TOTALLY TUESDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

Yep, that's the sum and total of today -it's Tuesday. What's on your plate today?

I've been awake for some time, but just finished the preliminary 'self' stuff. Now for breakfast. Half expect ddil#2 over for coffee before too long. She forgot to pack coffee in their MH so came over yesterday. They decided to stay overnight again last night, but I think she has to go in to work a little later today. Have thoroughly enjoyed watching dgs12 months. But it's tiring.

GD15 was trying to wheedle her way into being able to drive our golf cart. Not on my watch -it's against the rules and that's all there is to it. Not getting ourselves into trouble trying to appease her just because she's bored. Notta.

Nurse is coming to see dh before too long so better get moving and get our breakfast done at least.

Good morning Dee and everyone else as you enter the village.

We got home last night just after 5, but I didn't make it to the computer and still need to cuop.

We had a wonderful time with dh's 2 sisters. Friday night we took dniece, her dh, their 2 daughters (10 & 7) and dsisil out to eat. We went to a Mexican restaurant that had great food. Saturday we headed to OK to older dsisil house. That night she had her 3 sons and their families over for a bar-b-q. Sunday we just relaxed and visited. Dsisil is a wonderful cook. She baked a fresh blueberry pie that was wonderful. I had never had blueberry pie. She fried chicken and her chicken is as delicious as their mother's always was. The time passed too quickly. It rained a lot while we were there and was really humid.
Even so, we spent a lot of time on dsisil's big front porch. I love her porch swing.

My youngest db lives within blocks of there, so he stopped by each day for awhile. I don't think that I have seen him since dstepdad's funeral 3 years ago. He is 5 years younger than me but is really aging. He has a short beard that is gray. He has long hair that he keeps braided in pigtails. Think Willie Nelson, almost to his waist. But his hair is still dark. He walks like a lot older man but he has been in 2 serious car accidents that included fatalities in the cars he was a passenger in. Both times he sustained back injuries.

I am the oldest but look a lot younger than both of my brothers. Although all the mirrors I looked in this weekend showed a face I don't see in my mirror. It was shocking but I was ready to get home to my mirrors that lie to me.

We have had over 5 inches of rain, since last Wednesday. It rained last night and there is a good chance, every day for the next 3 days. I need to mow this morning but it is humid and the grass is wet. I am waiting until 10 and then I am mowing. It is suppose to get hot and I just can't wait any longer.

Dh left early this morning to go to corporate headquarters for contract negotiations. He will be home tomorrow night. They have 2 more 2 days sessions scheduled this month.

Dd2 starts inservice today for her part time teaching job. Tonight I will spend time with her and the 2 little girls. When we left Friday afternoon, they were 30 minutes away from being home from their Disneylalnd trip. I have missed those little girls, dd2 too.

Dd1 took dgs19, dgd16 and a friend to the big city to shop for school clothes. They left yesterday morning, spent the night and will be home tonight. She called last night and dgd16 is being her normal, hateful self. Dd1 told me to remind her next year, to not take her out of town to school clothes shop.

Well I need to eat breakfast and do meds.

I have missed all of you and need to cuop.

I'm up and s2s-ed, have done teeth care, have checked emails and have sent email to dfriend B re: a gift for S and R.

Thanks for starting us off, Dee.

We've missed you too, Lilac!

On my plate today:
- 9:30 - 2 girls to orthodontist; dd17 is getting her braces off! (This is the 2nd round after she didn't wear her bottom retainer. She paid for part of it.)
- 10:45 - meeting at church with past moms group child care coordinator + other leader
- 12:15 - meeting at church with young woman who responded to ad asking for child care workers for moms group
- shop at upscale baby store that side of town while I'm there, one place where S and R are registered
- HOME to make 3 DPCs, finish a.m. routine, finish band info/email re: tuxedo shirts, other sundry tasks
- dinner date with one kid (not sure which right now)
- family date to see Despicable Me 2 :)

It looks like I may be tutoring Taiwanese man + his wife, perhaps meeting for the first time tomorrow. I am also meeting dfriend at 8 a.m. tomorrow.

Need to leave in 10 minutes.

Well, I've at least washed the dishes and cleaned the 1st shelf of the washer closet in our bathroom. Think all I have to do is the top shelf in that closet (which isn't easy as it's really too high for me) and the bottom of the vanity. There's not all that much room in there -so not very much to go through. At least as I spend these 12-15 minutes in the 'focus' room I'll be getting things more organized for packing in another couple of months. Doesn't matter if we're leaving NY for FL or staying in NY with DS-R (probably), I'll still have to pack everything up from here that I need over the winter. OR that I don't want to freeze.

DD only has less than 3 days here. Then she and gd15 are off to FL.

Understand from dd that dsisil called DDIL#2 and griped because dgd18 had not cashed her check they sent for her graduation. She had told ddil to give it to her when we celebrated dgd's graduation. Once she stopped yelling at ddil, she told dsisil she had taken her literally "don't give the card to her until your celebration" (which was 2 days ago!!) I am really not looking forward to their visit next month. :? Will text dgd today to ask her to PLEASE send a thank you to dbil/dsil asap so at least that's not on our heads. Used to so enjoy time with dsisil -don't know what's happened to her over the past few years. She's so negative and cynical!!

Lilac, for some reason your post about dgd16 being hateful made me think of a story about tipping I'd heard, of a man who felt his group was being treated badly at a restaurant. He put a large tip out on the table, and silently took bills away each time a waiter spoke abruptly or a request was neglected. By the end of the meal, service was exemplary. Wonder how dgd would react if her mother started taking an item of new clothing back with every hateful remark or action. Something similar could be happening even if her mother doesn't know it. Even subconsciously, we tend to offer more kindness to those who are kind to us, so your dgs might be coming home with a lot nicer clothes than his sister.

Well, I posted a whine in H and F. Later I'll go back and be more upbeat. Hope it doesn't take too long!

Hi to BookSaver and looking forward to hearing about the trip.

We're in laundry mode here.

Good morning, villagers ~
Working on re-entry procedures.
Last night DH picked me up at 7:30ish and we stopped for a very late supper on the way home from the airport. Once we finally got home, I had to greet all the cats and make friends with the one who was most upset that I'd been gone so long.

Then I unpacked my suitcase and sorted laundry. I was able to run the first load thru washer & dryer last night. Also
sorted sewing tools & class supplies from suitcase,
paid attention to a cat,
gathered all the dirty dishes from DH's mancave :roll: ,
paid attention to a cat,
checked Email,
paid attention to a cat,
updated anti-virus on my home computer,
paid attention to a cat,
searched for a (paper) file so I could be ready to reply to an Email this morning,
paid attention to a cat ...
(We have 3 indoor cats and they all had to take turns last night making sure I wasn't Stranger Danger. 8-) )

First thing this morning I made coffee
-- o how I missed my own coffee! :lol:
started another load of laundry,
put the first batch of dishes to soak,
updated financial reports for library group,
printed the reports,
Emailed the reports,
received & replied to an antagonistic Email :? ,
and that's all I want to do for the library group today. That meeting is not until Thursday.

Switching attention back to sewing group because that meeting is today in The Big City at 5:30pm.

Still to do today:
another load of laundry,
more dishes,
go pick up the stack of mail from the post office,
pull together magazine order for sewing group discount,
prep bank deposit slip for sewing group,
general prep for sewing group meeting tonight,
expense report for newsletter to turn in tonight,
start expense report for the trip,
decide whether or not to stop for groceries after the meeting,
a little hand sewing on a class project before I can show it tonight,
bank deposit for sewing group? only if I make it to The Big City early enough before the meeting,
sort the stack of newspapers.

I'm not going to make it through all that without a nap.
I haven't checked FB for a week and will wait to do that until after tonight's meeting. Trusting that if anything important happened to family while I was gone, someone would have called or Emailed.

Alrighty then, it's time to ...
NAP!
:)

Good morning everyone!
I'm back from my walk. Have the sheets ready to go into the dryer. The windows are open and I"m enjoying the cool morning we are having here today. Granny duty begins in a few min. BabyN. will be here this afternoon.

I've watered the back yard. Isolated another broody hen the ones earlier in the week have gone back in with the rest of the flock successfully now. So that is working. One more to do after this one today as well ~sigh~ ! Because we have too many chickens I've asked dgd if she wants some of the younger ones that they tamed and named & the red coop too. She said she would ask her folks but she does want em as they are laying already or some of 'em makes it a plus! LOL! Those and the 4 adults would cut down by 8 and still have a great flock here.

~~~waving Hi to all~~~~
DH and I were out the door before 8 this morning and returned home about noon. Meeting went as well as can be. I went by LO doctor office and picked up a copy of his medical records and dropped them by the lawyer office.
Helia - I have been wondering if you were going to take Taiwanese language lessons.
We had soup and sandwiches for lunch. Quick and simple.
Two days ago I started uploading 2011 digital files (>12K) to Dropbox. They have finally finished. Next is 2010
Wow, OKay, your digital files must be very well organized!
I'm back from errand run, except forgot to go on to drugstore to pick up a script - but I can do that later in the week. Otherwise went to Walmart and Tar-jay, Petsmart, L owes and the bank.
DD and I are going for pedicures in about an hour. I'm moving things around this week - will go see dsis tomorrow, need to reschedule my "body work" on Thursday because I needed to set up a temple meeting at 4:30.
