Twins, I was sorry to hear that xbil is not holding up his end of the bargain. Surprise, surprise, huh? Will you be going to the G rand O le O pry while in N ashville this weekend?

Helia, I hope it is a relaxing lunch, at least.

Went out to mow and it is so humid that the grass is wet, so I am waiting awhile longer.

I repented of last night's social mischief thoughts at about 5 a.m., when I got sick as a puppy from something I ate. That always makes one humble. (smile) In trying to help HRH stick with his vegetarian eating, I had picked up a veggie-burger at Burger King. But because he had already decided on cooking, I'm the one who ended up eating it. I remember the wait at the drive-through was exceptionally long for my order specifically, but it didn't dawn on me until later that it might have been because those burgers are ordered so seldom. Sigh. I'm the only one who got sick, and all the other foods we ate yesterday were shared by all 3 of us. I don't think I've ever been so pale. I thought something was wrong with our lights.

Twins' Mom, I'm so happy to hear about your successor. And that the new neighborhood continues to impress. I hope the work at your sister's house goes well and you feel that you get a lot accomplished.

((Lilac)) That was a tough time for you back then. Glad you handled last night's problem quickly.

Sorry Kathryn had a bad night, too. The heat here is oppressive, and made more difficult because of the level of moisture that has soaked into the ground for so long. Hope the drive is pleasant.

helia, if the language school people actually meet you, it will mean so much more than a resume.

Decision-making - Kathryn's comment about heat's effect on brain power is interesting. Hmmm... ...

Done with that round. Xbil texted me about 45 min ago that one of the two cars was gone yesterday, and that he's waiting on title for the other one.

This time:
-take out kitchen trash
-s2s
-make the bed
-clear kitchen table
-reboot laundry

Hello Dear Ladies,

Humid here!

Laundry, I do the bulk of it on Monday, several loads. Everyone here has a specific day to do their laundry. Mine is Mondays. Sometimes I do a single load on someone's day. But I'm Mom, and I get to do that.

While cooking dinner last night, I cleaned the fridge and then made a grocery list so I have 3 left on my weeklies. One of those is paying bills which I have already done some. Waiting for two to come in and I'll pay those. So that leaves two things on the Weeklies. yay!

((Harriet)) hope you get feeling better.

Great day to all!

Twins - Does your DMom have home health visits?

I've been allllll alone for 2 whole hours. It is soo quiet! I've blazed through dailies and have been deep cleaning. I have another 1.5 hours before picking up LO.

DMom backed her van into DSis car last night. Thankfully no one was hurt. They don't have estimates yet but it is expected to be in the $2-$4k range to do the repairs. This could happen to anyone, so I'm second guessing why my first thought was.....should DMom be driving?

Today is our last day in the 70 & 80's degrees. It has been a pleasant change. The cooler temps are allowing the vegetables (especially tomatoes) to set blooms. When it is hot (100's) they stop blooming, so now the plants are loaded with blossoms. Some of the tomato plants are 7' tall already! Tomorrow we return to the 90's with the 100's on their way so that will make the pepper plants happy. With the rain (2.5") i've started planting fall garden. I am happy happy happy!!

I also purged the refrigerator to take out with the kitchen trash, and called vet so I can pick up dMacs meds and food later.

Basically done with a.m. routine except for supper and I have no idea whether dh will be home or no. May take out some fish later to thaw.

A little less than an hour before I need to leave for body work...
-work on li&t for home builder of stuff to touch up at one year anniversary
-reboot my computer, which is acting stupid
-print blank forms for attorney for will POA for dmom
-assemble/get ready to mail forms that need to go to probate court as 60 day report for dsis (had previously mailed this, they did not receive apparently.)
-phone call to sleep anea doc - getting quite perturbed w their lack of follow up...appt July 1, never heard anything re oximeter readings while asleep, and then left message yesterday)

Don't know how much of this can happen before I take off, but we'll see.

Okay, she had home health care for PT and for "memory issues" follow up but no home health care right now. Will talk to doc Aug 10. I've given up on asking if she's checked her bp (or checking the machine) as she gets confused between BP and blood sugar now.

Good morning, villagers ~
Yes, it is hot hot hot and humidity is pushing the heat index over 100.

DH decided we didn't need to put the a/c unit in the bedroom yet because the forecast says it will cool down at least 10 degrees by the weekend and stay mild next week. It's a real pain to get the thing set right in the window so once it's in, we lose the fan bringing in fresh air.

I'm doing ok so far with fans running, a damp bandanna around my neck, and a glass of ice water constantly to hand. I need to make a Sam's run this afternoon but the a/c in the car works fine.

Today is last-minute prep for sewing day camp that starts tomorrow and runs through Saturday evening. I need to make chicken salad tonight as my contribution to tomorrow's lunch.

Oh, and in all the Emails flying around this morning, a short time ago I received a definite YES from someone willing to take over as president of the sewing group next year. (It was only a tentative yes when I ask her a couple of weeks ago.) :D Now I only have 1 more person to find, the one who schedules our educational programs each month. That's a hard one to recruit, too, but not as hard as president. (And the recruiting should be the job of a nominating committee, but that's another story. :P )

I am going to try NOT to take a nap this afternoon in hope that will help me sleep better tonight.

Harriet ~ For painting DD14's room, what color would she like as background for her art pieces? Would she like 1 wall in a neutral and the others in her favorite color, or 2 neutral walls? Hey, if DS is offering to paint, I say let him! :)

(((Dee))) and community... so tragic.

(((Harriet))) I'm kinda sorry you repented. I thought your thoughts of mischief were quite fun and extremely appropriate for the circumstances! But I'm very sorry you had to be so ill last night in order to repent. Hope today goes better.

So happy for the new baby, Lynlee!

(((OKay's dmom))) Yes -- this could happen to anyone... dbil AND dsisil have each backed into our car on different occasions when we've all been at dmil's. Each time they just hit squarely on the back, no damage to anything except our trailer hitch cover.

(((Kathryn))) Hope you're feeling better soon! Thanks for the explanation re: heat. That explains all my lapses of common sense from at least May-Sept. ;)

(((Lilac))) * whew * That is scary, how bs can jump back & forth so quickly.

Waving to ALL y'all!!! :D

We may walk later today, and may visit dh's cousin in hospital. Otherwise, I don't think I have any plans.
Dfriend's fathers' funeral will be tomorrow.
Friday/Saturday we will have dgs while ds & ddil go to N ashville to celebrate her birthday. (They are going to the G rand O le O pry, and are excited b/c Mel Tillis & Bill Anderson are both there. Wonder how many 21 year olds would say that today, LOL!)

I have done absolutely nothing re: WHB, daily chores, etc. this week. I guess I've got to give myself an attitude adjustment. I not only have the "I've got all day" to do this syndrome; apparently I have the "I've got the rest of my life" syndrome.
Tomorrow is another day.

lucylee, I too have the rest of my life syndrome. Your ds did a great job of picking a wife who shares his love of country music. Real country music like Mel Tillis and Bill Anderson are known for. My dh can really get on a rant about what he calls " bubblegum" music, that is passed off as country music now.

Sadie, it is very humid here and we are known for the dry climate. Last night it was low 70's when we went to bed, but too humid to open windows. I sure hate to run the a/c when it's that cool out but don't want to stress the a/c getting the humidity back out. At least it runs less when it's that cool out.

Harriet, I hope you steadily feel better today. That can really drag you down.
