Re: Friday Fundamentals
As soon as Mike wakes up, I need to strip and re-make the bed as well. He woke up earlier long enough to tell me he went to bed at 5 a.m. He is quite the night owl. Good thing he's retired.

Re: Friday Fundamentals
Good morning for 10 more minutes.
Well, I'll be darned. I stripped and remade our bed yesterday. It was also a task sorely overdue in our household.
Yesterday, I nicely illustrated how out of the loop I can get when i asked about Twins' trip which had happened the previous week. Was it really last week? Time just goes by too quickly. . .
Dgirls and dh are home, so we're back to a full house again. I have a pile of laundry to do before the girls can pack.
My day:
x jog w/ dh - went too late for the heat; got done at 8:25. Again, I sweat buckets
x WW - down 2.2 lbs. A pound of that must have been sweat.
x long email to dfriend re: baby shower and moms group stuff; another email to a dfriend from my grad schools days with whom just reconnected via facebook.
x lunch
Another hot sunny day. a/c is on again. It's been run a lot this week; I ran it nonstop while dh was out of town. He turned it off, opened the windows, and turned on the attic fan last night.
I'm not making much progress on getting ready for our trip. I think I've done all the running around I need to in prep for it, though. And dd15's dfriend can stop by for small animal care!
Next:
- 1 more invite to address; I got the address yesterday
- 1 thank you card to write
- finish a.m. routine
- get laundry going asap!!!
- post office box to put cards in mail
I'm taking the dogs to Tori's house at 2 pm, so they need to be ready to go by then. . .

All of "southern" Ontario is in a tornado watch with warnings and severe thunderstorms. Kathryn the weather network shows the area as going further north than where you are.

♥ HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MRS. & MR. OKAY! ♥
Hi! I'm taking a break to get a bite of lunch. I spent most of the morning doing pick up throughout the house, including the bedrooms. The dgkids have made their beds and we gathered enough dirty clothes to make up a lol...that's in the dryer now. I feel like I am very much behind here with everything. We've been in and out so much these last few weeks I finally decided to just Go With The Flow and do what I can when I can; at least I've been doing the basics. I will have lots of time after next week when dgkids go home.
Dh and dgd15 have gone to W-M for a few groceries etc. Dgs11 is home with me and he has his two buddies to play with - our neighbors across the street. They've gone outside for a while. We've been wanted to go to Busch Gardens with ddil#2 and her two girls, but because of the threat of storms, dentist appts and dgd18 working finding a day free for all of us just wasn't working. Dgd15 has been working on her IB Art Book and wanted to see another museum so Wed. we went to the Salvador Dali Museum. We really enjoyed it. Dali's work was not a favorite of mine, but after seeing it up close I am really impressed with his genius. His early work is much different than later pieces, but it's all very interesting.
Dgd and dh are home again....... Ooh Cathy & Kathryn stay safe.

Re: Friday Fundamentals
CathyS Keeping an eye on it. Our humidex is now 111* but that really isn't representative of how it feels because the formula doesn't include wind and the wind really is making things much more manageable. Straight temperature is 91* which is what it feels like outside.
I just came in from fetching the garbage cans. I figured I should get them inside before the weather turns. At this point it is still sunny and breezy. I'm kind of sorry I didn't run the laundry 90 minutes ago. The load would almost be dry by now (it is the kind of day that things only need 30 - 45 minutes on the line.) But dh convinced me the storms were less than 2 hours away.
I napped for an hour but didn't sleep well, my body has sort of funny muscle spasms that keep me awake (had this with the hepatitis as well and know it will go away eventually.) Set my alarm for 2:10 because ds had a 3 p.m. shift and I hadn't seen him. Turns out he was still asleep at 2:15 when I got downstairs so dh woke him up to confirm he had a shift today. He did and is already out the door to work.
Had my second lunch and should now be finding something to do. Maybe it is time to tackle the front hall closet.

Re: Friday Fundamentals
Closet is done. Tossed some stuff, have a bag of things to donate and a pile to launder before donated.
Took a few minutes to rearrange deck furniture before the winds did it for us.
The temperature is now 72* and feels like 87*, quite the drop since my last post.
It is thundering now. Winds have died down a lot, though. We are still under a tornado watch but it isn't like the watches or warnings in Tornado Alley. Worldwide, Canada gets the second largest number of tornadoes each year, US is #1. But the US still gets about 12x as many as we get and they tend to be more destructive.

Re: Friday Fundamentals
I am feeling so sad. The sister of the boy who died in Tuesday's accident has passed away. So both of this poor Mom's children are gone. Know all the first responders are really feeling and right now am also feeling for ds-A who I know held the Mom at the scene. Praying very hard for the parents of these 2 and the other girl who passed away and the other 2 girls who are badly injured.
Very breezy/windy here too, Kathryn. Know there were some very bad storms/micro bursts, etc. close to here yesterday.
Dh, dd, dgs8 and I went to see "Despicable Me 2" only the movie itself failed to start for at least 20 minutes. Manager brought us all free passes to go to another movie before September. Did get to see this one. We all enjoyed it a lot. Went to T im H Orton's after for drinks. Of course dgs had to have a vanilla cream donut.
DD gave me the rest of their dinner from last night. One of dh's and my favorites. So we'll have that and a couple ears of corn for supper. Sure dh is really tired as one of the workers came to get advice about a few sites having electrical problems. He finally went with him for over an hour. Not sure that he worked any, but just being up and about. As it was his legs were rubber walking from the car to the theater. Picked him & the other 2 up after so he didn't have to walk. So unlike him and so hard I know.
