I know…..mind games are silly. But my head likes them.
They DO help, Okay! :D

That cold front blew in through here too, Kathryn. It's only up to 60 now.

Took dh to his cardiac rehab this morning. Said he had a good work out. Stopped at pharmacy to pick up his Lasix. He only has one more dose, and he thinks it's begun to work. Ankles still swollen however. At least now he has 30 on hand (no refills, MT). At least it's inexpensive so if I need to get a new one it's not a big amount.

Would love to see dd14's room, Harriet! Maybe one of these trips.

Love your thoughts written out, Harriet. Also liked Kathryn's
Actually, I can think of a very good reason why they need to be there. They are a visible reminder of the loss you are feeling. Your life hasn't formed a new 'normal' for you yet and it is reasonable for you to need an affirmation that you haven't quite moved on yet. That's ok, it will come (slowly but it will come) but in the meantime, if seeing the stack reminds you of how loved you are and how loved he was, then leave it there. At some point, my stack started to be an irritant, making me feel sad, not comforted, and at that point it got put away (and just this winter finally got tossed out.)
Seems like this is all very good advice to any who have lost those so dear to them in recent times. Give yourself TIME for that new 'normal'.

Good Morning! :D It's bright and sunny here, saw a doe feeding this a.m., a bird in the bird bath, some squirrels and "my guys" are off in the woods, as soon as they stack a dump truck load of firewood at Dfriend's home. They'll fall a tree today, saw it up, the boys will roll the rounds out of the woods, so they can use the wood-splitter on them, and load the dump truck again. Since it'll be 83* - 85* here (or more), they guys may not stack more wood. Too HOT for them! DH took a bigger cooler because the grsons hydrate so much, while working. Good idea. He takes "G" and bottled water, both.

I showered, d2s, did my QVAR inhaler, my eye ointment, and peak flow meter said 370 this a.m., which is super gr8 for me in the a.m.! I'm so happy about that. :D I'm working on a snail mail letter to a driend, need to gather up trash for garbage day tomorrow.

Have a super-duper day! Waving hello to everybody! :D

Hello Dear Ladies,

The storm Okay spoke about also went through here last night about midnight. Our power just went off and on several times quickly. But Tulsa got knocked out for awhile.

DH is feeling the effects of waiting up through the storm and is resting for a while today.

I'm working on dailies and weeklies. Have added some of the focus work to my weeklies. I'm tweaking it by focusing on the kitchen for two weeks because it is too hot for to do much outside work.

And it is back to work for me. Think I will be working all alone in apparel and that should be interesting.

Great day to all!

Progressing here.

Ended up eating first, then s2s, then scrambled to prepare the bulletin for Sunday, got that almost done and headed over to the church to take the minister out for lunch on her last day as a thank you for all she's done to encourage and train me over the past 4 years.

Got home, finished up the bulletin and now need to email it off.

Then we'll head off to the doctor's office.

Well, I slept ridiculously late  , but since then, I have made progress…
-- Paid two bills,
-- sorted stack of stuff a little better --
-– put dh’s stuff in his stack, LOL
-- put invitation on calendar – dh doesn’t want to rsvp just yet
-- put medical records, etc, in stack w/sympathy cards “to file later”
-- set aside retirement stuff to take care of Friday after new printer is installed (I can do it all online, but I need to be able to print copies for myself)
-- reconciled checkbook/statement and * woo hoo * it balanced the first time! :D
-- discarded old receipts and expired coupons

Thank you so much, Kathryn, for those kind words re: the stack of sympathy cards and misc. stuff related to ddad’s funeral. I guess you are right, and I will know when the time comes to put it away. I remember feeling the same way about dh’s cards when his dad passed away. They lay there forever, it seemed, but I didn’t want to say anything, and one day, I noticed dh had put them away.
Harriet – I must confess – I did not laminate anything myself! I intended to, but dcousin did it faster, and made copies for all of us – at least one per household, I think. She is so sweet. (It is her older sister who has cancer now.) But don’t feel guilty about not doing anything w/your dad’s information! My goodness – you have been waaay too busy and productive getting dd back in her bedroom! That is a much higher priority IMHO!

Wonderful thoughts from Ralph Marsden, OKay. Thanks for sharing. I intend to look at that site everyday. I have it on my favorites… but I forget to look.

Also – I think your mind games are wonderful, OKay! I have found myself trying to count my checkmarks like you count your cards. I NEVER do EVERYTHING on my daily list  (morning/afternoon/bedtime routines) but it makes me feel so good to see progress.
I was trying so hard to keep up w/a checklist for dailies and a check list for weeklies… and then my printer died. 
I think the checklist works better for me than the cards, b/c again – like the stacks – it’s all right there in front of me and I can immediately see what’s done & undone – no shuffling cards, etc. HOWEVER… I tend to get lazy… or distracted by dh… or drawn into a more seemingly-urgent activity… and, for whatever reason, I don’t feel I accomplish a lot. However -- progress is progress… and every little check mark is a small ta-da, isn’t it?

Definitely need to do some tweaking on the weekly list, as Sadie mentioned…

I must say I LOVED MT’s advice to Twins… form a committee made up of all the grumblers. Priceless.
(((Twins)))

And btw – hope you have a quieter night tonight, MT!

Lilac, that is WONDERFUL news from dgs!!! I am so happy for him – and for all of you, b/c I can only imagine how worried you must have been.

Nancy reminded me I have some mending to do…

And ironing. I have gotten so far behind I don’t even want to haul it all to the ironing lady. I am going to try to do a little at a time while watching Downton Abbey. I am ready to start season three, and then I am sure I will go into withdrawal pains waiting on season four to start! I love that show so much!!! I may have to get season one back from dmom and just start over, LOL!

And exercise. Have done NOTHING in that area since last Thursday when dgs arrived, and then after he left, chaos & exhaustion ensued with travel to & from funeral out of town, etc.

So glad dh seems to be feeling better, Dee! I know y’all are ready to get some relief from worries!

Sounds like fun at the Ivy household…

Waving to all!!! Hope the rest of your day goes well!

(This is long b/c I just gave up on my internet and started in Word to begin with!)
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi everyone! I had really good intentions to get stuff done after DD11 left last night. Did I do them? Not as many as I should have. I did get cooking done though, I prepared the cube steak that is now simmering away in my crockpot. I was sort of out of sorts when I dropped off DD at XDH's house. The other woman had painted 'Just Married' all over his truck, Monday night, according to DD. Just in time for me to have to look at it. Maybe that was not the intention, but I would not be surprised if it was. This woman masqueraded as one of my best friends for years. Also out of sorts because I realized that they will be at a good friend's daughter's birthday party soon, as a married couple, among all of our mutual friends. This will be their first appearance as a married couple. Incidentally, they have not told anyone they are married yet, so they will also likely announce it there. I will have to act classy, that is good revenge. I can't help but hope that everyone else cuts them dead. I am also stuck with financial problems while they have done massive amounts of work on what used to be our house (not DIY either) and XDH has told DD11 that he is having trouble affording her physical therapy because I am not contributing. I really do need to get the child support calculations done and filed and start paying. He gave me the paperwork close to a month and a half ago. That is what I will be doing tonight, financial stuff. A very bleak prospect involving transferring money out of savings to cover expenses.

lucylee: I have the same delayed typing problem sometimes. It happens both when posting from home and from work.

Elizabeth -- misery loves company, so I am glad to see I am not the only one with the delayed typing problem! ;)
You are right -- just keep your head up and your classiness (is that a word?) will make their LACK of class all the more obvious. I can't wait to hear about the party. I must admit, I am hoping someone will really put them in their place. The fact that this was supposed to be a friend of yours makes it a thousand times worse, in my opinion. Just hang in there... you know what they say about karma. It'll catch up to them eventually.

I really must s2s... and dh has informed me that our water pressure is mysteriously dropping. * sheesh *

Back from the doctor. I'll live. He's pretty sure my attack on July 14th was the last stone leaving. But he can't be 100% positive that I don't have any more since the first MRI missed two stones. He says that as time goes by I'll start feeling more myself and ready to try other foods that I'm avoiding right now.

I can start exercising again and lifting carefully as I'm comfortable doing so.

Speaking of avoiding - ds and dh will have pizza tonight. I'm having a frozen lasagna and salad.

REALLY need to start downloading some photos. That has been a major procrastination task for me for quite a while now.
