LAST MONDAY OF SUMMER

Post by DeeClutter »

Enjoy it.

Dh has gone out to start the car. He has cardiac rehab at 7:30. Little early for me. We have a remote starter, but evidently mine is dead. Well, it is 7 years old.

Dawn is breaking.

Need to make the bed and do up our dishes. However, don't think it will get done until this afternoon.

Dh's weight (& swelling) is continuing to climb. So will be interesting to see what they say at rehab this morning.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

I'm up early but slept well all night thanks to Harriet and the reflux diet she posted. I made myself a serving of oatmeal with milk and honey (per the permission of the diet) and it calmed down the reflux. I didn't take any meds for my headache so that is still with me.

Don't know if I mentioned that it has turned cold here so added the bedspread (heavy quilted) back on the bed and I slept in sweats last night. Helped not to get cold I think.

Hoping meds come in the mail today. Ordered on the 9th and they were shipped on the 10th. So they should be here today. Then tomorrow we move to my sister's town for her birthday.

Hope you all have a great Monday.

MT Glad you slept better.

Dee we've missed getting updates on dh. Sorry he isn't getting rid of that excess fluid, yet.

I'm up but not s2s because I'm lazy. Have made the bed and put away the dishes and am having tea and chocolate.

Dh's alarm will go off in a few minutes so I'm hoping to catch him for a moment before he heads off at 6:45 for work (training class he's presenting.) Not sure why work is starting so early but it is for a military contractor so that might have something to do with it. They are usually the only ones who show up on time when we have an 8:30 a.m. start!

I'm getting excited at the thought we'll have some money coming into the business bank account. This is the first major income for the fiscal year, which began on April 1. We get some royalties from the online courses and that added up to a few thousand so far, but it isn't enough to pay the accountants and insurance, let alone salary.

Up and about here - I slept way too late after asking dh to wake me up at seven when he left. (He spoke to me, and I do remember, but I just dozed back away.)

So I need to get rolling here....

-change clothes and walk dogs first while it's cooler
-breakfast
-meds me + dogs
-refill meds
-make the bed

Follow up on li&t from yesterday:
To do before tomorrow afternoon:
-clean out car, wash it
-front porch, back patio clean up - done mostly, could use a little more spiffing
-routines around the house - in progress
-dd's room cleaned up and welcoming
-purge refrigerator
-groceries
-catch up on our laundry - in progress
-what else?

((Emptynester)) whew. I know how it feels to look at the night falling and the pillow, and think, "am I going to hurt tonight?". :?

Sigh. Kathryn and Mods, would you please check after my housekeeping this morning? I seem to be leaving some dust around the village, and perhaps have forgotten how to use my broom correctly.

Good morning everyone! ◇ I'm watching the news of the
Active shooter at the West Va. Naval base. ◇ I am glad for the breaking news app that is effective for me.
I need to get going on my BWP , this sort of interrupted my QT how ever.

From the maintenance logs, I'm guessing MT dealt with Harriet's concern. If not, let me know.

I'm dressed, have eaten breakfast and watched the last episode I needed to in order to be ready for this evening's finale of The Amazing Race Canada. Ds and I watched the Nova Scotia episode over dinner last night and he enjoyed it because he'd been to the places covered.

Now I should get going on the very long list of things to do this week.

Last night, ds carried up all my clothes that might fit from the basement so everything I can fit into is in my room right now (with dh away, it is the perfect time to tackle this task.) My goal is to get all my clothes into my dresser and cupboard. Ideally, I should also get dh's things into our closet as well but I'm not sure that will happen. He got rid of 2/3 of his things, so I'm hoping I can do the same. To prepare, I'm going over minimalist wardrobe blog posts to get myself into the right mindset. Thankfully, I don't have a lot clothes from our travel, but I have memories of where I've worn a lot of the things I own.

Edited to add: formal wear doesn't count in this challenge.

Done with that round...
-reboot laundry
-clear kitchen table
-put pads on bottom of breakfast bar stools
-clean stove top
-purge refrigerator

Ooooh, I need to brace myself to get dd's room finished up. That really s/b my first priority today.

Cheering Twins' Mom along. You can do it!

Kathryn, yes, Emptynester got that stubborn (to me) bit of housekeeping under control.

We had to go check on Nancy's mention of the news today, of course, and I was thinking it was going to turn out to be no big deal maybe, but certainly went from bad to worse as we listened. HRH fell asleep on the couch watching, so I know he's still affected by the meds quite a bit. I'm glad he's getting rest, though. I really ought to make him go out and play, like a child who needs to have some sunshine and fresh air after being cooped up.

I'm on my third load of laundry of the morning, since I'd gotten behind while dealing with ER and such.

Good morning! today feels utterly like a Monday. . . what can I say? I am tired. The weather is gray - not warm and not cold. I feel bleh. I believe I am fighting a very low-level UTI, so low-level I think I'd feel silly going to the Drs. I'm drinking a lot of water and taking my cranberry capsules. (I don't think my feeling bleh is related to the possible UTI. . .) I did go for a jog with dh this morning. I kept it short and just jogged for 2.5 WW pts. worth. . .. I didn't feel like jogging, that feeling didn't change, and I didn't jog particularly well.

Is visiting educator arriving tomorrow, Twins? That is very kind of you to host her. Wondering what the Dr. will say about Mr. Dee. Waving to others.

The weekend ended up being busier than my calendar made it look. Saturday: church meeting all morning, groc. store, jog with dh, make supper w/ dh (which was good, btw!), drive for an hour taking dd15 to sleepover location. I did get 2 lols done. Sunday was social: pick up dear friend visiting from out of town - out of the country actually. (This is the Singaporean friend who showed us around when we visited Singapore; while she was in town doing her grad work, she attended our church. Then, she finished and moved back to her home country.) Then, church and SS until 12:15, home for lunch for us and dfriend, drive her back to her friend's place where she's staying, sleep for 1.5 hours, talk on phone to dmom for 40 minutes, S and R here for dinner and a trip to DQ. . . . .

It is almost 11 a.m. and I'm not done with my a.m. routine yet. Tori's mom should be here soon to pick her up. She's coming back next weekend, I believe.

Some goals for today:
- finish a.m. routine.
- finish menu plan and groc. list
- groc. store
- some emails
- a DPC
- curriculum night at the high school tonight; dh and I will have to prioritize classes/teachers to figure out how to visit the classes of the 3 girls. Obviously, we can't get to all the classes. Where oh where is Hermione's time turner when one needs it? ;)
- dd15 has drumline tonight; we'll likely drop her off as we go to curriculum night. this means we need to eat early.

Dinner: tuna pasta, salad, bread

I'm off. I hope to post accomplishments later.
