Men have it so easy - for casual they can get away with a collared shirt, khaki pants and maybe a sport coat, for dress a suit will do it.
A big AMEN to THAT!!!

Hmmm... according to
http://www.emilypost.com/everyday-manne ... white-tie-
Dressy casual for women would be
•Dress
•skirt and dressy top
•dressy pants outfit
•nice jeans and dressy top

* sigh * I still want to ask dh's cousin what she is wearing. Dmom says in this day & time, she cannot imagine that I would possibly be the only person in pants at any kind of event. I just hope the Yellow Box sandals will do. They were perfectly fine for the engagement party, I think, but it was a sort of indoor/outdoor occasion at a private home, not quite as "formal" as this, I guess.

Lucylee ....do you own small heeled black sandals that would go with the rest of your outfit or beige or white ones? Flip flops of any kind sound a bit too casual to me. Your black dress pants and top sound great to me. I like wearing dresses. They don't have to be fancy...guess that was just the way I was brought up... Besides for me they're so much cooler than pants. I love that dresses are back in style again. I hate matching tops with pants.....with a dress I just slip it on and go. Easy peasy. I always own a pair of low heel shoes in black, white , beige and navy shoe that go with every thing. It purses I hate to carry. I just bought a cute casual dress that I think need gray shoes.... I have some nice gray winter pants that are gray so if I can find a pair of comfortable shoes I'll buy them. Usually I wear either low cut boots in the winter in black or brown. I've always taught in them.... Look nice and comfy, comfy comfy.

All through my younger years I was told that high heels were to make a woman's legs look good. More recently, academic types have explained they were actually to make a woman's rear end look good, but "legs" sounded more socially acceptable. So, can something that is trivial become yet more trivial? LOL I say let men wear them.

Dressy casual? wisegeek.com tackled the question, after researching to find that even the experts disagree on what it means. You could check their site. I think the term is all-inclusive enough to mean hosts should be happy with anything.

Woke way early again. I do wish my sleep was better./ longer.

back to bus stop at general hospital.
into town. got house and contents quote - policy expires tomorrow midnight. (That will be 29 years I have been here.)
talked to someone in the street. talked of mix ups with his meds, and his past problems with pains. Sorting it out oneself while doing what one can seems to be a theme I encounter a lot lately..)
made gp appointment - big sigh - he is away for the next week so theres a delay to get ultra sound results. Monday week
took think time re ins quote
decided to come home to ring re changed excess.
topped up bus go card.
lunch at home
rang r a c q (car club) for their quote - I have car ins with them.
went with their policy.
canc existing policy that has been monthly direct debit.

I think I'll bring in rest of the washing. Put that and some stockpile away.
Try for a rest. It is a pity my left hand complains at holding a book while lying down.
really I need a rest.
I think pool visit exercise is left until tomorrow.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.

Dd2 called this evening. They have made reservations tonight for Tucumcari, NM. They were still on their way there. They will be 4 1/2 hours away from home. She said she is tired of paying high prices for everything and anxious to be home. She told me that they spent a lot of time in lines but paid extra any time they could to get to the front of the line. Dgd2 was so tired of lines that she told her mom "I just want to go to grandma Lilac's house."

Tonight I balanced my checkbook and it balanced to the penny. Then I started balancing my funds against my money. I came up almost $500 short. I finally found 3 checks that I hadn't taken from any of my different funds. That still left almost $200 short. With the checkbook balanced I know that the money was spent just don't know where to take it from. I decided to just take it from the general fund, so they balance and call it good. No one in the world would understand my crazy "funds" but it works for me if I stay on top of it.

I am waiting for my pearl nail polish to dry, so I can go to bed. It is taking longer than I thought. I don't wear colors on my fingernails because they would be chipped in minutes. This pearl polish that I have on just makes them shiny.

We will be leaving tomorrow and will come home on Monday, in case I don't make it in here before we go. I haven't packed anything but everything is clean. That's half the battle.
