Sorry Norma - DUH - that is a falcon not a dove for your avatar. Guess I'm the birdbrain. Anyway - I'm hanging in there on the book.

Waiting for a call back from our Dr. When they did the chest x-ray when he fell - they found something in his chest and recommended a CT scan. I want our Dr. to compare those x-rays to the ones he had done in March and see if it can wait till we get back or should we do something on the road. I first have to argue with nurse that it has nothing to do with the fall - that the x-ray was ok for bones etc. and that this is something separate.

Well, if I were to go see Cowinkie, Mr. Guy would go too and then nothing would be solved except no smoke And not only that, Cowinkie and Sweetie are getting ready to leave. I will just tough it out and do the best I can. When I just ignore him, that makes him mad and he just yammers at me more.

Your question re: chores, etc. was not dumb... but there are just some things that seem to always fall my lot. I don't think dh has EVER balanced the checkbook in his life. I mean, he will subtract checks if I've left that undone, and he probably reconciled his statement when he was single, but that was almost 34 years ago... so... yeah... this apparently is my job.
He does help w/errands, grocery shopping, dishwasher, garbage, laundry, misc stuff outside. He's not always just sitting and watching me do the work.

This author is a bit like Michener in that you get a lot of background info, that, while interesting, doesn't move the story line along.

I don't think I've ever read any of Michener's books, but dmom wants to read them, and tries to read them, and says the same thing! She wanted to read Alaska and Texas, especially, after visiting Alaska and practically moving to Texas... but she definitely cannot strain her brain to follow all the background right now.
I am pleased to say I finally convinced her to start watching Downton Abbey, and she LOVES it. I knew she would.

Harriet, dmom may assume she gave me that $$ for my birthday... but she definitely would not think I didn't care for it, LOL!!! I'm just going to try to forget about it if she doesn't come up with something tomorrow. I know she didn't do it on purpose. This year has just been a total blur for her and she cannot keep her mind focused on anything for more than 10 minutes, I think. THAT is what is REALLY driving me crazy... but it HAS TO improve, right? *** PLEASE, SOMEONE TELL ME IT IS GOING TO IMPROVE!!! *** Oh my goodness... it HAS TO improve.

DGS is NOT a happy camper. Ds/ddil forgot the pack n play, so he is somewhat TRAPPED in his bouncy seat. * sigh *

Harriet, I agree with you how the TOTH or BOTH makes you more attentive to what you're accomplishing.

I got out dinner stuff, clothes for tomorrow, wrote to do lists for the next 2 days, as they'll be "crazy days" with lots for me to remember.

Kitty cat seems to love treats, so I only give them to her when I have my late a.m. antibiotic or at noon. She keeps trying to butter me up for more, by being extra sweet. You know the ploy. Rubbing on my lower legs, jumping up on the end table, to get closer to my arm, looking cute at me.... I feel with dry cat food in 2 places, with 1/2 can of canned food at dinner, which she has scheduled now for 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. how she gets enough to eat. She's not overweight; not underweight, but wouldn't like her to gain either.

It's time to fix dinner. I might crochet some more on dgd's afghan, too.

Granny duty is over. Dinner is done.
I have taken my walk with a friend long one we do most nights.
I fed the hens their dinner,
Loaded the dish washer. Need to sort laundry, join K in C in vacuuming, sweeping and mopping.

I did get the bed made.
The bathroom looks pretty good.
Tomorrow I need to see if I can sign up for cloud or drop box app. On this to put pics. in

I am enjoying the on faith based app. With prayers and verses that come several times a day sure helps with my perspective!
I heard that black Fri. & the first day of Hannaka Are on the same day this year.

Anyway... I did get the checkbook to balance, no mistakes in my addition/subtraction this time, which is ALWAYS a huge relief to me. And why why why can I not remember that this chore is about 1000 times easier if one does it the very day the statement arrives in the mail??? Good grief. It seemed like I had a million outstanding checks.

My granny duty is over, too, Nancy... ds & ddil just left. And they brought us Krispy Kreme doughnuts, too!
All the toys/etc are put away.
Now, to bake some cookies. And maybe read a bit after I get them to the waiting on the oven part.

yoga this am. as they use tools or aids I took my "wand" - a couple of short lengths of vac pipe with a sock ball tied to one end - To assist pushing my arm where it does not readily go.

weeded a strip beside the house in the sun - between untangling dog on his running lead. With the fences down he can get to new places .... Holes for posts are dug for my fence. I asked for a copy of the materials costs when they have taken off the posts for another neighbour. I need to not sweat about this.

My innards are recovering from the preservative in the paracetamol (I suspect that at least.) Soon I'll try the other brand without the sulphates so hoping that works, though truly - I don't think it makes a lot of difference to pain levels, esp as I cut back to 1/2 dose as last tests showed my liver acting up a little, very unusual for me. Least I'll have something to take if my headache gets out of control.
