It's so nice to be able to come here and trust everyone in this village with our day-to-day issues, joys, strengths, accomplishments, problems.................. I'm sure there's things in every day living that we have to just "trust".
For once I had a very good night's sleep. Never awoke or got up once until 6:30. Amazing how good it feels!
Little cool this morning and finally put on a sweatshirt. Refuse to turn on the heat as long as dh hasn't. Supposed to be near 80 later.
Want to go up to the laundry room and do 1 load this morning. Think I'll drive my car and perhaps clean that out while the laundry twins are going.

Lynlee: Looked up that product but the product with the same name here is different.
There is a gel that has been recommended to me (voltarin) but I figure as long as I'm sore I'll remember to do my exercises and be active in a safe way. Ibuprofin at night works so they don't keep me awake, they are just not reliable (i.e. I have to have a hand free in order to grab on to something in case my twinges while I'm walking along.)
I'm up. Haven't showered yet. Didn't exercise (nor will I, although I may bike to my lunch later today.)
Picnic lunch at the beach. Just checked and the beach is 5 miles from here. I biked 4 on Sunday but there will hills and this will be flat. I should be able to do it, rest for an hour or so and then bike back. Home is harder because the prevailing winds may be against me, although it isn't windy today.
This is the sort of interruption that Twins talked about when she was going over her list of things to do. BTW: my list for this week is 15 items long, of which I did one thing yesterday.
Off to eat breakfast.

Re: TRUSTING TUESDAY
When dh came home yesterday, he immediately noticed that although we had asked for 3 4 ft gates and the estimate specified that, they were anything but. Yesterday they dug the fence posts and poured the concrete to set them. One gate opening was 40", another was 39" and another 32". Dh decided he would just live with the 2 larger openings but the 32" had to be changed, because that is the only gate he would be able to use to bring the snowblower from the front to the back. He left later than normal this morning so that he could be at the place where the pickets, etc. would be loaded this morning and he could talk to the guy. I noticed one of the young guys is out digging up one of the fence posts. Dh was rather irritated because him and the guy had talked specifically about 4 ft gates.
Today I will be picking dgd3 up at daycare around noon. That is after their lunch and before naptime. Then I will take her to dance class at 2:30.
Dd2 copped an attitude towards me yesterday. It is not my fault that she has 5 kids, a business and now a part time teaching position, so she continues to meet herself coming and going!
Guess I better get clothes ironed and a shower.

Re: TRUSTING TUESDAY
Staycation day 1 (1/2 day) was fun! We split into teams to cook a part of a Southern style meal. Oh, my!!! There was SO much food and it wa all SO yummy! Dh and R made bbq-ed baby back ribs. S, ds, and myself had the sides. S, ds, and I were at S and R's house; everyone else cooked here in our kitchen. From scratch, my team made baked mac 'n cheese, green beans with bacon and pecans, and. .. . hush puppies!!! The hush puppies were ds' idea. Actually, I'm not sure hush puppies are southern or not, but they were such a novel idea we went with it. Everything turned out well, especially the hush puppies! Dd15 and dd17 had desserts. As a joke, they started by giving everyone a twinkie, though we had a conversation about whether or not twinkies are southern. They seem neither southern nor northern. None of us like twinkies, though I liked them as a kid, and no one ate theirs, though a few of us had a taste. 2nd course - a lime cheese cake dessert served in wine glasses w/ a slice of lime on the edge. Beautifully presented and yummy. Then, there was lemon meringue pie - from scratch - and one of dd15's chocolate cakes.
My favorite was the lemon meringue pie. Needless to say, this was not helpful for keeping to WW points.
Today: After meeting here for brunch, we are heading to some museums, the riverwalk, and dinner in Detroit.
Before we leave, I hope to do the a.m. routine and work on the application. I'm dropping off our 2 dogs at a friend's house b/c we'll be gone too long to keep them in their crates. Tori will be fine out of her crate. We discussed this with her parents before we took her.
Thinking of Lynlee's dbro.

helia, your staycation sounds like such fun with wonderful memories being made. I too, loved Twinkies as a kid but when I ate them a few years ago, although they were fresh, they were dry. Also, I am pretty sure that hushpuppies are southern. I know that my extended family thinks that if you have deep fried fish, that you have to have hushpuppies with it.

Re: TRUSTING TUESDAY
Helia - your team cooking menu sounded perfect! I really like that there were 4 desserts. OH YEAH!
I have started the day well.
** By 7 am - I had completed Personal cards, Bible study, Kitchen & Laundry room set up for the day, exercise done and was back home
** By 9am - I had completed LO care (including taking him to school), MPB AM cards and was back home.
** By 10am - I have picked-up/put away through all the rooms. Tooks curtains down in our bedroom and have them washing. cleaned & polished our bedroom windows.
I like it when following the plan. Getting things done in an easy and calm manner.

Re: TRUSTING TUESDAY
Well I was 'trusting' myself to get the freezer organized. Of course that 'grew'. Now have that done and cleaned out the fridge. Some things were well past their due date, shall we say?
Want to come do some of my windows, Okay? Have lots and neither dh nor I are in shape to do them.
There is a guy who's supposed to come detail our RV, but so far haven't seen him. Maybe dh will need to remind him this weekend? DS-R and DDIL#1 took the day off yesterday and did their 5th wheel. Tonight DS plans to 'treat' their rubber roof. Pretty sure ours needs doing now -this is the 3rd summer already! A couple several RV's away put on a permanent roof and closed it all in a couple of weeks ago. That is SO nice! Now I'm dreaming about closing ours (we already have the permanent roof in place of an awning) in. Would give us another very useable room. Not this year -maybe after a new car and after dh gets working regularly again. Think it'll be a while!
Now if I could figure a way to stay here and make money, I'd do it.

Re: TRUSTING TUESDAY
Good morning, villagers ~
Seems odd to write "morning" because it feels much later. My day's a little upside down, but that's not a bad thing because it's going to be a scorcher. I'll need to slow down as soon as I go outside into the heat.
I woke up at 4 and gave up going back to sleep at 4:30 so started right into meeting prep for tonight's sewing group board meeting. I'd have liked to run away for the day again to sew like I did last week, but am glad I had already sent my regrets last night. Somehow more paperwork keeps appearing on the clipboard. The more I can do for prep work before the meeting, the better organized I'll be before everyone gets there, and the shorter the meeting will run tonight!
I did find a good stopping point at 8, went up and took a nap for over an hour. I think that's mostly what's throwing me off right now. I'm finally drinking some coffee and eating a light brunch. I want to do a little more work before s2s, and then I'll be back in the groove for the rest of the day.
Will cuop while drinking my coffee. BBS.
