LO nap wasn't very long. Phone rang telling us the very needed repair part came in for MPB (it has another equipment owie). DH is making the 2 hour drive to get the part and LO wanted to go with him. I'm suspecting LO will go back to sleep for most of the drive there and back.
I worked some more on the Cheetah birthday cake project. I cut the 3D ears off and reattached them higher on the head. I had a live cheetah picture in front of me and tried to use it as an example where the ears belong. Then I covered the whole thing in light brown frosting. I'll let this set before tackling the next step. I have VERY LOW expectations for this project, but I'm moving forward with it as if I knew what I'm doing. DGS16 is wants to help design/decorate the cheetah so hopefully he will bring some young brilliant ideas with him to transform it into something believable.
Pork roast has been cooking in crockpot all day. the house smelled wonderful when i walked inside.
Next up - move furniture & get set up for the FNG meeting in our home today.
Well Lucylee I am in agreement with Kathryn ... I wouldn't wear those to the type of affair that you described unless it doesn't matter to you, but given the fact you asked I think it does. If you don't want to spend money on shoes I would think you could find some at Payless or even k mart if there is one around you. On the other hand a simple pair of dress sandals or pumps kept in your closet will always be there to get you out of a jam. Black ones would be great and you could wear them year round.
Twins your dress sounds perfect: that with the right attitude will take you any where. As jack palance says..... Confidence is a sexy thing

Took nap. Biked to store for the mail. Iced knees (the bike ride pushed them too much) and edited the sermon. I'm starting to like it so that's good. I have to be passionate about what I preach.
Meat for dinner is defrosting.
Ds is up and will join us for dinner so that means I need to clear off the kitchen table. Again.
He and I were going over his work schedule. There is a cottage weekend on the 17th that he's going to. He managed to get give up two shifts so he'll have to work until 7 in the morning on the 17th but then drive to the party. In total he's working 20 days in a row. He'll be ready for a year off by September 27. His going away party is September 27, we'll have the 28th as a family and he leaves with his sister for Vancouver on the 29th. He'll leave the continent on October 2 after spending a few days with her.
I took a short nap. DH got the car tires balanced, as he'd just rotated them and the car was vibrating a lot, during driving it.
While he was gone, I did the toilets & trash, dried laundry, he got home, and folded the laundry. I put it away. He's going to shake bathroom rugs for 2 bathrooms and sweep them. I did the dusting, dust mopping, got the towels ready for grson guests and also washed their blankets. I submitted a short story, too.
Now I might crochet a little and read.

Hi everyone! I did make the needlework meetup, but drank too much CAFFEINE!!! Had SO much trouble getting to sleep last night, which makes it very surprising that I was able to get up earlier than usual tonight. I also worked on the database project, which was good because I was asked about it today. I have eaten lunch with friends and taken dFosterCat11 to get her rabies vaccine. I had to take Benadryl for an allergic reaction, so now I am tired. After payroll, I will go to the needlework group at the yarn shop, then pick up more yarn for my sweater, then go home and do database work. (Database work is interesting, fun, and educational. Don't bother to feel sorry for me over it!) I also need to look up some books for a 13th birthday present for a friend and print out a coupon.
DH shook the 2 bathrooms' rugs and swept them. He took recycle to the lane. He accidentally put his recycle out on the wrong day, so ALL the neighbors followed suit and thought DH was "in the know"! So now, everybody's recycle bins are edging the lane, so everybody's taking their recycle out TO the lane bins this week! It's just too funny how one caddy whack can mess up the entire neighborhood!
I worked on my calendar for awhile, had coffee, and need to go look through a list pad and another 2 groups of pages stapled together. They have titles on them, some ideas for stories are with some titles, so now need to match them up with the seasons and holidays.
My biggest challenge is writing for the Australian market. Can't quite wrap my mind around their seasons v.s. OUR seasons! But DH said when it's Autumn here, in Australia it's Springtime! So soon, I need to submit some springtime romantic stories off to them to see if they nibble.
I'm so happy that I've solved a problem, which has plagued me since 2005! I developed this large rash on my left calf about 5" x 9" and none of my doctors said any of "THEIR" medications they gave me would cause it. It would itch, looked like hives, would get raised bumps at times, and was discolored on my leg compared to my own skin. About 2 months ago, my doctor put me on QVAR, an inhaled steroid, and the instructions that came with QVAR are to NEVER-EVER-EVER use Acetaminophen with QVAR! So I stopped taking Acetaminophen and "guess who's" mysterious rash went A-W-A-Y????? MINE, of course! It was the Acetaminophen which had caused it all these years, which no doctor figured out. Now I've solved my own problem and just thank God that I listened to the National news these past 2 nights and now know the warning. It sure pays to listen to the health report on the news, be it local or National!
Have a Happy Later Afternoon & Evening!

Dinner is done. It was very good (dh cooked) but we wolfed it down because we were all hungry.
I got the upstairs dusted and vacuumed and the three bathrooms cleaned, including mopping the upstairs bathroom floor (something I do only sporadically.) Ds vacuumed the basement for me which forced him to clean up a bit of his room a small bit and, more importantly, get a canvas painting (very large and unframed) off the floor of the basement sitting room. He figured out a way to hang it in his room at the entrance.
Ds has a vacuum which he used. Dh is currently trying to get ds to dispose of almost everything he owns so he asked tonight when ds was selling the vacuum. I said I'd store it. Dh objected but I pointed out that it gives us a basement vacuum so I don't have to get dh to carry my vacuum down, it is a better vacuum for detail cleaning because of its design, it isn't a super expensive vacuum so can be used outside without worrying about wrecking it, and it will give us a vacuum to use in this house for the final cleaning while giving us our own vacuum for the apartment. Dh backed down at that point!
Ds has found covered parking for his car while he's gone. That's huge because it gets both the car and the extra tires out of the garage. The Third Amigo's dad offered which just goes to show 'what goes around, comes around' (the Third Amigo lived here for a while when things were rough with his dad and ds has helped the dad out by doing piecework for him when he had a big contract and needed someone for a day or two.)
The Third Amigo will also take some of ds's furniture (on loan) and perhaps some of ours (permanently.) He is married and has 15 month old twin girls. They have a rental house with a finished, but empty basement, so could use the couch in my basement and some other furniture. Since dd isn't moving back to this city, I'd rather let him have it than have to rent a truck to move it to dd's city. So I will.
Edited to add that the kitchen floor has been washed. I put ds's laundry in the dryer He forgot and he'll need dry sheets for 7:30 tomorrow morning when he gets to sleep for 6 hours before returning to work. I'll probably try and get up early in the morning and make his bed for him so he can just crash.
I'm just waiting for the dw to finish and then I'll head off to bed. I want to open the door so the dishes will air dry.
