Lisa B. Congratulations on the seller accepting your offer. I hope the rest of the home buying experience goes very smoothly for you.

BookSaver, I totally agree with you about not going on vacation with dd2 and family. I couldn't believe that dh even for one minute considered it. The kids drive him crazy, especially the 2 boys.

lucylee, is the telephone table an Ethan Allen brand? If it is, it will be stamped on the bottom of the seat. I love those and see them on eBay all the time.

Nancy, how is Stewie?

helia, my dh took a motorcycle trip thru Glacier National Park a few years ago. He got some great pictures and had a great time on the trip. This will be another wonderful trip for your family to store in their favorite memories.

Twins, as fast as time is flying, your term will be over before we know it.

Dee, is your dh feeling better for a longer period of time? I sure hope so.

Ivy, I am hoping that your dhs pickup will be an easy and cheap fix.

MT, I am enjoying your summer travels. Great pictures and descriptions of activities, sights, etc.

Okay, I am so glad to hear that your dm is getting more settled.

Kathryn, I hope your improvement continues. Have you lost any more weight?

Sunny, I am sure that you and the grandchildren filled your memory banks also. Loved hearing about all the activities you did while they were there.

Harmony, I am hoping that you are feeling well and just too busy to drop by today.

lynlee, congratulations on the new granddaughter. I hope you have a great trip while meeting your newest loved one.

cowinkie, I am glad that you will be able to check in, while visiting your dm.

I just noticed that the sun is shining, so I better head out to do errands................

Hello Dear Ladies,

Another nice day here, not too hot. Had some rain in the night.

Still whittling down my weeklies. I have 8 left to do and one of those is not for me to do, but to remind someone of something. So really only 7. I might clean the fridge while I make dinner which would leave 6, do three a day and I'll have them done by Thursday night. :D

Got an e-mail from Dcousin Norma. Actually I got it 3 weeks ago but just found it today when I was paring down my e-mails. She said in her e-mail she had just found my e-mail from several weeks prior to that when she cleaned out her e-mail. Maybe we should go back to snail mail, it might be faster.

Harriet, I worked for a newspaper also many years ago for just a few months. Have to agree about the ads taking priority, finding stories to fill the space, and then do it all over again. Really felt like a crazy stressful treadmill.

Think I will reward myself with read for a little while before starting dinner. Still trying to get through the Mark Twain Book.

Great day to all!

Also had to call landline phone company.

I hate this company and tell them on the phone that I will dance in the street when they go out of business.

Anyway, called because our bill went up even though we have done nothing different. Rep said it is a tax for long distance calls, :?: We have cell phone so don't even use the landline for long distance. The only thing we use is internet and incoming calls for DH's business which he has forwarded to his cell phone.

So we get charged taxes on something we don't need, don't use, don't want.

Spent a few moments here and there doing some dusting today. Not much to do other than that.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Rapid fire order of events today - I could use some calm.

call from the mother of the little handicapped girl suggesting dd14 spend time with her older daughter (dd14's friend), and have a sleepover. At first I said no, then thought perhaps since it was a short visit and they were so hopeful... ... not wanting the summer to wane without enjoyment. Before I could take her to meet the mother, phone calls and a "1-800 flowers" delivery. But I got her there approximately on time, mailed 4 more thank-you notes, went across the road to Home Dept to search paint samples in case we redo my ddad's room, then on the way home saw so many cars at church.

Hmmm..... down the road realized that must be funeral for the young man my own age. Turned around and made the graveside service (still dressed in clothes to meet the editor, I looked okay). Got home and surprise ... dd14 standing here. She had changed her mind and asked to be taken home, just feeling we were too busy around here for her to leave.

Sigh. I feel like I've been around the bend for very little accomplishment.

Sadie, I am sure you are enjoying the relief from the heat and some rain. Grrr in reference to your phone company issue.

CathyS, I was sorry to read about your dads cancer. I am so glad that you are posting here, more often.

Ran my errands and kept getting sprinkled on. Then we had a 10 minute gully washer after I got home. There are chances for more rain this evening and overnight.

I checked out the bikes while at WM. The baskets are very small, maybe a gallon of milk would fit. I wouldn't be using it except to carry diabetic supplies, so it would work. The tires are a lot thicker than the bikes with gears. They even have retro looking bikes with gears. I am just wanting a bike without thin tires and gears that can mess up. I am just going to be riding around here not steep hills or anything. All of the bikes are very colorful.

Harriet, I think you have such a special dd14, who knows she still needs the security of mom and dad, as you all adjust to this new normal.

Sending lots of calming thoughts your way, Harriet. (((HUGS))) Dd14 is so sweet, and so mature for her age!

Well, I have accomplished next to nothing.
DH & I walked 3 miles.
I called the L ife A lert people for info for dmil (and possibly, dmom). DH called dmil to let her know about dcousin, and dmil fell getting to the phone! Says she is fine but will most likely have a black eye. * sigh *
Got good news from nursing home re: daunt's doctor bill -- doctor will refile w/additional M edicaid info, all should be well.
Got * semi-good * news from allergy doctor. Nurse told me she will be working somewhere, for some allergist who will continue care in same way as this one, and if I want to be referred to him, it should be possible. I still have to go sign a records release form or something. Will probably do that tomorrow or Friday.
Now... must s2s and get ready to go to nursing home tonight.
Tomorrow is another day.

Haven't accomplished much today. Very bad accident just down the road from us and both our local fire departments involved. DD and I went to town earlier and took a couple of cases of water to the fire house. We've just been waiting to hear names. 2 kids were killed and 3 others ejected. Sadly they had stopped for the stop sign and then proceeded, but a tractor-trailer was coming down the road at 55mph. All 5 are graduates of our local school. We know that intersection all too well and usually crawl a little bit to make sure nothing is coming from the north -very hard to see there. And that's the direction these 5 were coming from. Just now heard the names -not ones I know but am sure they will be known by some here or the first responders. Kids were all coming from a day camp for kids with special needs. The driver who was killed, had a sister who was ejected. Just sad day.
Harriet, I think you have such a special dd14,
You are so right, Lilac. She's a wonderful girl! And feel free to tell her we said so, Harriet.

Dh does seem to feel a little better, Lilac. At least bp and heart rate are seeming to come more in line. The heat right now is zapping him and he's not doing much of anything.

Going to DS-R's to celebrate ddil's birthday. Should be fun and emotional. Ds is giving her 4 tickets to the Green Bay/Bears game on Monday night football in November. So the 2 of them, dgs8 and ddil's dsis. She will be thrilled, I have no doubt. DD has made a barn quilt to go on the side of their shed with Green Bay's colors and a breast cancer ribbon in the middle. Then dsonil made her 1 of a kind wooden birthday card. It's beautiful. What did we give her? Nothing yet -our plan is to give them a gift card for the Garden store so they can plant whatever they want on their new lot.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Too bad she is going to be disappointed when Green Bay loses. Go Bears!!
