Labo(u)r Day Monday
It's a holiday in both countries.
It is also almost 8:30 and no-one has opened the Village. I guess we are all enjoying the holiday!

Re: Labo(u)r Day Monday
I'm up and not at it.
Made the bed, had my tea, took photos of good furniture I can live without and sent them to dd. She'll send back a list of what she wants and I'll start thinking about living without it. I'm going to be terribly short of bookcases if she takes all she's expressed interest in. Need to do another round of purging bookcases.
Dh and I discussed my kitchen desk yesterday since the boys needed a desk for their room. For a moment I thought I could part with it, but decided I can't. My dad made it for me and although it isn't in great condition because it is so well used, it is precious to me and I use it all the time. I have very fancy desks (one is mahogany, one is an oak roll-top and I have two secretaries, one walnut, one mahogany, plus my sister's small roll-top desk) but I use this one instead. It is small so I spread out onto the kitchen table when working because it is just large enough for my laptop, a light and a file folder, not all the books I use as reference. The other desks are far more practical but this will stay. Dh and I worked out where, in theory, it will go in the new place. Because it is small, it could go in a wide hall, but most likely it will be in the spare bedroom unless we end up with a large kitchen (not likely at all!)
Ds is home and asleep in our spare bedroom. That makes work for me this week because I have guests coming on Thursday night so will have to wash the sheets, but I wanted him to sleep well today because he's on a short shift changeover and only home for 7 hours.

Re: Labo(u)r Day Monday
Good morning, dear friends.
Kathryn, that's a wise use of the camera.
I slept well and am grateful for a holiday. I think our whole family really needed this 3-day weekend.
As far as I know, we'll have no more company this weekend, so it's time to get the household on track for the week. I will be headed to an appt in the morning, so good attention to some chores today will be important. Linens washing is "up".
Focus cleaning changes to bathrooms today and decluttering in office/other, so that leads me right into... ...
It's Desk Day and I need to make sure we're on track.

Re: Labo(u)r Day Monday
Good Morning!
I woke up earlier than normal and was ready to start the day. I've followed my timeslots for the first 4 hours and feel good about what I have spent my time doing.
Just like the other 365 days, today is a work day for us. DH is in MPB attic doing some repairs - hopefully he will get them done before it gets too hot.
LO is still running around in his PJ's He is enjoying a holiday from his normal doings.
Next up -
** Kitchen cleaned up and lunch prep
** Laundry finished to put away
** Papers logged

Re: Labo(u)r Day Monday
Good morning! I am drinking tea after my morning jog. I don't think I ever got here yesterday? It was a whirlwind. In the morning, we went to our sister church in inner-city Detroit and then to a nearby recommended Mexican restaurant for lunch. Once home again, I did relax for a bit, even napped a little. Later, I did my vacuuming chore, dfriend R came over and he walked w/ dh and me to WF for bread. After dinner, I took the girls and picked up ds and E (his roommate and bf) and we all went to the movies. It was a mediocre movie, but we all knew that going in. It was an enjoyable outing anyway! Dh was going to join us but ended up stuck at work last night. We got home around 11:15.
Tonight, we are finally celebrating my bday!! About 2 months late. S can actually join us, which is somewhat of a miracle. She is very busy with beginning of the year start up activities for her job.
Dfriend B just called, and she's going to come over later this afternoon, and we're going to go for a walk. Maybe we'll walk through the new shopping area!! I need to go to the groc. store today. I also hope to get in some yardwork and start working in ds' bedroom in preparation for German girl -- unless we're not approved.
Thinking of (OK)) processing new info. I suppose Twins and Twinsdad are home now? I hope they're feeling refreshed and ready for a new start!
I'm off to s2s and get the a.m. routine done.

Yes, Helia, we got in late in the afternoon yesterday. I was up around 8:30ish and have mostly been relaxing. Breakfast (prepared quiche from our stop at "farmers market" yesterday), have walked ddogs and started getting my head back together. Today the big "must dos" are laundry and groceries; I'm sure there are more but that's a good start.
Dh has gone to office and is having a massage this afternoon.

Re: Labo(u)r Day Monday
Thank you for the birthday greetings!
I think I'm in techie heaven I have the p/c going and I"m checking the tablet too! LOL! The tablet is beside me charging up.
Found an I- Pod arm band holder and thought some one at dson's house might use it [ for 40 cents ] I could not go wrong! Got a kindle case for 60 cents hoping to have it work until I can get a case for my tablet.
Found a walking stick for under $10 with a compass in it!
Used that on my walk last night.
Buffet was great yesterday for my free bday meal.
Then the fire trucks came up the street a camper caught on fire in transit. So a bit of excitement here.
We went to see iron man 3 yesterday too that was fun!
Got Rx refills, h. got some work shoes too.

Re: Labo(u)r Day Monday
I'm dressed so need to get to work. It is wet outside but not raining so dh and I should move the tables into the garage from the shed. My dad made major folding tables for his canvas projects (making covers for the trailer and boat) and we snagged them because they seemed useful.

Re: Labo(u)r Day Monday
It's nice today's Labor Day and a holiday, so we can relax. DH won't need to get firewood with his dfriend.
Schools start tomorrow around here, too. Glad we don't have to worry about that anymore.
We have a "crazy" week ahead of us with my 3-hour stint in the dental chair, fasting labs and our 43rd wedding anniversary, too. Also, DH gets wood on Wed. and Fri., I need to work, too, and I'm still feeling somewhat of a let-down from grandsons staying every other week from July 4 - Aug. 24. Maybe once school starts and Autumn arrives, that' will change.
Planning on afghan crochet, letter-writing and working on some stories today. I don't think I've got enough laundry for a load, but want to wash our sheets.
Happy Labo(u)r Day, Everyone!
