WEDNESDAY APOLOGIES TO BLESSEDW2

Post by DeeClutter »

Oops! Absolutely failed to wish blessedw2 a Happy Birthday yesterday. For some reason I was thinking there was nothing till next week. So we can all "pretend" that today is the 17th -we get an extra day this month!

Just finished cooking steel cut oatmeal. Thanks, MT. Going to eat, dress and head out for dh's rehab. Have an appointment after that with our financial advisor. Then the day is free until 5. Having coffee on neighbors deck to say goodbye to some other friends. They aren't leaving until Saturday (they usually are the last to leave!) but we couldn't work out a time later in the week.

Will be very glad to figure out this site on my laptop as it's very hard to type on this. Guess that's why we got a new computer in the first place. It's a very slow thinker and I have to CONSTANTLY back track to correct words.

Have a good morning everyone!
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Happy Birthday to Blessedw2!
are all your cards digital now, or do you still have paper 3 x 5s? How many are there in total?
All my cards are digital now. I do still have analog SHE box set up with a couple hundred 3x5" cards. I frequently feel drawn to return to using it, but the amount of cards I use makes it unfeasible. I currently have 1044 digital cards. However, I only "see" the cards that are due and overdue. I use Excel conditional format to automatic highlight the cards that are due today. Cards that are overdue automatically have the font turned red. The majority of the cards are light grey color until the day before they become due, then they are automatically changed to dark grey.

I'm up but not on schedule. I would really like to go back to bed, but that isn't an option so I will just do the best I can. It is days like this that the cards are most valuable.

Don't want to think? No problem. Just do the next card.

I've been up for over an hour and have had bfast and responded to some emails and watched some videos posted on fb. I had to look up the Costa Concordia, just b/c I had no idea what it was. Now I do! I do remember that accident.

today, I am meeting ds for coffee mid-morning, so I'm excited about that! :) I haven't seen him for a couple weeks. Dd15 has an oboe lesson at 4 and I have a high school music program meeting at 7 pm tonight. We're eating leftovers tonight. That will help clear out some of the stuff in our fridge. Between these things, I'll try to exercise in some shape or form. It may just be the gym. I also need to make one DPC. A tidy of the living areas might be nice, as would getting my van cleaned out - if there's time.

I'm not sure what dh is doing; he's still in bed, but he went to bed late last night, at 1:35 a.m. He's working on a talk he's giving Friday night at dfriend S's Christian University group. Her kids really like him for some reason. They invite him to give a talk almost every year. He has asked me to do a bit of analysis on 2 Hebrew words for him. Maybe I'll do that today with the limited resources I have; I really need a better lexicon. I just need to order the big one my prof. recommended, though some friends like another one. . .

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, Dear Blessed!! Always love to see you here. :)

I was at first convinced Dee was wrong this morning, but she's quite right. I thought blessed's bday was today  and in fact, I thought the entirety of the 17th of the month was today. Sigh. I may not be calendaring as well as I think.

I actually put the Morning Daily Card to the side (gasp!) and Desk Day at the first of the morning today. Frankly, I've been having some trouble with Desk Day, as it relates to all the estate stuff. It's much more complicated than at first thought. I decided with so many parts to consider for the whole, I would do best with early morning thinking! So the dining table was spread with papers for a while. Now I can choose to either call it a day on that, or perhaps go ahead to the bank to find a notary for a couple papers today.

Yesterday, I think, became a "lost day" with dstepson here most of the day to reassure himself that his Dad was okay. Absolutely love to have him, and in fact he brought brunch/lunch for us, and helped by going on an errand. But the Desk Day work I'd intended just wouldn't "gel" in my brain with an extra person in the house, no matter how familiar.

There are other ways I can tell I'm close to rebelling against Desk Day, at least estate part/death things. There's a letter, also in a #10 business envelope, but from my dmother's cousin to me. In my head, I know it is only because she wrote a full width letter as her sympathy greeting about my ddad's death, and required help getting it into an envelope with our address and mailing. It's not a scary thing! It's probably charming and nostalgic and sweet! But it's lying on the dining table and I just won't open it. I think I'm at least rebelling against #10 business envelopes! The next family member who comes home is going to be recruited to read and appreciate dear cousin's letter.

Happy Birthday Blessed

today
yoga - attempted to follow first 30 min then gave up and totally did my own thing . Lying down. lots of leg / hip and arm shoulder traction type moves. fell asleep in the meditation segment - just briefly. Gym is moving across town this week end, and only keeping 1 yoga class. I'm feeling miffed. My membership goes til July next year. Maybe I go to pilates class the owner runs and just totally do what I feel to as a 2nd class to attend. .
home for lunch. Phone call - caught up w a friend and debriefed on my wayward brain that went awl yesterday.
(Physio just leaves me rattled and frazzled. He attempted manipulation of my frozen shoulder - that orthopeadic doc said was going ok - and I end up quiet discouraged, while doc leaves me wanting to try and being hopeful. btw the mri estimate of width of the full thickness tear was 1cm, while the ultra sound had it as 2.3 x 2.1cm- So unless the estimates are wildly out then it may well be healing. Mri report says mild effusion only so I will not think it is all set in stone. I have one more physio appointment before I go to orthopedic screening clinic. I think that will just mean more physio with a different department. Did I mention i hate change. Anyway - I'll go with the hope of improvement as orth doc and I agreed there is teeny improvements in function most weeks - even if physio says I am cheating by using other muscles to help with my arm becoming functional. sliding a small window, brushing my hair - are current targets. I have mastered light switches and fridge / microwave door opening even if it is with difficulty. Doc says to see how functional it is after 6 months. Physio seemed annoyed with that - like it ort be better now.
Anyway - end result is pain and lots of it today. Talking to friend who had broken her shoulder years ago helped today. Also healing may take way over 6 mths from other reports. Also to expect pain and difficuty pushing it further.)
went late to mtg and caught up with someone to talk to. I'm meant to phone her and I don't very often.
Got button holed by another who is feeling the absence of our pdoc on long service for another month. He hasn't seen anyone in the mean time and it shows. He's had significant brain injury in the past. Finally said I needed to go for nana nap. I did sleep til nearly 5. then still had to walk dog.
pulled 2 weeds today and am counting that.
Washed some dishes.
Late to lights and screens off again. I aim to get off line an hour ago.

Have a good day everyone.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

I do want to point out that while the SHE village can pretend it is yesterday, those of us interacting with the real world will need to remember it is Wednesday. I'm having a hard time with the days of the week, so wanted to say this aloud!

I'm up. Not s2s. Didn't put away the dishes in the dishdrainer because I didn't wash the dishes last night. They are soaking in hot water now.

Ds is up and off for a run (he's doing a half marathon on Sunday and this is his second run in prep for it after 6 weeks of not running at all - not sure how this is going to go but suspect his time will be a lot longer than last year!)

I've had my tea and chocolate.

Ragged on someone at the debt blogging site. They seem allergic to numbers so either don't have, or are not sharing a detailed financial picture. It is hard to see progress (not that there's been much but it is only 2 months into their blog) if we can't see that aside from the debt they've told us about there is a ton of other debt that they've chosen not to think about.

Speaking of finances, mine are a mess so that's a priority today. As well as finishing the service (but not sermon) for Sunday.

I'm trying hard not to rebel by just taking the day off today. I've felt so busy and was distressed last night with dh because he asked if I had called the dentist about the sensitive tooth, and I snapped about how I haven't had time to do hardly anything beyond taking care of others (people and dogs) and temple biz. I really thought that I'd have additional bandwidth after HHD were over - there's a mental block about doing things then because everything at temple is busy - and to find myself with a houseguest, even a charming one that's not here all day - is taking a toll on me.

Yesterday was here to there to here again and there again. The must dos for today are:
-pick up at cleaners
-call and pick up dMacs thyroid meds at vet

I can't believe it's already 10 a.m. I don't know what time pick up is for houseguest this evening, but dh is supposed to do it. I was up at seven and at least did some of a.m. routine before getting her to JCC. (about 20 minutes one way, by the time I go in and say hello it's probably 50 minutes...)

Happy Birthday to Bw2!

reread a little of my post and got all embarrassed at myself

I ain't afeared. :|

So, I made two more of the DPCs just to be brave - starting the process of closing out my ddad's pharmacy discount plan and canceling his 'accidental death and dismemberment' policy. (Yes, we kept paying on an A D and D policy for a man who was 95 years old. Possibly not so financially sensible.) Frustrating that the pharmacy discount folks want a fax, and that's an extra step since I have to go out for that, but I'll do it to tie up ends well.

Happily, the A D and D folks say a refund is in order. (This is why families should understand what they are paying for and help next of kin understand, well in advance of a need to know.) My ddad's policy included a spousal something-or-another (who knew) that meant there would have been a percentage of the coverage for my mother as well, even though she wasn't the primary holder. So they shouldn't have been charging the same after her death, but didn't know. (Neither did I.) The lady was very helpful and said if I will send a copy of both death certificates, it looks like they will correct an overcharge of about $140.

Lynlee, I'm delighted to hear you have a quantifiable measurement of healing of the tear. No, it may not be perfectly accurate, but obviously shows something good is going on. I verge on happy puppy dancing for you. It's all I can do to remain still. Gyms are not known for keeping things convenient for their members, that's for sure. But across town? That is a pain.

Nodding at Twin's Mom's lack of bandwidth and mental block, and at Lynlee's wayward brain going awol. Hugs to all who are ready to rebel.
