that I got to name her. She is now called "Blackberry Star". We were eating blackberry cobbler (picked fresh here) and she is black and as we ate I casually said I thought that would be a good name. When we were there today I asked if they'd named her. He said, "We're open to suggestions". They added "Star" as her Grandmother's name. Calling her "Berry" for short. They're so interesting!

Alpaca farm owners want dgs8 to come out today and get his picture taken with the baby so they can put their picture on their wall. He'll love it. As it is he's got his picture with one of the Philadelphia lacrosse players on that T witter page. This player gave him his stick after one of their games against our city and dgs had to sleep with it.

Ha ha, OK! No, that is not the cause of earlier dizziness and nausea. Dh took care of that possibility when dd15 was 6 months old; with our track record, we felt the chances of another "unplanned" child or two were too high. .. (One of ours was not our initial "plan.") With 3 kids ages 4 and under, I just didn't feel up for another. Anyhow, I felt this way a bit yesterday too and know I have been experiencing some sinus pressure and occasional earache, so I think I just have a head infection that probably got to my inner ear.

Love hearing of the celebrations happening today! HRH has his priorities straight. Dh and I will go run errands together from time to time just to get time to talk with each other.
