Helia: I leave first thing Monday. And we are flying, so it really will be first thing.

Got most of the kitchen cleaned up (still waiting for some baked on crud to soak before tackling it.) Started a load of laundry. Should put that in the dryer.

Sold one of our two patio tables plus 4 chairs. I have two tables because I bought one and used cheap chairs. A summer or two later, found chairs for sale so bought 4 of those. A week or two later, came across an incomplete patio set with table and 3 chairs for sale very cheap because it was incomplete. We bought that and put the second table on the newly completed balcony with 4 chairs and left 3 chairs with the other table. I'll be short a chair on the balcony now but that's not a big deal because the kitchen is right there and we can grab a kitchen chair. Besides only 3 of us are at home and we seldom eat out there.

Hopefully, they have a vehicle that will take most of the stuff. The Prius will hold maybe three chairs so worst comes to worst, we'll drive in with them. These are friends of ds but aren't likely good candidates for more stuff. Sigh... was hoping they'd want other things. Everyone wants the kitchen table but we want to keep it even if we have to store it.

You hit some of my favorite towns...lived in K-town for years, lived in NO for several...miss it terrible and I'm a Jersey Strong girl myself. Rumson-Sea Bright area...any chance you're close???

I loved Knoxville, so clean and such a nice city. The world's fair park was beautiful. I'm in Jersey near Trenton. I was a military brat so I just ended up here because my Dad retired out of McGuire AFB, I'm not a Jersey native. I have lived all over but I really was impressed with Knoxville.

Angry-grey-cat, do you have one at school in K-town? DD is there. It sounds like you had quite an odyssey this week and exceeded my travels. I know I was T.I.R.E.D.
No I just stopped there as a break driving from Jersey to Hattiesburg. My oldest goes to Southern Miss. I usually drive it straight through but I just couldn't face it again, so we built in the break. I'm glad I did, it was a really nice stop.

You're absolutely correct. Particularly high school/middle school students need more morning sleep. Their circadian rhythms make them function better if they start later. Unfortunately due to bus schedules, elementary school schedules and sports they usually don't get what they need. The problem is made worse by the fact that the "free" breakfast program serves garbage (at least where I work) Poptarts and all kinds of high carb stuff that just makes the kids crash as soon as they come off the sugar high.

Hello, finally got here. Got some stuff here this morning before taking off for church. I stopped and picked up 3 bags of salad and dressing, only to find someone else brought the exact same thing already in an open pan...

I stayed and helped with the prep for that and left while everything was just about ready. A couple others were coming in for the cleanup. It was all I could do. Too tired to stop at the stores I needed stuff at, but after resting a bit here I went back out. Rx picked up; also some stuff for my skin/hand problem recommended by Dr. Fri. Also spent some time in the supermarket checking labels, trying to find enough stuff I can eat, healthy stuff, no cholesterol. Frustrating.

Yesterday we had a pretty bad electrical storm come through and I think something on the house got hit. 2 rooms were without power and both fuses blown. We switched them back on and I'm so grateful none of our electronics or appliances got blown. I think we have a whole house surge protector, I'll have to ask how we'd know if that was activated.
