My satisfaction will be getting away to the beach today! Lots to do to get on the road this morning, so I'm getting rolling...
-reboot laundry

-meds/vitamins

Re: Satisfying Sunday
My satisfaction (at least so far) is that I could even navigate to this site today!
It's been a battle the past few days. Have no idea why -unless the internet in the campground has been unstable.
Beautiful sunny day here.
DGS8 was pushed off a small trike at the WKA nationals in PA yesterday and did a "face plant" on the pavement. His face doesn't look too pretty right now and I have a feeling DS-R was not happy with the perpetrator. Imagine he's going to come home with a very fat lip and a black eye at the least.
Have to run and get ready for church. Had trouble with the printer and needed that first thing. Now ink is replaced and I think the problem's solved.

Re: Satisfying Sunday
My not so much today my new toy did not even last 24 hrs. Google Nexus 7 tablet is froze up drat taking this back! I feeling sad about this. No instructions with it unless you get on line. I did that but can't now b/c it's froze up in camera mode can't get it out of camera mode. I'm concerned about my info. in it. Poo! I've not even gotten it out of the wrapper yet!
Sigh I need prayer I guess.
So I'm back using my pc with windows XP & no chicken pics for my blog. So I'm going to return this take my chances with security as I do not do on line banking. Will try the generic model and get the warranty. I guess not sure what else I'm going to do but looking on line there is a "known" issue with the G.P.S. and it's not got a fix yet. So not so happy with my "bday ' 40th wedding ann. gift."
I did what I could asked techie geek son for input and this was his suggestion.

Re: Satisfying Sunday
Had a bizarre dream about getting onto a cruise ship, and our stateroom had a pool in it. No likely. The last part of the dream was a small plate with 4 miniscule pieces of cake asking which we would like for our celebration. We are looking at a cruise right now, but we would be away on my dd's birthday, not mine or Mike's. Also in the dream I was sad because I had forgotten my camera.
But... we are going to Niagara Falls today for an overnight and there will be a Jacuzzi in the room. I want to take my regular camera (35 mm) because I don't want to use my phone to take pics.
Anyway... Mike wants me to get off here and pack our overnight bag. All the laundry is clean and the dishes are done and the bathroom is clean... so I can leave home being satisfied that I can get away without feeling guilty about anything being a mess.

Re: Satisfying Sunday
My satisfying will be to get my laundry catch-up done, reading done (I'm far behind!
), write a few letters- maybe, get in a nap, and take the scrapbooking project out of my small office (which used to be a craft room) and put it into the bunny room. The grandsons were using the bunny room, while they were here, the room's much larger, with a bigger desk and protective mat for gluing on it.
I want to overhaul my office, make it more professional-looking again.....
and take a nap.

Have fun, Twins', Cathy and Kathryn beginning travels. Have fun, Emptynester continuing them!
Glad to read that Lynlee is getting better.
Nancy, there is such a thing as just getting a lemon of an otherwise good product? Can your tech-savvy son make it work?
We continue to work on the detritus in dd's old room. Amazing. How can three people turn around and around in a room without knowing what to do with the last items?
I've always said decluttering goes really fast at first and then slows to a crawl, as if gears went rusty! I guess the easy decisions were already made. We're very close to a stash-and-dash so that we can rent the carpet shampooer.
Thankfully, we have been good-natured about this, and HRH and I generally tolerant of dd's inexperience in clearing out a room. It does point out that it's no wonder families get ugly on hoarding shows! Still, our self-imposed deadline on a cleared old room and a well-organized new room was the first day of school and that's tomorrow!!!
Cowinkie, thinking of tennis balls, when I have put my hair into a scrunchie while still damp, to stay while I sleep, I notice that all night long I'm gently reminded not to sleep directly on it. I spend the whole night on my side(s). It would actually be uncomfortable to lie directly on it (at the nape of my neck), plus feeling it reminds me that I was trying to protect it a little so that it would stay in. That is probably not enough reminder for you now, but someday when your symptoms have eased, that might be all it would take.
Everybody who feels tired - (
) (I know, I know, what a laugh, this might be a large group) - The more I read about the concept of lights in our eyes unnaturally for the couple hours before bedtime, the more I think it is a real culprit in poor night's sleeps and therefore many folk's feelings of tiredness through the day even if they thought they got enough sleep. It also aggravates ADD and ADHD. So often, for instance, my family members might have our noses in computer screens way down in the evenings, then not sleep well. It's the blue part of the light spectrum that does it, because our eyes/brains read that as daylight, and believe it is a time when our melatonin is to be suppressed. Yellow/orange part of the spectrum doesn't do it, interestingly. I don't believe my family can or will start going to bed with the dusk, certainly not dd and her homework. So that's the reason I'm buying some blue-blocker items like bulbs, glasses. I'll let you know.

Re: Satisfying Sunday
morning y'all..
Rainy, drizzly day here with expected showers later on. Nice for a change so I'm not complaining.
I am satisfied with my home. Friday I started 'putterling" around the house. Before I knew it the house was vacuumed, footprints gone and Lawrence and his camels were banished back over the hill. I made dinner in the crock pot so I would have left overs for Sat. Love when that happens.
Yesterday I finished the laundry; everything is clean and put away. What few dishes I had were done last night and I removed my footprints before I went to bed. Sure did enjoy getting up this morning to a nice home.....
May take Willis for a walk this morning...I feel like it so it will depend on the weather. I need to make a short grocery run, but nothing that will take much time. I'm in the mood for a steak and salad tonight. Have to spend some time at my desk as well, but I think I'll just breath for a while.
Can't believe Twins could pack so fast unless she already knew what she wanted. I am making a list for our vacation. Two weeks from today my tooties will be in the sand....I can hardly wait. I'm not packing much..couple pairs of shorts and tops, one pair of long pants...most likely my yoga ones, something to sleep in, a slip on dress, bathing suit and a pair of quick drying water shorts...something long sleeved, a sweat shirt and a pair of water shoes. Oh and of course a hat. ...We will be staying in a two bedroom condo on the beach where there's also a washer and dryer. These is an easy peasy thing for me. I lived in a two bedroom condo on the beach for several years while in AL. so I know what to expect. Have already started a grocery list. We will be stopping at a Publics before we drive onto the island. I know from experience that everything will be cheaper off the island. Sanibel is small and the condo owner has already suggested we stop before hand. I had already planned on doing it any way.
There will be much to do...we plan to rent bikes for the week, plus the activities are endless. First on my list is walking down the beach early Sunday morning with a hot cup of coffee in my hand. If I don't do anything more than just that for the whole week I will be a happy camper. Lets just hope that Mother Nature is kind to me and keeps those storms away.
Sun is peeking out...time to walk Willis...Cya'll later. Enjoy your day...

Re: Satisfying Sunday
Online for a few minutes. A nap would be great right now - I might take 15 minutes to shut my eyes. I use an eye mask at all times (naps and at night) and, if nothing else, find my eyes aren't getting inflamed any more so that's a bonus.
Productive day so far, got up, greeted ds coming home and said goodbye to him (he'll leave for work at 2:30, I'll be back from the next service at 3 and he'll be home at 11:30 but I hope to be in bed by 10:30 and up at 5, gone at 6 (and he'll still be asleep then.)
Ran a load of laundry and uploaded the dishwasher at the same time, then biked and treadmill for exercise, then s2s, breakfast, checked in for our flight tomorrow (dh and I don't have seats side-by-side but are one in front of the other so may be to swap once on the completely full plane), hung out laundry and headed off the church.
Service 1 is done. A new person, church shopping, came today. He's turning 22 and looking the become a Christian, although he's been told he was baptised in our church (I promised to look up the records next weekend.) He's very odd and I'm sure there will be disapproval but we'll see. We've had other odd balls in the past so it won't be the first time the congregation has had to make allowances. It's good for them to see everyone as a child of God. Easy to say the words, harder to live them.
I've had my lunch, second load of laundry is in the washer, and my second service is in the car (left it here by accident.) Will take the clothes off the line, then nap until the second load is done. We leave in 50 minutes.

Re: Satisfying Sunday
Harriet...
I am feeling much better again this morning after using the tennis ball thingie. Plus the wedge shaped pillow seems to be helping as well. I like your hair scrunchie idea, but my hair isn't long enough to pull back
So far its been an interesting short experiment; two night's worth. I can sleep, but the balls do wake me up to some degree when I try to turn on my back. Still I am not waking up as tired as I was without the balls. Other interesting part of the test which really can't be explained is my most sever apnea...I think I stopped breathing 36 + times with each episode lasting more than 10 seconds...all within an hour... occurs at the time I am known to get up and eat. When the tech woke me to put on the CPAP mask I specifically asked the time.
I asked the doc about this...she thinks that my inability to deliver needed oxygen to my brain, lungs and heart is what wakes me up. By that point the hormones kick in and I get up to restart my body. That's her theory anyway. There are only theories about the sleep/eating response because its not really known why people do it.
All I know is all of this has to be connected somehow so I am keeping notes to see if there's a pattern going on. And I have felt much better yesterday and today....And I wasn't unusally hungry either.
Light is a big factor for me. I can't sleep well unless it dark. I have to cover anything in the room that has a light on it like a clock or radio especially if its an LED light. It drives Sweetie crazy because he likes to listen to his radio in the middle of the night. I usually cover whatever has a light in it with a wash cloth. And sunlight wakes me up the second it peeks over the horizon. We now have a sky light in our master bedroom and I have to keep the door closed so the morning light doesn't wake me up at 5:15. Sometimes I wear a eye mask to bed to block the light...won't I look cute now with tennis balls strapped to my back, an elephant hose hooked up to my nose and an eye mask to cover my eyes. It will take forever to get ready for bed
The other big contributor to poor sleep is air temperature. Sweetie and I go round and round about that. I have to fight to keep the night thermostat set to 77*. He is cold natured but can't stand covers so he sleeps in flannel pjs even in the summer...plus he doesn't like the overhead fan on. Studies show that the best night time temps for good sleep should be somewhere between 66-72 degrees. I sleep best in the winter...temps are down and the sun doesn't show up here till after 7. No wonder I like the winter months.
