In 1991 I ran for town council. Dh just pulled down from the garage rafters the campaign signs and stakes and we have them at the curb along with some other stuff. Garbage day is Friday but I've put it up on Freecycle so hopefully someone will garbage pick before then.
Now we'll head off for dinner.

Re: Wednesday PWYC
I am TIRED. Got home about 45 minutes ago - went to funeral service and then to cemetery (not what I consider the "old" cemetery, a newer one.) Spoke to parents of deceased cousin and spoke to his sister, who is my age. This cousin and I were together a lot in early years.
Stopped off a drugstore for the script I never got last week, and also picked up more probiotics for Harriet.
Ordering pizza for supper tonight. Will be interesting to see what dd gets packed. We're supposed to get her back to K-town tomorrow, although she has to come right back for her Saturday defensive driving class, and then go south with me on Tuesday for her court hearing on the speeding ticket.

Dh just called and they will be heading home tonight. They can not progress any further until they get more info on insurance rates, issues, etc. They will go back the 27th.
He said he is having a meeting with the guy doing the fence on Friday. So they won't start until at least Monday, we think.

Kathryn - I'm unsure that plastic between the slats and the mattress will be helpful. If the moisture is from sweat then it will just stay in the mattress and affect that.
Just also wondered if there is a hot cold condensation issue could be going on.
One time whilst camping I threw a rubberised ponsho over the top of me and the moisture I collected was rain worthy in the morning - hanging in droplets.
A waterproof mattress cover could be another option if the moisture is sweat related..

Re: Wednesday PWYC
This afternoon, I found/bought/brought home a couple pieces of furniture that will help LO. One is a small desk (4'x2') with 5 drawers. The desktop is big enough for him to do his homework while also holding his lsptop. The drawers will hold his paper, pencils, etc. The other piece of furniture is a wooden chest with a lid that raises. It will serve double duty in his bedroom. The chest will be his toy box and (with lid closed) will be where he sits to get dressed - put his socks on, etc.
Lunch #1 of the 2013-2014 school year has been packed. Last year I made the decision that LO would eat in cafeteria instead of taking his lunch, but this year I'm giving him the choice. I prefer the cafeteria because it is easy, cheap ($1.60) and we've known the ladies preparing the food all our life. I'm thinking after the new experience of taking his lunch wears off, he will want to eat in cafeteria. We shall see.

Re: Wednesday PWYC
I've cleared off the dining table wa-hoo! Yippity skipity and all that!
I have also sewn up a top I've had cut out for a few weeks I"m so glad to have that done. A shirt to mend but I did not get to it yet don't think it fits us so I'm trying to decide if it's worth mending for donating.
The hens are happily playing in the hose I have running a bit on the ground to water shrubs and trees it's like a wading pool to them. It was 102* last time I looked. H. brought home sodas for us.
Time to go move that hose again now.

Re: Wednesday PWYC
Dh and I are just vegging in front of the TV tonight. Dneighbors came and did a lot of weeding, trimming, weed-whacking on our berm tonight. Dh feels badly that he can't do it. We have so many good neighbors and even people from our church offered the other night to come by and do things.
Dh did cardiac rehab this morning. Did fairly well, but they obviously saw something on the monitors. He saw the cardiologist this afternoon. He's put on 5# since he saw him a little over a week ago -all fluid. So he has doubled his Lasix to 40mg a day. Said the bloating and coughing are all being caused by fluid retention. Said it will probably take a week before we see real results. So took the 2nd 20mg when we got home today. His visiting nurse (who had to discharge him a week ago) called yesterday afternoon because she'd heard he wasn't doing well. She told him to hang up and call his cardio dr right then -which he did. She's a real peach. She texted me tonight reiterating that she still wants us to call her and was glad to hear what Dr had to say. Dh has to go back in 2 weeks (she also reminded us to call Dr if things don't get better soon).

Dee - so glad DH doctor is adjusting meds. Bless you and DH hearts as you walk through this time of healing and recovery.
I have the living room, LO bedroom and dining room messed up with moving furniture around. Hopefully tomorrow I can finish moving things into a new places and organized better.
Spend an hour outside in the garden. Very relaxing to me to weed, mulch, and observe the growing plants.
LO is in the shower. I will start DW and washing machine when he gets out.
Sweet Dreams

DH really was giving off some pretty scary symptoms, Okay. It is hopeful that we might start seeing some improvement. Much of the time he couldn't walk 5' without stopping and holding on. I'm praying and hoping and trusting.

Quick check-in... Happy Birthday Wishes to Lynlee's Dmom and Blessed's dd!
Seems like today whenever I started something I got interrupted. But today was payday and when I finally sat down at my desk I worked until everything was paid for the month.
Yesterday was supposed to be our errand day, but I didn't feel like going out. Dh couldn't sit still so he took a ride up to the indoor mall and walked two laps then stopped at W-M for a few groceries before coming home. So while he was gone I worked on Project #3 and got it done. I cleaned out the small bookcase and got rid of at least half the books. I found a few I hadn't read, so I kept those. I also cleaned the shelf in my nightstand, which had a few books also, so that was extra, which I added to my card.
OKay, I'll bet LO will enjoy using his new desk and chest.
MT, I'm glad you like the park you are in enough to stay longer.
Dee, thinking of you and dh!
Lynlee, thinking of your dbro, also!
Kathryn, that was a big job you and ds got done today.
Helia, so nice that you had a good visit with dfriend.
Twins, also so nice that you had a quieter day today. Hope the next few are not too stressful.
Hmmm, I know I've miss someone....I know I talked to you in my head when I read your post.
Reality shows....I can't say I like any of them. Most seem like the attitudes are heightened for the show. But I also know that some people can be like those in Lilac's dgd's class. It's not easy for me to interact with people like that. I'd be looking for another dance teacher for my child!
I think it's time to let the ddogs out. When I'm sitting here at my desk, one or both are usually here snoozing at my feet. Minnie is here sleeping with her head on my feet!
((Dee)) hoping and praying with you for dh's recovery and healing. It's so wonderful that you have caring neighbors and church family to help! I, too, wish there was something I could do.
