They're gone and we are back home.

I still hurt all over. And then I start to cry because I know why I hurt.

We gave them lounge passes so it was a quick good-bye at the airport so they'd have the most amount of time in the lounge for breakfast. Dh also gave ds a lounge pass for before his flight to Sydney (which is on Tuesday.)

I'm going through tissues like crazy.

Yesterday was perfect. Dd blogged:

So, uh, just had the most amazing perfect day with my family ever, hanging out around the house and the yard and eating a big family dinner. Which is cool since the house is being sold while my brother is away, so awesome send off. Good on us.

It was a perfect day. The sunrise on the way to the airport this morning was pretty perfect too.

Dh and I will go hiking this afternoon and then fish and chips on the Seaway. We had thought of going to see dd's Godparents because they've found some scarf charms for me (I've been looking all summer and they've been looking for me to and then found them at their local coffee supply store!) But it is 4 hours away and I'm worried I'll cry all the time in both directions. At least at home I can distract myself.

Dh is about to start 12 weeks of intensive work with two solid deadlines so I'll be on my own a lot over the next period of time.

Ds has loaned me his tablet while he's gone so I can see if I like having one. That will be a project to distract me over the next few days.

IIIIKathryn)))) Not trying to interfere with your understandable sadness seeing your DS leave, but I wanted to share with you that a part of me is CELEBRATING a job well done. You raised your son to have the abilities and confidence to have this adventure. Give yourself (and DH) a POTB for being such good parents.

Church this morning. It is my week to be in charge of the nursery (2 year olds and under) so I won't be able to attend the service. I'll pick up the CD of the service and listen to it later.

With the talk yesterday of awards at work for each 5 year increment, here the school system, the hospital and dh's workplace all recognize those yearly at an annual dinner.

Yesterday helia commented about GG being quiet. I started thinking of dd1's dd and I am very thankful she isn't an exchange student. I love her to pieces but she would be someone's worst nightmare for an exchange student if she exhibited her normal loud personality.

Yesterday dd2 and I went to dgs7s ballgame. Dgs9 was on the sidelines, not 20 ft. from us and never made eye contact or came to speak to his mother. They both do this all the time and it always hurts her. As we left yesterday, she told me we weren't going to dgs9s game today. She said that if he thinks she is his mom only half the time, then she will just start going to his games half the time. We will see if she sticks to it today. I told her if she changed her mind to let me know so that I could go too.

Last night I watched the 2 little girls while they went to a birthday party for his oldest db. I was wore out by the time they left.

Yesterday while dh was working on the bugs on the front of the car, I worked on the tar that was on the bottom sides of the car. After we washed it there was still some areas of bugs or tar, so with more elbow grease and bug/tar remover, I was able to get them removed. I still need to vacuum and wipe down the inside. I need to get new floor mats.

Yesterday dh trimmed the boxwoods in the front yard. The boxwoods in the alley by the fence that we cut to the ground are coming back. I need to experiment with the electric trimmer on them and shape them. We plan to keep them under control and short.

I also need to spray the yard for weeds. That stupid bindweed doesn't give up.

Better do meds and have breakfast, I slept too late this am.

Yesterday at the thrift shop it was nuts with all the kids getting
Costumes. This reminds me it is time to get weird clothes out of the closet to donate, even fabric etc. That can be used for costumes.

It is moving day!! Only 156 miles down a known road so no worries today.

We will probably leave about noon sometime as we are Wallycamping tonight and don't like to get there too early. I plan we will get there around 4ish.

It has been downright cold here the last couple nights. Low 50's inside when I wake up and turn on the heater. But where I really feel it is coming back from the shower with a wet head. YUCK!

(((Kathryn))) and (((Ken))), I'm sorry you're so sad. I would be, too. My heart goes out to you, especially today and this upcoming week. ♥

I once had DD living with us, throughout her pregnancy, and then I became my dgrson's daycare person, while they lived with us, for nearly 3 years. DD got a job about 45 miles away, a new apt. would be a single parent on her own, and dgrson would be in a preschool-daycare setting. My heart was so broken, I cried and cried, I prayed and prayed, I did my fair share of emotional eating, too, but somehow, time healed me, but it was a very, very hard road. It's so difficult to "let go; let God," and sometimes, even now, when I have to say good-bye.

I didn't realize there were scarf charms, Kathryn! How are they attached to the scarf? What types of scarves, too, as in material? Silky? Wool? Crocheted, fleece, or knitted? Any type? Oh, I'm so happy I learned something new today! I'm just excited as all get out! I have scarves, so now I'll know (when I find out more information) what to treat myself to, when it's time to treat myself.

Nancy, When we were kids and young parents, we made our own costumes. Once, DD went as a gypsy woman, wearing my mantilla on her head, a long skirt, shawl, etc.. It was so cute. When DD was a baby, I took all the stuffing out of a stuffed elephant, put her inside it and there she was! Adorable!
