My first Friday will be to do a house blessing to get ready for 2 grsons coming tomorrow and an additional grson coming on Sunday, all 3 to spend a week and go home the 10th. DH vacuumed last night. He got rained out this morning, so cannot be up in the woods working, on his usual day. So he'll help bless the house today.
Have a GR8 day, Everyone!

Not getting much done here. I've decided I can wear the black dress I wore to the black tie fund raiser last winter.
Going to:
-start challah in breadmaker
-wipe down kitchen counters
-start a load of delicates
-make the bed
-answer a temple related email, I suspect the rabbi is waiting for my response before he answers, lol.

I forgot that today DH was going to Costco, if it rained and he couldn't go working in the woods with our neighbor.
So I have:
X gotten dressed, fixed my hair
X emptied the DW
X fixed coffee, drank it
X prayed
X put grandsons' blankets in the washer machine
X did emails, obits
X had breakfast, medications and supplements
Next on my list are: X To write a pen pal with a little letter included in the envelope for her Downe's Syndrome daughter. X Done!
_ To finish laundry X Clean counters & Sinks X Done! X toilets & trash Done! X To dust, dust mop X Done! X Journal, pray some more X Done X Help DH put away Costco things, for when he comes home X Done!
Perhaps will do this later tonight or tomorrow a.m. before boys come.
_ Work on editing and proofreading a story, but don't "feel" like sending it in today. (Think I'll sent it next week)
_ To log another story I've got handwritten out.
The last load of laundry's washing, I rested, and DH noticed the car vibrating, so is at a shop to see if it's the tires. Hope this isn't another car repair expense on top of 5 things we've paid for recently in bad luck land!
Happy First Friday, Everybody!

Slow day here... lots of driving tomorrow, travel to meet up w/ds.
Today, just trying to take it easy. Enjoying listening to dgs "talking" to himself in the playpen.
Lucylee: I'm no expert but I think those are too casual for formal-casual. (Honestly, who would come up with a category named that?!) If you were the kind of person who didn't care what others thought, I wouldn't say anything. It also depends on the venue and the kind of people. At a dance or summer wedding in this area, they would be fine. On the ship, they would get me into the dining room on casual night (assuming I'm appropriately dressed otherwise) but I'd be looked down upon by the women who 'get' dress codes.
Dee: so am I glad gd is on her way? I'm probably in the minority but wondered if the lack of id was a blessing in disguise. Your dd is very inventive and a great problem solver.
I'm having a good day for productivity. Did my exercises, stripped and remade the bed, put out fresh towels, started the sheets in the washer before s2s myself, hung sheets out when they were done, just hung the towels out too, dusted the laundry room and organized the laundry supply cupboard (I'm going to have to work my way through a lot of cleaning supplies in the next year) and then started in on the weekly kitchen chores. Those are done, I've had my lunch and now I'm going to take a bit of a break.
I think switching to caffeinated green tea in the morning has been a good move.
Edited to add: The weather was looking dodgy and rain was forecast so I sat outside to go over my sermon and edit it. Didn't get past the first 2 paragraphs before the rain started so I put that away and got all the laundry off the line. The towels needed 10 minutes in the dryer to finish off but they are done and folded and the sheets are put away.
Dh brought in the garbage cans while I was doing that and then moved the car out onto the driveway so God can pre-rinse it before we wash it. Hasn't been washed since Nashville (May) if I recall correctly, although it has been given a wipe down or two after summer storms to get the worst of the bugs off it.
Slow day here too. The day after we return from vacation it is always hard to get back into the swing of things.
I have sent out a number of emails, working on moms group stuff. My a.m. routine is almost done. I still need to make my bed. 2nd load of camping dishes has gone through the dw and is now air drying. I need to unload and put everything away. I've started camping laundry too, part of a.m. routine, actually.
Dd17 is an "on call" babysitter for the 18 month old of a young couple in our church who are having their 2nd baby (now overdue) any day now. They have just arrived in town (he is a resident or fellow or something student-ish with the med school) with no family in the area. . . Originally, an older girl in our church was their on call sitter, but she is an intern with the youth group and is now gone on a jr. high youth group trip. She recommended dd17 in her absence. Dd17 went to meet the family this morning. While there, the mom said she thought her water had broken, so she went to the Dr.'s and dd17 got to babysit the tot on the spot. The mom was sent back home saying it had broken, and they will induce if she hasn't had the baby in 2 days. Dd17 has now packed an overnight bag in case it is needed, and it is sitting by the door.
Dd17 forgot to take ds to work today, which means she took my van - and I thought I would be without a car all day. However, b/c the mom is not officially in labor, she sent dd17 home after the appt. and I now have a car again. I guess I can't get out of my errands after all.
Not so active today also. Taking this week slow has been great - I may be stretching it just a little but we've been away the last two weekends from Friday a.m. to Sunday afternoon, so it's nice to have five days this week.
The challah is rising and I'm having an iced coffee.
-pay two bills
-reboot the laundry
-trustee email I didn't get to yesterday
-transfer planner, also didn't do yesterday
-Roundup! (Long sleeves, Harriet.

She IS a great problem solver, but is very tired of having to do that -especially with gd and dsonil!! Probably better that the id problem was circumvented in that if gd had had to stay in FL she would have been with dsonil & dd would have had to take off immediately to get back home. This way she has another week to stay. Though she had planned to stay through next Saturday but nearly everyone will be away before next weekend and we will be gone (to graduation party for dgd18). So she's thinking she may leave during the day next Friday and give her more time to get back to FL. GD has to be back to her villa by dinner time next Friday. Hoping she's learned (a lot) in the last week and it might be a half way decent week.
