Wednesday Wonders

Post by Kathryn-in-Canada »

I got out of bed before 7 even though I have nothing outside the home to do today.

Will wonders never cease?!

This might be my only wonder of the day so I'm seizing it. What wonders can you accomplish today?

Just finishing up the treadmill. Will do a half physio workout, with ice, since I pushed myself harder today with regards to speed and incline and biked a bit farther as well.

My goal is to recover full knee function. At least this time I know what I need to do, how to do it, and what caused the problem. I couldn't avoid recreating the problem - it comes from lying in bed day after day after day and then not being able to work out while waiting for the hernia surgery to heal. Almost 8 weeks of minimal activity means I have a lot of leg muscle building to do. And a lot of patience to recover.

Still looking for motivation - it has disappeared, as it did after the hepatitis. That might take months to come back since it probably took 6 months last time.

As for confidence in my health... I figure that is gone now for years after this past year has knocked the stuffing out of me twice.

Good Morning

I'm up and going. I stayed up too late last night and didn't sleep well. A nap is a good possiblity today.

DMom called this morning with a good attitude. She is going to clean out DAunt's flower gardens today.

I need to get moving. Daylight's burning.

I'm s2s now.

Also tried my quick costume change for Sunday. I'm considering wearing a formal evening gown while delivering the gospel message (Rich Fool) and the sermon (and I'll stay in it for the remainder of the service.) So I needed to know if I can change from a regular dress to the gown in about 4 - 6 minutes (the time it will take my reader to read the Epistle and lead the psalm.)

I discovered I'll definitely need someone to help with the zipper but can ask someone who sits at the back of the church to help, arranging before church that they come out with me. Luckily, there's a bathroom right next to the sanctuary door. I'll take the gown tomorrow and time myself one more time, this time including the time it takes to walk out of the sanctuary.

I'm having green tea with my chocolate this morning to see if the boost of caffeine helps my productivity. Now that I don't drink Dr. Pepper, I find I really drag all day long.

My wonder of the day is this crazy idea that I can make a cheetah cake for LO birthday. I have tried to get him interested in decorated cakes available at bakeries. We looked through all of their pages of cakes available but he remains firm on what cake he wants. I've never seen a cheetah cake so we looked online in hopes I could find an easy solution. LO picked out this cheetah cake. I'm crazy enough to try making it. The 3D top is baking in the oven now. We shall see.

We saw a turtle under a wooden side walk when I was a kid a snapping turtle folks told us to leave it be that it was heading to find a pond. I like watching turtle man one of the reality shows on the animal net work.

Step #1 of Cheetah Cake Project is completed. 3D cake topping is cooling. so far....so good. Just taking it one step at a time and trying not the think about all the steps that I don't know how to do and just focus on successful outcome.

I don't want turtle or anything else that will bite me in the garden. i am queasy about the toads, but let them stay since they don't bite.....but they scare the dickens out of me when the pop up out of the ground. The lizards and rabbits take off when I get close to them (usually before I even see them). When i find a turtle in garden I put a dot of paint on top of its shell before taking it miles away and turning it loose. I use the paint to identify the turtle because the turtles sometimes return to the garden.

Next up - CFO cards

Great cake, OKay! Quite the challenge. I find cake decorating feeds a creative urge in me (although nowhere near the degree of detail that cake has) so I can understand why you want to take this on, even though I agree it is somewhat crazy for you to do so. We'll hope the MPB doesn't break down and require your attention elsewhere.

I've tidied up the kitchen, including washing up the full dishpan load of dishes that appeared overnight. Also tidied upstairs, got three bags of clothing that had been set aside for donation out of the bedroom and into the back seat of the car. The upstairs is ready for vacuum and dust now (and looks better just getting those piles out of the two bedrooms.) Load of laundry just buzzed so it is time to start hanging things out on the line.

I am dragging today - was up early and took dMoses to vet to have his teeth cleaned today (poor dear, he was so excited to be going out, too. 8-) ) I was up for awhile and then slept another two hours because I felt like I just couldn't get myself awake. It's raining again and my motivation is low and lower.

Going to try to get rolling....
-call about my massage later today and verify time ;)
-call billing dept of dr office re: dd's bill, left message last week and didn't call me back
-start a lol
-take out recycling in the rain
-clear kitchen counters

I grew up camping and I never think twice about a toad or frog or turtle being around. Live and let live. I'm not comfortable with snakes, but generally leave them alone also. Where we lived on the mtn I frequently stopped and moved turtles across the road, just touching at edges of shell.
