My thoughts are happy ones today..... I'm here at the hospital with dh. The test he had this morning showed good results and he may be going home this afternoon. Right now he is busy eating his lunch!
Ivy....appliances don't seem to last as long as they used to. Sorry to hear you have to shop for a new fridge!
Fig Newtons is one of my favorite cookies! I've never had fresh ones, though. I just might try them next trip to grocery!
((Hugs)) for your dfamily, Sadie.
Oh, Twins, I'm so sorry that happened to you, but glad you are all right. Those things do happen so quickly!

Re: Thursday thoughts
Happy for Mr. MT's news!! Happy also for Mr. Sunny!! Yes, happy dances. . . .
Glad the accident wasn't worse, Twins.
My thought for today is that it is hard to wear many different hats at moms group. I was barely done checking with the children's rooms, making sure the teachers had what they needed, etc. when the women were milling about in the meetings room - and I hadn't even made the decaf coffee.
I brought Caribou coffee this week, so at least there was something to start with. Thankfully, other leaders were very helpful in setting up. Then, I did all the introductions and logistics in the meeting. Then, I participated in a skit. One of the other leaders did the mid-morning check to make sure that all was OK in the kids' rooms, with staff/child ratios too. Other than the 2s room which was quite full, there weren't many children today. Maybe a lot of the moms had their babies in the moms' meeting room with them and maybe a lot of moms have school aged children. Afterward, I went through the craft supplies with the craft coordinator, took out the garbage from each room, did regular clean up in the room where the moms meet -- and again, I got a lot of help. *phew* I am acting as both steering committee chair and childcare coordinator - until we can find a coordinator. Thankfully, I don't have responsibilities as a teacher - yet.
I've had lunch. Girls will be home in 25 minutes. I'll try to get the a.m. routine finished in the meantime. I'll try to get to the gym this afternoon too.
Tonight, I think I may take GG to the high school football game to watch dd15 and the marching band. It could be a good cultural experience for GG - and myself. Dh left for Dallas this a.m. I've cancelled Th. dinner group tonight.

Re: Thursday thoughts
WONDERFUL NEWS!!! So very happy MT & Sunny DH's tests came back clear.
Twins! Ack! I'm glad no one was hurt. Hopefully the hassle of repairing vehicles will go smoothly.
After taking LO to school, I ran to the grocery store to buy some hamburger meat for tonights meal. However, I ended up bringing home 30 lbs of meat in addition to the hamburger meat! It seemed like a good idea until I got it all home and started thinking about getting it all cooked today. I got busy and got started on it. The crock pot is stuffed full of BBQ ribs. Four large baggies of meat are in process of marinating. The grill is going to be very busy in a couple hours.
The FB planner addict group is a constant inspiration but also a huge temptation for sidetracker like me. I may have to hide their post from myself.
My creative side is fired up and considering several ways of using some of their ideas.

Re: Thursday thoughts
Thursday thoughts... Thursday thoughts... Hmmm... Well, I am thinking I'm glad I'm s2s before 2:00 p.m. Didn't walk b/c yard man is here.
I've also done a load of laundry and talked to dmom on the phone. A few more thank yous to write, quite a few to address, and then I think my part will be done.
Dmom had forgotten that Monday was her next doctor's appt. * sigh * She is really working fast and furious on tax stuff. Is it due the 15th, Twins? She has to file quarterly business accounts, PLUS she had left a LOT undone from last year, I think. She is in quite a tizzy.
SOOOO SOOOO glad to hear Mr. MT & Mr. Sunny got good reports.
(((Ivy))) for refrigerator woes... It's always something, isn't it?
(((BookSaver))) for library meeting woes. Ditto. I hate being involved in something like that.
Hope the men at your house feel much better soon, Sadie.
Ooohhh, (((Twins))) I am so sorry about the fender-bender! Glad no one was hurt!
Termite man is coming this afternoon, plus we have to go to post office and show photo id to update records, etc. I don't know what is going on up there. DH got all in a tizzy about THAT, and says ds must go also, b/c he still gets some mail there and we want him to pick up our mail sometimes... along w/ddil... but ddil worked last night and is sleeping. She's not going to worry about post office, I can assure dh. It seems kinda crazy.
And why do people fuss about photo id to vote??? If you have to have photo id to get mail, and buy cigarettes and beer, why on earth couldn't you come up with a photo id to vote? * sigh * Rant over.
helia, my head is just completely spinning after reading your activities... * whew *
Mmmm... something smells good at OKay's house...
Congratulations to Kathryn's dd & dsil on new home!

Re: Thursday thoughts
Also wanted to say thanks for the reassurance, Kathryn, re: thank you note signatures.
(((Nancy’s dgd))) I feel so sorry for kids who are stressed in school, b/c I was such an anxiety-prone child in elementary school… and then again for a while in high school. Well, probably always. I do seem to be doing better now, but that’s probably because I can just avoid so many of my “triggers” now.
WTG, Lilac!!!
OH – another ta da for me – I scrubbed dh’s shower floor. The walls could use a little more attention, I must admit, they were not in nearly as bad shape as the floor, so I stopped at that.
WTG, Harriet, on your workout and your attention to family – cards, phone call, etc.
Hope all goes well for Harmony today, too!
Now… I guess I must get to work on something.

Re: Thursday thoughts
Hi everyone! My computer is fixed. Wish I could say it was my own brilliant doing, but it was my boss'. When I got to the animal org meeting, there were only two of us, not enough for a meeting. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to get back to the Bible study. My house is nice and clean thanks to the maids, now I just have to keep it up. I also need to organize in places and a bit of decluttering. I am declaring the sewing room to be a dungeon, with the goal of picking up or throwing out 3 items in it per day. I put away some of the things in the kitchen that needed to be in the shed. When I got outside, I realized that one of my dead trees had fallen and now I have to find a way to get rid of it. I am thinking 'a little bit at a time' and will start tonight. Normally, I have art class on Thursdays, but this time I had a church meeting, so I told them I would not be there. However, they cancelled that and I am going to work on the dead tree, weeds, and dungeon. Oh yeah, and checkbook!
I really missed being able to check in with the village last night. I SO wanted to tell someone I FIXED my showerhead. XDH used to do that sort of thing in our house, and I always get such a feeling of accomplishment when I do something and DON'T need him.
I have finally done and sent the new write-ups about the foster kittens for the big adoption event this weekend.
TwinsMom: I was very sorry to hear about your accident. Those are always such a pain in the tailbone!
Very glad to hear about Mr. MT and Mr. Sunny.
ETA: Last night, I got the kittens' claws clipped in preparation for the adoption clinics this weekend! They didn't like it much, but they did like the special treat afterward. I am hoping they remember the treat next time.

Re: Thursday thoughts
Yes, Lucylee, the third estimated tax payment for 2013 is due Monday - it's so nice not to be worrying about that right now! OTOH, I still need to finish up our tax return for last year - I have until Oct 15 and told dh I wouldn't work on it until after Yom Kippur (which is Saturday.)
Ooooooh, more temple drama stuff. More later.
