GOOD MORNING! Here is to a lovely sunrise today! Filled with hope and joy! I slept well. Our pastor put a post about the game. I was going to go to church but we do not have a dvr.

I have fed and let out the hens.

Thanks for opening the thread, Nancy. We had a pretty sunrise here, too.

We are back in a heat wave.

Today DH and I are going up to a birthday lunch for DMIL. Supposedly all of DH's siblings and spouses will be there, which will be fun. Should also be as many nieces and nephews as don't have to work today. We saw them all in June. It will be good to hear an end-of-summer check-in from everyone.

DMIL loves going out for pizza, so that's what we're doing for her birthday.

Wow, quiet morning in the village. I woke up in a not-too-great mood this morning as I wanted to sleep until I woke up - dh and ddogs got me up just before 9 a.m. tho. Dh, dd and I went to the market this morning - I only got flowers but we ran into several people that we know and visited. Dh is mowing the back yard again as it was too long and left a lot of cut grass - going over it again neatens it up and helps the grass catcher to pick it up so we don't have big clumps. He's planning to watch some football with a neighbor this afternoon also.

I need to take dd to catch the mega bus back just before 3 p.m.

Yes, it is a quiet day in the village. A nice contrast to my IRL village!

Successful day. Baked muffins (they came out of the oven at 7:30) and then discovered I didn't need them for the church coffee hour, there was more than enough food. The 2.5 dozen were almost all gone by the end of the luncheon at the other church, though, so it wasn't a waste.

Good church service, uninspiring but solidly delivered and she'll relax more as time goes by.

Sunday school started strongly, and the children came back up at the end of the service (unusual) so I stopped the service just before the sung blessing and called them forward (being in the choir loft, I can talk over the minister at any time because I'm above/behind the pulpit.) They had a big Welcome poster for the new minister, so they presented it to her.

I had a quick board meeting at my church while dh did the introduction at the second church.

I then brought over one of the three boys to join us for lunch, the other two stayed with their dad, and the church musician was surprised when she came down after service to find one of her kids there.

The luncheon was a big success. Over 30 people stayed (this is not a church where people tend to hang around after) and the minister got a chance to meet many people.

Cleanup was quick (many hands) and so we have a whole hour to rest before our next event.

Good Morning, Villagers!

I've s2s, fixed my shampooed hair, and worked on my calendar. I did my peak flow meter, which was 350 today, which is fine, and I plan on doing a load of whites/pastel clothes (mainly socks/underwear), then sheets, and THEN master bathroom rugs! I said I'd do them yesterday, but the day got away from me, I totally forgot, so it didn't get done. I got "sidetracked".

It's sunny here, will be nice today and this week, so DH will get firewood on M-W-F. He will go to Costco/grocery store on Tues., a retirees luncheon on Thursday. He keeps quite busy, but today it's pro-football. Seahawks are playing now.

I'm trying to decide if I should work on writing stories or take the day off because it's Sunday and I like to renew my spirit. I could crochet, write letters, and journal. But then again, stories are my bread and butter, so I hate putting them to the side, afraid I'll lose my momentum on them. I'll think it through and might "switch" between:
1- Doing letters,
2- Journal writing, renewing my spirit,
3- Reading,
4- If there is time or a feeling of urgency, then write on a story.

We all need a day off now and then, to just be "ourselves" and to re-group. Living at home, working at home, is hard because my work is living with me.

Church was good this morning. We ended up sitting in the second over flow area because everything else was packed.

Lunch was chinese take-out.

I am debating on switching MPB accounts to Quickbooks. I'm trying to think through the pros and cons of doing it. Although, I suspect I'm just using this decision to not work on the current MPB accounting system, which works very well WHEN I USE IT. Sept tax deadlines are looming.

DH and LO are napping. I wish I could nap during the day. I try but very rarely succeed.

I was going to go to church until pastor posted about dvr -ing the Seahawks game.
I purged the personal papers in a secure way h. Was SO glad that is done! Yea for progress on the office zone.

This morning that I got a rose bush moved.

I have 2 loaves of zucchini - banana bread out of the oven. So the house smells great now. I have been working on the kitchen.

Read a mag. This morning for some down time. Trying to get my hair dry now.

Don't understand how that kept you from going to church.

DH not doing as well today. Went back to bed around 11 after getting up at 9. He just got up to take a shower to see if that helps. He is really tired. I keep telling him that is his body trying to heal.

I was able to get dishes done and picked up a few footsteps. Next up is filling meds containers for the next 2 weeks.
