TENDING THURSDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

What do you have to 'tend' to today? My first 'tending' has to be getting ready to head out for cardiac rehab with dh.

I'm up and have done just a tad of board housekeeping and now to do all that morning routine. BBL

Since we are heading out of town tomorrow, I have a lot to tend to today.

Yesterday we got 3 1/2 inches of rain in about an hour. Dh had just been home minutes when it started. I seen pictures on FB of water in the river, that has been bone dry for years. Also, there was a lot of street flooding. Dh and I agreed that we had never seen it rain that hard, for that long, since we moved here 31+ years ago.

Dd2 texted dd1 yesterday that they were in a ridiculously long line at the San Diego Zoo waiting to see the panda bears.

I have so much to do that I am wondering if it can all be done in one day, but I will give it the college try.

I suppose I'm tending to my recovery (on treadmill now) and church (I'll be in the office today plus I have to write the sermon and prayers.)

I bought the rub for my tendonitis today. I need tend that before bedtime. My busy day yesterday left me sore today. Hoping things settle down in time.
load of washing went out today, and most is in after a sunny day with a glorious sunset..
shopping was bought and is put away.

Thinking of Dee and Mr Dee today. Praying for solutions to the health concerns.
Wow to Lilac's rain. I hope y'all are safe.

After dd1 and I walked, we went by dd2s shop to see if it had flooded. Dd1 had seen pictures of water over the curb on Main Street. The shop was fine. Then we went out to dd2s house to get the mail and check the house. All was fine. Going to her house we crossed the west river bridge and coming back to town, we crossed the east river bridge. Both sides just looked like mud puddles. I am glad I seen the pictures on FB of water running in the river, because otherwise I would have missed it.

Because of the feedlots out here, when it rains and is then humid, it smells like an outhouse outdoors. Ewww!

Better get with it.

Good Morning

I woke up @ 5am refreshed and ready to get started. I've been busy doing normal daily cards since my feet hit the floor. I consider it a joy to do normal everyday things. I like getting things done. As I baby step my way to being organized, I find each step gives a little more momentum to keep going.

I've decided to focus on healthy habits this month. I'm going to be utilizing fitbit device to capture my sleep and activity minutes. I will be using My Fitness Pal to record food and drinks (converting it into calories, fat, carb, etc values). Utilizing other people brilliant solutions and workflow,I've set up an automated Google doc spreadsheet to reach out and copy all that information and present it to me with an in depth review. I've tested this process and it seems to working perfectly. It is as automated as I can make it so it will be easy to keep up with. I like having the facts presented to me and use it for accountability & motivation.

Next up - CFO cards

Back from dh's cardiac rehab. I did notice today that they use Silver Sneakers -dh and I are both members of that. Have to find out if there's specific classes or if one can come in at any time to use equipment (sure would have to be 'trained' first). At least I might be doing something for myself other than sitting and reading. I can use it as much as he can, I'm sure.

Nurse at rehab is setting up a 1 on 1 appointment with a nutritionist for us. I saw one years ago, but I always can use new tricks. And....having a heart history myself and diabetic, it won't hurt at all. Slowly we're learning new tricks. When dh told the cardiologist the other day that he only puts salt on corn on the cob or cucumbers, Dr. suggested trying pepper. Yesterday I happened to see a jar of lemon pepper and bought it on a whim. Dh and I absolutely love it sprinkled on cucumbers. There's one step. Trying to cut out meats such as hot dogs -hard when you're 'camping'. We're 'living' here but our family 'camps'. And hot dogs are an easy fix on the grill. So, think I'll make up some hamburgers and throw one of those on for dh (or me) when they're cooking dogs. I also want to try a veggie burger. Time we tried new things.

Hello Ladies,

A quick check in and apologies for not posting and reading this week.

No time to currently cuop, for which I am sorry.

Just some good news and that is that we have been granted a home loan.

Now all that's left is for us to finalize things and get the house registered into our names.

Dee: Try some turkey burgers or chicken tenders on the grill. DH and I are starting to like them as much as hot dogs or hamburgers. Our Dr. like them better, too. :D

Cut my hair this morning and took a long hot shower at the shower house across the street. Felt really good. Now DH is for a walk and I have to get dressed. Just throw on sweatshirt and jeans for the shower walk, but need to put "unders" on.

This place is really pretty. A bit noisy now as they are mowing - but will be good after that. Only 30 campsites on this circle.

Think we are going to do a recon run to check out grocery stores and see what there is to see. Only problem is lots of road construction (14 miles) between us and the town. But it won't be so bad in the pick-up vs the MH yesterday.

I met with Rabbi at 8:30 this morning as usual on Thursday a.m. Visited with office manager and discussed several issues. There was a phone book that someone tried to set on fire on our front steps this morning - so I had her file a police report. We get a lot of homeless individuals sleeping on our steps and have issues occasionally with "bodily functions" especially when the summer sun heats the steps up.

Went to P anera for bagels and L owes for Roundup, then grocery and finally back home having lunch. I am going to clean up the mess from where a light fixture in the laundry room fell, and then a short nap.
