Re: WEDNESDAY APOLOGIES TO BLESSEDW2
It is fast approaching 11 and I have yet to s2s. Ds is in the shower now so I can't.
Knee is really acting up. Can't walk pain free (normally only stairs bother me.) I've been avoiding exercise for the past few days (back to sedentary according to fitbit) and not progress. I just have to bike but can't make myself. I really hate biking. Not as much as I hate swimming, but pretty close.
Did some creative brainstorming on the sermon while I ate and have a potential arc to work with. Found a great exegesis site last night and have a half dozen ideas to bolster my main outline. Glad I have lots of time to preach this week as this is not a simple parable. One can skip the parable and go to "you can't serve two masters" but that's too simple. I will use that for the children's time - starting with Squirrel!!!! from the movie "Up!" and talking about how hard it is to fight against our nature and so we need to focus on serving God and trust all else will fall into place.

Re: WEDNESDAY APOLOGIES TO BLESSEDW2
♥
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BLESSED!
♥
i feel tired, have the energy of a slug, so hopefully my morning cup of coffee will help with that. DH answered the phone from his Dfriend, who cannot cut wood because he's sick.
He's such a healthy man, too.
Today we gather up trash and take garbage up for pick-up day tomorrow.
I wrote 3 letters yesterday and have 1 to go, but I'm sorta burnt out on writing letters, stories, right now.
I'll try to crochet on dgd's Christmas afghan today.
And work on 3 x 5's, which I keep putting the monthlies off.
I don't know why. I'm trying to figure out if I'll file them behind each calendar card number date, in what order do I want to do it in, and I'm just making it was more complicated that it actually is and don't know why either.
I'm procrastinating terribly.
I have 2 magazines on the coffee table to read, a coupon book to browse through on my end table, my dining room table has crochet on it and a legal pad, etc...
And today's Desk Day for me?
How about making it hot spot patrol day instead?
It's like I'm in a time warp or something. I guess hot spots are most important and then do Desk Day and the garbage after that.
It's only 8:30 a.m. and my morning's not actually started yet anyway.
Once I get s2s, I'll be on the right track.

Re: WEDNESDAY APOLOGIES TO BLESSEDW2
Kathryn did your ds get called into work today? I heard about that car/train accident and I was wondering if he was at work.
I am taking a mental health day off from working at work. I am working at home instead. (Kinda)
Mike has taken his dad for a doctors appointment in Toronto, so I have the place to myself. I keep telling myself it's so I can clean and organize the kitchen. I'll get back to you on that.

Re: WEDNESDAY APOLOGIES TO BLESSEDW2
Cathy we just heard about this an hour ago from dsil. Ds ran and got his phone (it was in the basement and he'd been out running and then upstairs), but he hadn't been called in. His hospital is closest but doesn't have a trauma unit so took only about 1/4 of the injured.
I'm tidying here. I've put the clothes to be donated in the car, the garbage in the can, did the dishes, s2s, and am tidying the kitchen table. Getting my preaching things off made a huge difference and I've got even more off by doing a bit of filing. Ds is impressed, mainly because I'm making progress there without making the rest of the counters worse!
Ivy: congrats on un-slugging!

Re: WEDNESDAY APOLOGIES TO BLESSEDW2
I just looked at the clock and realized it is after noon --- time for a lunch break.
The PT nurse finally called this morning, then when she got here realized she left her BP machine in her other car and had to go fetch it. She was here for about an hour, asking questions, writing and took dh on a short walk up the street.
So, house is neat and clean early. While waiting this morning I gathered a few wayward items and shepherded them back where they belong. This leaves me free, after lunch, to work on my Special Project Cards. Nothing got finished last week, but I have a couple started that can be worked a little at a time.
***Thank you OKay for your answer re:cards. I'm glad the digital system is working for you. I haven't done anything digital simply because I get too sidetracked by other good stuff on internet!
However...I have found a calendar system (maybe even someone here mentioned it??? --- if so, thank you!) I like for basic things. It is called VueMinder, lite-not the paid version. I might try putting more than just family birthdays, appts. etc. on it; a good thing to start with would be the Project cards. The desktop size is there all the time, where I can see it when I turn on computer.
Blessedw2....Happy Birthday Wishes again!
Hope to be back after I accomplish something!

Re: WEDNESDAY APOLOGIES TO BLESSEDW2
Speaking of disasters...
Did I mention that dh went to work Monday morning and couldn't get past security because his paperwork had not been submitted properly by our client? It is a military contractor and he was told it would take 2 weeks for the clearance to come through. This was happening as the Naval Shipyards event was unfolding so we figure everything was shut down tight. Luckily the hotel had meeting space, our client was able to get instant funding for that and dh moved the training to the hotel. He started the class only 2 hours late thanks to the superb actions of the hotel staff who were able to pull it together so quickly.

Re: WEDNESDAY APOLOGIES TO BLESSEDW2
Hope that knee gets better, Kathryn. Mine act up all the time -in particular the right. Thus I am very careful not to put weight on it going up and down steps.
Seems I may only be able to post on this computer a short time longer. When I opened it up just now I realized the battery was down some (it's been reading 100%). Checked the power cord adapter and no light is coming on which means the battery is not recharging.
I tried it in different plugs recognizing that we sometimes lose power to 1 or another. Everything else plugged in to this power strip and the alternate socket I used are working. So....if I disappear again you'll know why. Guess it was a good thing we got a new computer when we did.
Still am wondering if it's my router -the reason for the other computer not to work here -as now it's even telling me on this computer that 'internet has been lost'.
I can't imagine these power cords with the rectangular thing in the middle are cheap. And to top that charger dying, dh's kindle fire that I got him last Valentine's day (2012) bit the dust yesterday. Can't get it to come on or the battery light to even show so probably that battery died as well. Won't be buying a new one anytime soon for sure.
Cardiac rehab went well this morning. Dh had lost 7# since Monday. Next Monday they'll do a print out of his heart beat, etc for dh to take to his cardiologist that afternoon.
Went from there to our financial advisor -reports there were good. At least we're climbing there. Think our return this year was a little over 15% and in this economy guess that's good.
