I've been watering today.
Got the laundry sorted.
I read about net glitches shutting down commercial sites so
when the e~book would not load I did not worry I just went on to something else non-techie like pulling weeds.

I walked a mile... then, just as I was about ready to s2s, ds called, and he & dgs came over and I walked with them.
Two more miles.
Finally, s2s & went to the post office.
Now I have run out of steam and I don't want to do ANYTHING.
Should be ironing... and should be vacuuming b/c dh is out of the house (playing golf)... but I think I'm going to take a nap. After my all-day days w/dmom on the doctor trips, I just feel very tired and very selfish.
Tomorrow is another day.

Good afternoon everyone! My hope is that dFosterKitten gets well. I heard from the vet and they are going to try a new pill. Last night, I went to the church dinner and talked crochet with a friend and a new friend. I thought that the Bible study would start that night, but our pastor was out of town, so I was obviously mistaken. Afterward, I went home and did 45 minutes of weeding. There is more weeding to do, as always. I cleared out some boxes and made a find - my computer Scrabble game! Much time wasting ensued. Tonight, I am having dinner with a friend. There are also several DPCs that need to be made. I also need to email a schedule to a friend.

Cards and other chore-containment systems do make me feel hopeful. :) They are kind and good.

Today I told my "I-nearly-had-a-breakdown-over-lists" story to my young neighbor at lunch. The story in which I was an over-extended mom whose vehicle quit running 2 towns away, between the 2 children's separate same-day swimming lessons, with the yellow legal pad full of ~~~s~h~o~u~l~d~s~~~ beside me. By that evening I was in my mother's den staring out the window, crying. We then had a hurricane  that took everybody's daily routines and tossed them out for a week, so I got a clean slate, an attitude adjustment, and got better. Later on a different day of the swimming-lessons run, that same town's brilliant, saint-like librarian asked what I needed when I came through the door with a child on my hip and another by the hand. And I told her my truth and she told me hers  and I left with 2 of Pam and Peggy's books.

I hope some of what I said hit home, because I really don't want my neighbor to go on like this. She's reluctant to give up her double and triple pages on her 3 legal pads until every unusual one-time item on them is done. But I think I've convinced her that most things she does every day have a rotation aspect to them, and can be planned ahead, and grouped. I talked to her about cards being ONE way to begin trusting that she can rotate through chores and not forget or lose her place. And then she can move on to different ideas to personalize her own plan.

Geez, the only name I recognize on the list is Connor!

Back from dinner and another visit with my uncle. He really makes us laugh at times with his story telling. I can't remember what story it was now, but if it comes back to me, I'll share.

Drove by the condo/rental (both) development Ken wants to live in and looked at the first two finished buildings. No parking nearby but aside from that quite nice.

Our plan for the morning includes an early (for us) start, so I'm going to do some packing now. We've checked in for the flight and dh will go print the boarding passes in a minute.

I got that entire list done! I did finish up the room while dfriends were here for dinner, but they are more like family. I really like dphysics prof's dh; he is such a good match for her, so cheerful and funny!

The beef came out VERY hot, almost too hot for me to eat. <--- That is how I looked when I first tasted it. I had never used chipotle peppers in adobos sauce before. Dh, R, and M (physics' prof's dh -- he is also a physics prof, so that is kind of confusing. . ) liked it, while all the women, found it a bit much. Tortillas, cheese, and jicama helped tame the fire. It was well flavored, though.

Ds' dfriend is here. He is Austrian and has been here for 2 months, doing research or something at a lab here at the big U. Dd17's (and dd15's) friend is here. She is on drumline with dd15, so she brought her home after the game. It is almost 11 pm. . . Our house feels like grand central station sometimes, people coming and going all the time. I suppose I will miss that when the kids are gone. Or maybe I'll only sort of miss it. . .

We're considering hosting a German foreign exchange student for a month. . .. We'll see what happens there. We found a 15yo girl that we seem to like.

So glad you are meeting with your neighbor, Harriet. Have you given her Pam and Peggy's book?
