Favorite day Thursday

“What day is it?”
“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
“My favorite day,” said Pooh.
Today is our favorite day!

Today I'll be cooking and cleaning and doing things around the house - we have eight (including us and the house guest) for dinner tonight and I am trying to rediscover the joy in cooking and entertaining.

Menu:
Cheese plate
Grilled Salmon and Zucchini with roasted red pepper sauce
Seasoned couscous
Challah

Dessert: Apple Clafouti and Fresh fruit

Thinking through today, I haven't done anything except get up and read paper and surf on line a bit...I need to get a grocery list together first. The challah will need to be started early in the day and the apple dessert has to bake also. The oven otherwise won't be used (hurray!) You know, helia does this kind of thing with one hand tied behind her back and I used to - I've just gotten out of the habit. And I do enjoy looking at recipes and getting the house ready for entertaining..

-walk the dogs
-breakfast
-meds, me and ddogs
-grocery list
-get li&t for the day going...I need to get groc, go to vet office, p/u dogs food for moe, what else?

Last night after I told dh I had worked with the sprinkler system, he got wound up and tried to start each zone and this morning it is still running, three hours after it was supposed to start at six a.m.

I need to fly today.

I'm up late because I didn't get lights out until midnight. Sigh.... the music team at the church I'll be at this weekend work in the daytime so only have night for planning. I think most of the music is worked out now. Although given the news, I may change things at the last minute.

The news in unending about the train/bus accident. Both the newscasts and the interviews in between. Most frustrating. I turned off the radio between newscasts and only listened to two of those (national and local.)

Dh reminded me (although I already figured this out) that I'll have to aware of this for the service, especially the prayers. I'm thinking of a lament psalm for the opening and am thus considering we switch the opening hymn to Amazing Grace instead of the lively welcoming hymn I requested.

All this is swirling in my head and I'm sitting here having not had breakfast. I need to be at the church in 35 minutes and my hair is still wet.

Morning y'all
Today is migraine hangover day for me. However I have to be at the dentist by 8.

Twins... I entertained a great deal in the past as well and always enjoyed it. I grew up watching my mom do it and later joined in to help her. Not long ago I had a group of girls over for a champaign dinner. I set the table with my linens, china, silver and crystal. I served an easy but elegant pasta shrimp dinner. The girls said they felt they were eating at the White House.

My mom taught me to serve make ahead meals and plan for the unexpected. I love the preparation time as much as the entertaining even if I am just serving hamburgers. Enjoy your day.

I have a women's event tomorrow night and plan to bring cheese cake cup cakes... Never mad them before but I make cheese cakes so I'm excited to try.....

Need to start my morning ..... Cya'll later

I'm off schedule and find myself s-l-o-w-l-y doing this and/or that. Just kinda drifting. I went looking for a Ten Commandment song to add to LO morning music playlist (his request) and *POOF* time disappeared and here it is 45 minutes later. I must have zoned out! I probably should have waited to select the song until LO was here, but I found one I think he will like, but I'm fairly sure it will not be his Papa's favorite.

Time for me to stop fiddle-faddling around and get started doing what I planned.

In the office at church. Dropped the clothing donation at the firehall on the way here. In the other big news story (which is no longer on the news) a body was found in the fields by the firehall on Monday. It may no longer be news but the investigation continues so there are two dozen police officers doing a detailed search through the ditches beside the main road.

OHH! I found a song that should please both LO and Papa. Success!

Now I REALLY REALLY am going to stop fiddle faddling and get going.
