Hopeful Thursday

Post by Harriet »

I have a plan, a bunch of cards, and a hope. - Harmony

Thought this was a great quote Sunday! Worth repeating.

We've all felt like this whenever starting a new plan or tweaking our existing plan.

I think others here have mentioned new organization of cards or other methods - helia, recently perhaps? angrygreycatreads has a new decluttering plan. It wasn't long ago that OKay changed her's up.

The first day of Sept is headed our way with a new-start chance, too.

What HOPE do you have for new plans?

Thanks Dee!

I got out of bed as soon as I woke up so I could email him greetings (and a present).

He had posted on facebook that he's a quarter century old. So I posted a picture of him with his century old great-gran. He was 2 at that point but that is the oldest picture I have of him on my computer. I had scanned it for the memory book project so had a copy with me.

Now to make tea and sit out on the balcony for a bit.

Been awake since 0 dark thirty! (3:30) DH was awake too. He finally went back to the recliner. I have a haircut at 10 & he sees cardiologist at 4:30. I'm waiting for dgs8 to wake up then will take him to dh.

I am hopeful about getting floors mopped today. Not going all out for dbil/dsil's visit but things are in pretty good shape. Just going to freshen the sheets. They've been stored since they were washed last fall. Of course all plans are contingent on dr's visit today. Worst case scenario would be for dh to land back in the hospital with his db here. Would make things even worse for me having them around! I will just be glad to get back to some normalcy next week. Amen.

Oh! Dee! WHY are you letting them impose on you. Tell them they can't stay with you. It is bad enough when your DH is well, but now it is unthinkable.

Neither of you will get any rest with them there and you both need it. Your DH to heal and you to take care of him.

Good Morning!

I was tired this morning and not ready to bounce out of bed. Need to get more sleep. I wrote out some choices and thoughts how to make this happen.

Although my body is dragging today, having a schedule keeps me moving forward and doing the things that matter to me. I was finished with devotions, walk, quick garden harvest and back into the house to wake LO up on time (7am).

This morning is Pioneer Day field trip for LO class. I will meet them there. Most are hand-on type exhibits. I am always fascinated by each one. Lunch will be eaten there before they return to school.

I'm undecided about helping to decorate the class parade trailer this afternoon. I'll see how many parents volunteer and make my decision then.

Ugh. I just saw several posts on FB about strep going around in local school. I'll watch LO and take him to doctor at first sign. I don't think getting over strep without meds is gonna happen easily.

Good morning, villagers ~

I've been trying to set up a FB page for the library group but FB is acting like a grumpy old codger today. I had to get away from it for a bit.

We are using ice at a tremendous rate and will stay hot in the upper 90s for several more days. However, on Monday a cold front is supposed to come through. DH says if they are right and it only gets up to 80 that day, we'll have to break out the winter coats. ;)

I have a library meeting tonight but otherwise nothing going on. Sooner or later I'll mix up chicken salad for supper. Might do a load of laundry and a few other chores. Otherwise I have a good book and a fan, and plan to enjoy both. 8-)

Good morning!

On the mornings dd2 teaches which is 3 a week, I will have the boys every other week for about 45 minutes. She will drop them off and then when it is time for school I will walk them across the street. She had not mentioned it, so I was beginning to think that her dh would just drop them at school on his way to the farm. Yesterday morning she called while she was on her way to town to ask if I could do that. Since dh was out of town, I was still in bed. I jumped up and dressed. My hair was sticking out but I wet down those areas and thought I was good to go. After we were across the street, dgs9 realized that he left his lunch bag on the bar, so I told him to stay put, I would get it. When I took it back, 3 kids were standing with him and he looked like he wanted to crawl in a hole. As I walked up to my door, I caught a glimpse of my hair and some of it was sticking out again. I was embarrassed to death for dgs9 and myself because of the parents dropping the kids off. I know that I have seen more than 1 mother look like she just crawled out of bed and delivered her kid to school, but I don't like to leave my house not put together. Every time I thought of it yesterday, I know my face turned red. Then I decided that dgs9 can be so rude to his mom when he is with his dad and won't speak to her after a game, I realized he had had a dose of karma via grandma. ;) I don't plan on that happening again. Today I was showered, dressed, hair done, makeup on and ready for the day when they got here.

Well I guess I better go run errands. I was going to buy groceries today but realized with the holiday that I wouldn't be going to the store again until Tuesday, so I decided to wait until tomorrow. The boys will be here again in the morning, so I will be ready for the day and can get a jump on grocery shopping as soon as I take them to school. By running errands today, I will have them out of the way instead of having so many places to go tomorrow. Better hit it..............

Lilac, I remember driving the girls to school with my slippers on many times; for some reason our kids are always embarrassed about their parents!

Dee I totally agree with MT. Don't let your inlaws push your buttons. You sound like they intimidate you for some reason, and they don't sound like the most considerate people to begin with. Oh, I know, we all do things we don't want to do sometimes, me included. If DH needs attention or help or (hopefully not) land in the hospital, please proceed as if they aren't here. What will happen if you get down also? Will your inlaws stay to take care of you both? Sorry, off my soapbox now.

I am printing some stuff out, I need to try to find some cheaper insurance for our rental house. They have it insured for $40,000 more than our replacement cost, at the time it was the only company who would cover it and insisted on that amount. Now we are eligible for other company to insure, so maybe I can get it cheaper.

Didn't wake up very chipper this morning. I usually feel better first thing in the morning. Oh well. I did get some more organizing done last evening, and I have my new diet/health plan all set up in new plastic box. I will share more if this works for me.
