You all can fly through your routines today, while I fly home to mine.

We were awake at 7, and am almost ready to go to breakfast (my hair is wet and my personal standard is dry hair before going to a hotel breakfast although, in a pinch, I'll pull it into a pony-tail.)

Were in bed before 10. Dh slept almost 9 hours (he was only sleeping 8 at Whitepoint so this is an improvement.) He really needs to sleep more.

This morning is ferry ride, pick up some special soap for my senior friend, walk to a coffee shop, lunch back at the ferry terminal.

Then we'll walk back to the hotel (about 3/4 mile) and go up to my Uncle's for the afternoon. Car is due back at airport around 3:30. We don't have lounge access so may wait to cross through security. We land at dinner time in Ottawa and plan to meet up with ds but I'll need a light supper before that. I have an apple, an orange and some nuts so that may be enough.

Done breakfast and ready to pack up computer.

Once again, for the third time today (and I've been awake 3 hours) I'm awaiting the washroom. This is getting old and reinforces that we MUST have at least two washrooms wherever we go. I drink a lot and need to pee relatively frequently, although I go long periods of time once my morning tea is through my system. This affects dh's reading.

I am up and s2s-ed, have had my first mug of tea. I didn't go for a jog this morning; after going to bed at 12:30, I just couldn't drag myself out of bed early enough.

I'm leaving in 15 minutes to go to WW and possibly Target while I'm over there. Ds' friend is going to work this morning but leaving his stuff here and returning this evening to take it to his new place.

Dh and I are meeting friends downtown for dinner. Other than that, my calendar is open. Plenty to do, though. . . .

The long weekend for some is about to arrive.

Hope everyone who is traveling has a safe and pleasant trip.

It just dawned on me that Twins' Mom traveled to celebrate their anniversary.

Hope we hear from the DeeClutters.

helia, yes and she is at the library all the time with 2 children, so can consider the books.

Days are going well for me since I begin Morning Daily Card as early as 7 now, immediately following return from school run. I truly do stop at the one-hour mark, then, and have my fruit. That is working out well.

I was just brain-storming in Focus that our bedroom emphasis this weekend will need to be a deep clean of the smaller bedroom and it would be smart to rent a carpet cleaner. I need to spend time in my parents' house bedrooms, too, and take an inventory of sheets, for one thing.

The first week of school has been a doozy for dd, and her room shows it. It's astonishing how a teen's room can change so quickly from neat to cluttered. So she's really going to have to nip it in the bud! She has been preaching to herself that she's got to stay organized this year.

This [above mentioned] book is great like a newer version of some of the she books or getting things done & covey planner approach a very timely ready for me. I finished my first e-book from the library. I'm still learning my gal. tab. 3 it has some pros. & some cons. but I'm glad I got it for mobile stuff and the camera! I found it!

Thought I'd better get on the pc to get updates etc. the key board is nice but I figured I'd learn faster on the tab. 3 if I used it strictly for a day before getting back on here I"ll alternate between them as I learn.

Good morning, villagers ~
The thermostat in my office shows current temp at 88 and it's only 9 AM here. I just check a local tv station's forecast for today and it says some places in the area will reach actual temp of 100, and heat index reading throughout their whole viewing area of 100 to 107. Yikes.

OK, coping mechanisms. This afternoon I will run some errands because driving in the car with the a/c on will be cooler than sitting at home with only fans. I'll go somewhere for lunch now that the house is holding the heat from so many days in a row. The sewing group's meeting room has a/c so I asked permission to spend a couple hours there this afternoon to reorganize our storage cabinet. I have only 2 other priority stops to make, that will limit the number of times I'm getting out of the car into the heat.

DH has not wanted to put the a/c unit in the bedroom window this summer, so I'll leave it up to him to decide if he can get through tonight without it. Over the weekend we are supposed to cool 10 degrees, and then another 10 on Monday. My assumption is he won't want to bother lifting the heavy box for just 1 night, but I guess it will depend how his day goes at work. He mentioned last night that lots of his coworkers are taking today off for an extended holiday weekend, and he usually likes that situation for working on projects that need fewer interruptions.

I'll need to remember these sweltering summer days when I'm snowed in this winter.

Oops, I almost forgot the quick stops I have to make at the post office and bank. Those 2 will be hot, just running in for a couple minutes and then back to the car. Then a long drive to cool down. Must remember to get the insulated water jug from our camping gear and fill it with ice.

(((Bookie))) Take care during the high temps - remember to drink extra. (reminding myself) Right now (9am) our outside thermometer says 102. That sounds too high.- I think the sun is shining directly on the sensor (located on the east side of the house so it is in the shade during all but the morning hours)

Yes, definitely flying through routines today. I have been on schedule for the past 4 hours and am pleased with progress. I have even had time to do a few extra things - DGS16 and I txt back and forth making plans for tomorrow. Also as I was using battery operated blower to clear off mats, porch and sidewalks I thought how handy this tools is for a variety of uses. Which lead to thinking that it would be a good gift to give DMom and DMIL, so I got them ordered. I might give it to them as soon as it arrives.....but it would also make a good Christmas gift and it would be a relief to get those 2 gifts checked off as done.

Today is another social day with many hours spent away from home -
** 11:30 - go to school and help paint faces of LO and classmates (they are going to be clowns)
** 1:00 - parade
** 5:00 - family cook-out and swimming celebrating DMIL birthday
Hopefully we will have time to stop by local little town fair on the way home. It is always a enjoyable time visiting many that return for this yearly event.
