Good Morning Ladies,

Can you think of something sensational today?

It's my last day of work for me, so that's sensational.

A co-worker informed yesterday that the insurance DH has will be ending this year. A bit worried about that. Will have to find something else that is affordable for us as it will be the law in 2014 that you have to have it. Plus with DH's problems, he needs insurance. I'm praying it will work out.

Got to help Dbrother with morning stuff. Then off to work.

Good morning, villagers ~

After spending 3 full days in a row with 16 other sewing enthusiasts, I am exhausted. It was mostly fun, and the company was excellent, but I ended up spending a lot more time doing kitchen chores than I expected. Since that has happened more than once at previous events, I think I am now justified in requesting changes to the way meals are organized for these things.

Editing to clarify that the exhaustion is not from doing kitchen chores but from 3 days of social activity, plus I'm keyholder so needed to be on-site from what was supposed to be 9AM to 9PM but ended up being 8:15AM to 10:30PM each day. Plus the commute half an hour each way.
No naps and no purring cats for 3 days in a row!

I have been enjoying cuop.

I slept well last night but not long enough. I foresee a nice long nap later this morning.

My good old printer finally died Wednesday night. Poor old thing, it was a good work horse for over a dozen years. I'm going to ask DH if he wants to go printer shopping with me today. If he has other plans, I'll go tomorrow while he's at work.

In cuop I saw this quote from Lynlee:

I need be in this moment. If I take care of some everyday things today it will help my future whatever that may be, and heaven knows I may change my mind a thousand times if I push for future answers to future issues.

These are extremely wise words!

Harriet ~ Any chance you could send a "corrected" article to church and a few other key people so word would get around that way? Just a friendly little note that the reporter did a great job but he misunderstood what you were trying to say about DDad's very full life. (Maybe you already took care of this if you were able to attend church this morning.)

Successful send off for the minister. It was my first time back in my church since June 2nd. I even sat in the choir because my voice is strong enough to lead singing.

The decovenanting liturgy was well received and the minister credited me with preparing it and dh and I for supplying the bulletins for it. The little presentation speech I gave went well and I did it without notes. Dh was worried I'd blow it so I gave him my written copy and told him to be my prompter if I got lost but didn't need him. Got lots of comments about that as well.

I have to leave in 75 minutes for the retirement home service. Should read through that allowed to make sure I don't stumble over words. And eat lunch. Had to skip the farewell bbq at the minister's house because of this service but there wouldn't be time and I still need to keep a tight rein on what I eat.

Sadie: are you quitting for good or just last day this week? Don't take your co-workers word for the insurance - make a call and find out for yourself. Sometimes things get lost in translation.

The campground is clearing out as people go back to their daily lives. We are just sitting here watching them go as we have another week before we leave.

I finally got dressed so we can open the front curtains and look out. It is like living in a fish bowl when the curtains are open but we get claustrophobic when they are closed.

We have enjoyed a sensational start to our Sunday. Church was excellent. Then we caravan to the lake where baptism service was held. Followed by lunch. Very busy for several hours so we are ready to kick back, relax and get recharged.

Quiet day in the village.

The retirement home service went well. Then we headed to the market village where our church musician was playing at an ice cream social for the local historical society. In total there were 18 people from our church there (out of an average congregation of no more than 30.) We all sat and listened to the music and enjoyed each others company. Everyone but us had come from the bbq so they were just continuing conversations they had started there.

We picked up the first fresh corn of the season and will have dinner in a minute.

We are home from Nashville and had a lovely weekend. On Friday we had a very nice lunch with a biz friend of dh and his wife, not clients but a "wholesaler" who promotes products to the financial advisers. Then afternoon naps, dh met with clients at the hotel and I came down to join them for dinner out. On Sat a.m. we went to the S outhern L iving I dea H ouse near Nashville, then the R yman auditorium tour and very late lunch on Printers Alley. Last night we just walked around in the district for awhile, and this morning we took a little old lady client of dh's (who is a long time member of the temple) to brunch before heading home. I napped once we got home, because was terribly sleepy in the car and couldn't sleep, partly because I didn't have anything over my arms, and partly because satellite radio for dh was too loud.

Worried about my little man Macs. On Friday a.m when I walked him, he was very wound up about the German Shepherd neighbor and his feet went out from under him and we had to stop until he could get up and walk the little distance back home. He had a quiet weekend with ds and still seems shaky - skipping the walk with him tonight as it will be raining soon....

I'm trying to get my act back together to face the week. So much to do and so many emails and stuff to deal with - mostly temple but also dmom and dsis and her house. Dh had a phone message earlier from my dbro asking him to call him. Turns out that dmom had told dbro that my dh had called for him - and dh had not called for dbro so appears dmom is confused on this, not surprisingly.

Ooooh, and a DPC that I will leave for tomorrow a.m. Might as well face all this stuff tomorrow a.m. as tomorrow is a quiet day. After all, tomorrow is another day..

Followed through on my goal to get to church. Took the entire morning, and a lot of planning and mental prep - interesting to me I am not on my game more than this. But just getting back to it, insofar as starting to feel normal, is a success.

We had some visitors later, and that was lovely but tiring. Ultimately I had to nap.

BookSaver, whole books have been written on the subject of minimizing meal preparation time while in the throes of creativity. You have a very valid point.

Yes, at church I was able to tell several people the concerns I had about the article. I was surprised how many had seen it and wanted to mention it to me. It was very well-received and I think I expressed my point to those, but also heard from them that they hadn't noticed anything immodest. One of our musicians who is usually not talkative sought me out to tell me how much he enjoyed the article and wished he could have been at the church during the years in which my ddad attended regularly.

Kathryn, wonderful to hear you sang today. You and dh certainly are a good team, no matter which one of you it is backing the other up on a project.

Emptynester, you need some kind of one-way film for your front window so that you can put that on and feel private while you watch the world!

Twins' Mom I hope Macs feels better. They say the doggie ERs here are facing a lot of heat-related respiratory stuff.

Thank you from Macs, Harriet, but he harassed me until I said I'd walk him down the the empty lot - and then he felt so good we went around the 1/2 circle and he was okay. Dh and I then walked over to the new neighbor's house - she was on the front porch with the brand new baby. Can't imagine moving and then having a baby as quickly as she and her fiance' did. Need to take a meal or something over to her and also to another family who had a death last week.

DH wanted look at computers at Sam's so we went there after lunch. I bought a printer but have not opened the box yet. The new printer is larger than the old one so must clear space before trying to install it. I want to do it tonight because I have a sewing pattern to print. Also some reports, but the pattern is a priority.

Read the newspaper after we got home from Sam's, and then took a 2 hour nap. Since then I've been fact-checking and writing articles for the sewing group newsletter.

The editor wanted to finish the issue tonight because she is leaving the state tomorrow to help her daughter move, and will be away for a couple of days. Unfortunately, we are waiting for a page from someone else, so will have to postpone the final draft until Thursday. That still gives me time to take it to the printer etc. before my own trip at the end of the month, we'll be fine.

DPC to the library group president, and it turned into a non-DPC because she was in a really good mood. We have a meeting first thing in the morning so I can write a check at the post office.

Editor has not sent 2nd draft yet so I have time to start writing a post about my sewing camp for our AC&N thread.
