Finding inspiration Sunday

Post by Lynlee »

Where could you go to find inspiration today? Share your thoughts, and successes.

I googled inspirational quote.

I did a lot of walking today.
Bus to church. Island singers again made up the choir.
I was early back to the bus stop. Stood under a tree as the sun has a zing to it. Took off my cardigan and was stowing it in my handbag when the bus sailed past. Rather than wait an hour for the next one I walked home. 2+k
Dragged my feet today over wish to get to pool for exercise. A phone call from an old friend further delayed me.. finally caught the bus as near as I could to find it was closing in 5 minutes.
I walked home. It took 35 min, and was pleasant as much of the way I could go along a tree lined path by a creek.
Then I needed to walk the dog. Had bit of a break first. Came home and napped.

My big inspiration today is Dee.
I wanted to go out tonight and drove - first time back behind the wheel. My left hand is getting quite strong, even if my arm isn't as easy to move as I'd like. I could force my wrists above steering wheel so am counting that as improvement.
Less traffic tonight, and I planned the journey without difficult intersections. I'm not sure I'll drive when its very busy, or far. But it was a start at least.
The hardest part was getting the seat back the way I like it. I like to be bolt upright. Fully supported.

Now I can aim to get the dog to the groomer this week. I hope.

Good night all - Have a great day.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Inspiration for me often comes from doing routines. If I've got a little (or a lot!) behind on household chores, starting with a few simple tasks really helps inspire me to do more.

We may or may not be having people for lunch today. But don't have the food we need if people are coming. And, of course, the house is not ready.

I came down to the kitchen barefoot so could tell just how crunchy the floor was. Have used the electric broom on the whole main floor now, tidied as I worked. and started a load of laundry for the line. Just those small acts make me feel much more in control of what ever will happen after church.

Hopefully, this inspiration I have now to keep on cleaning will still be there when I get home after church, should we not have guests for lunch!

I have a Christian book I've been reading that is helping and giving me plenty of inspiration!

My B.S. was way up today and I did not have any cake at the bday party last evening. [Pouty face :? .] I took meds. so am having breakfast now. It was good to be able to hang out with family.

Waving to all. I need to s2s and get ready for church they are having a pot luck today. Hens have been fed.

I'm happy to have a slow mostly-at-home day today but dh is probably going to lose it watching TV all day bored-to-tears while I'm happy as a clam. ;) Has been raining earlier but I think it's stopped and I'll take ddogs out soon.

Ah, dh does have stuff to do - he's playing tennis at 2 and has a football fantasy draft at 4:30. So that's a good thing.

I'm going to dedicate today to routines, prep for the week and some desk day stuff.

Long day yesterday - helia, dh was taking ds to ATL, I was getting dd to the defensive driving class here in town. Because dh didn't want her driving, I had to drop her off, get her for lunch and deliver her back, and pick her up at the end. In the afternoon, I did some "retail therapy" didn't buy much but I enjoyed looking. I went to H ancocks (a fabric/sewing place) G arden R idge, which just opened in this area, then to T uesday M orning and a "salvage" type place that has rugs, furniture and home decor stuff, then Walmart for the needed groceries and some additional looking. Back home we had a quiet evening - dh and dd konked out early sleeping.

-throw on clothes and walk ddogs
-clear kitchen counters
-clear kitchen table
-start a lol
-get up the broken glass on the back patio

It is a beautiful day here. It is quite overcast so no sun is beating down. It is 72*F and the breeze is coming off the lake so it is cool. The humidity is high but not sticky as it is cool.

DH is fishing so I can sit here and surf or read or what ever I want. NICE!!!

Most of the people are packed up and have left. There were only 21 rigs in the whole campground this weekend. School starts Monday and people were getting ready for that, I guess.

Done with that round. Doesn't feel like a happy day here - dh is morose in front of TV and dd in a snit. I'm just trying to work around them. My computer is running like molasses. When I finish posting, I'll reboot it and see if that helps.

-s2s
-straighten MBR
-reboot laundry
-fold two lols that dcleaning lady ran on Friday
-sweep and straighten back patio

MT, I'm glad you're having some downtime today in the nicer weather. The humidity is high here but temp is only 77 right now.

I'm not very inspired today, but I am doing laundry.
Talked to dmom; will pick up something for her supper later this evening.

LOTS to do in the next couple days before we leave Thursday.

 Still so glad I am getting to take a TRIP during the first week of school and I don't even have to think about getting a substitute!!! I just feel like LOL! I still feel too young to be retired, but I feel sooo relieved to be retired!
Tomorrow is another day.

I got part of that round done. I too a cooling off break after I did the back patio and I'm just now getting back to business. I still need to reboot laundry, and I'm holding off on s2s until dh gets back from tennis - he will need to shower and head next door.

DD has come out of her room after deciding I'm probably not going to make her clean her room. I'm not a happy camper but I'm tired of her witchy behavior right now.

-reboot laundry
-make the bed
-start a list of what needs to be done in the morning before we leave
-make the bed
-take off refrigerator water filter so I can get a new one this week

Church went well. They even had a coffee hour (this congregation doesn't like doing coffee hours but have decided to try them the next three weeks!)

Got home and was putting two loads of laundry on the line when our friends called to say they wouldn't be over for lunch. Phew!

I had some lunch, put another load of laundry on, cleaned the bathrooms, played the piano a little bit (wayyyy rusty), then hung up the third load and took my preaching books outside to start prep for next weekend. Decided on the readings and have two comments in my notebook. Not quite finished the reading yet. Closed my eyes for a bit but I'm too wired to sleep and too sleepy to be productive.

Brought in two loads of laundry and what was dry from the third since my line is all in shade now. Left a few things out on the drying rack on the deck. Will bike now and see if we can get corn on the cob for dinner.

Calling that round done. Dh got his shower and headed next door. I had "make the bed" listed twice so I did a "weekly review" of my li&ts.

This time:
-s2s
-Process 10 pieces of paper from my stack
-review emails and figure out how many I have to answer
-email x bil
-review notes from Exec comm meeting last week
