Did anyone else get worried seeing an angry grey cat overtop of Tweety when they scrolled down through the posts?!
Welcome Grey or AGC. Shan't shorten you to Angry because I suspect if you hang around here long enough it won't apply.
Dh cooked dinner. I ate it. And we watched another episode of Doc Martin. Spent time on the phone with my senior friend. Need to get back to the writing (did start it at some point in the afternoon.)

Re: WINNING WEDNESDAY
((Mr. Dee))
Welcome AGC! I saw that you like to read.
I should probably be more social here, but I'm sort of distracted right now. I'm trying to give the band director shirt #s, but it has just occurred to me that I don't think we (orchestra uniform parent and I) inventoried the shirts that are still hanging in the uniform room. No need not to include those in the count for the order. . . That means I need to get back to the school before the count can be final. *sigh* I've emailed orch. parent to see if she knows #s on the shirts still there. . .
Dd15 and I did get to the party store this afternoon and had a fun time there! Then, Dfriend B who is hosting called me and we chatted for a while about the shower. I think she is kind of stressed about it. She is hosting, and I'm doing all the rest. She is pretty BO and her house is always close to company-ready. She also works full time.
I also got 3 lols done this afternoon, cooked a dinner of short ribs, baked potatoes, and steamed broccoli. R joined us. Physics prof. friend will probably join us tomorrow night. I said good bye to dh who is off to DC for a couple days on a work trip. I got raw #s of shirts to buy ready for the band director and emailed orchestra mom with the above-mentioned question. She kept track of #s that day. . . The band director would like to order before he heads off to INterlochen band camp next week. Me too!!
The girls have gone to JoAnn Fabrics. I've asked them to get me a tri-fold and plasti-tak for baby photo game. We're slowly getting what we need for the party. . . .
Now, I have not done my reading for teaching team meeting tomorrow. Nor have I thought through specifics of what I might do/ how I might like to keep Taiwanese couple organized for tutoring sessions tomorrow. I would like for each of them to have a notebook, but haven't decided on a 3 ring binder vs. a spiral. I think I'll make progress on these 2 things tonight - and might also go to the gym to work out.

Welcome AGreyCat! I like to read too.
Also hello to Maxsgrandma, saw you peeking in!
I sorta pushed myself all day not to nap and to get something accomplished for a change. Big cleanup in kitchen done. Lots of laundry folded and put away. Another load done. Did some more work on a spreadsheet tonight. Good progress for me. Makes it a winning Wednesday for sure!

Thanks for the welcomes! Just home now from book club. I am a huge reader. I am on a first name basis with my librarians.
I have been in and out of "the box" for years. I am trying to be in again. Although I love technology and use a lot of it, I still prefer the old fashioned 3x5 cards for this system. Oh, I'm also a big Doc Martin fan.

Re: WINNING WEDNESDAY
Hello everyone! Welcome to AGrayCat. Nice to see you posting here. I like to read also.
I tried coup and posting yesterday, but we had thunder close around us. I had done two lol, my clothes and sheets & towels. I don't usually hang the clothes because of wrinkles (I don't iron unless it's absolutely necessary) and was debating whether to hang the sheets when I noticed the white clouds getting darker. In the end I put it all in the dryer and I'm glad I did. Shortly after it poured rain.
We had another storm here today. I could hear it coming an hour ahead and we got lots of rain, too.
((Dee))... I hope the small change in meds will be the thing that helps dh. My dh was on that new med. for a while. Has your dh had a PSA test lately?
Helia...it sounds like your baby party will be lots of fun!
I don't think I've mentioned this....early in July I received a jury notice and questionnaire from the Federal Court in the next county. This is for petite court, not grand jury, thank goodness. I don't really want to do this --- it's not the actual jury duty it's the driving to and from in all that traffic across the bay bridge to the bigger city. Plus I am not familiar with the downtown streets, many of which are one way. (I get lost easily). Plus, parking is in a city garage about three blocks away from the courthouse! The good thing is out of the three weeks I have to be available, this is the first week and when I called for reporting instructions I did not have to report this week. I'm crossing my fingers when I call this Fri. I don't have to go next week either, and again for the last week. Anyway, thanks for listening to my petty tale. I try to always be cheerful here, but this has me upset!
I know there are lots worse things and others have worse problems than mine! (I might come back and delete this later.)
All right, as Lucy says...tomorrow is another day!

Re: WINNING WEDNESDAY
Welcome AGC! I too was out of town when you joined. I also love to read.
It is raining but not hard yet.
Dh said that the contract negotiations are going so well that he thinks they will be done after next weeks 2 day session.
One of dh's coworkers ordered his fence a week before we did. They told him September. They started on it this week. So dh needs to get busy tearing down the back fence and cutting the boxwood bushes down. Last year he cut all the low stuff to the ground, trimmed them to look like a tree. Now the low stuff is growing back, so he will cut the tree like bush down and we hope to keep them trimmed down.
Last night I went to dd2s and we had the new Applewood pork loin sandwiches from Subway, that are a limited time offer. We went with a banana pepper, pickles, onions, lettuce and bar-b-q sauce on the french bread. It was a delicious sandwich and I highly recommend it.
Last night I was so tired when I went to bed that I immediately fell asleep. Usually when dh is gone, I have a terrible time sleeping.
I am tired so need to head to bed.
