Sounds like a scam to me. The phone showed "unknown number and unavailable". For some reason I answered. A woman with a thick foreign accent asked for dh. I said he wasn't home, could I take a message? She wanted to talk about our "Windows computer". I told her we don't have any computers. She quickly hung up. It is scary how many people who are out to scam people instead of doing honest work.

Better go. I need to buy groceries today. I am wanting to stay home tomorrow and clean.

I got a couple of calls I think are scammers something about amazon dot com is mentioned in them. Some sort of meeting and income opportunity, yea right! We do not have an amazon acct.
Do not need one.
I just kept, saying
TAKE US OFF THE LIST please.

I have taken a walk picked up Rx, no car pool today, gotten two front yds. Mowed. I made deviled eggs.

Now it is time to put the sheets back on the bed.

HRH helped me make a grocery list that she'll help me manage to pick up quickly, I hope.

I've gotten directions to the site of the outdoor wedding, which I have always thought of as a rustic setting. I think I begin to understand why the bride and groom changed their minds and wanted to know exactly who would be attending, Nancy. I went to the location's online pages and they ask $45 to $65 per person to allow a wedding there and refuse all but a few caterers, otherwise doing the catering in-house, saying the chef specializes in dishes made from vegetables grown in gardens on the grounds. This sounds like the type of cooking you would need to plate. So I bet you are right - even though this is an outdoor wedding, they expect to seat all the guests at table. A first for me, then, since all the outdoor weddings I've attended have been more informal, with buffet. I am so glad to notice by the weather report that this will be the day before a band of rainstorms hit our area. It looks like they will have sun.

It says, "This will be an outdoor event, with the ceremony taking place on sand. Please dress accordingly." What does that mean for footwear, do you think? Obviously I'm not wearing my eyelet-cutouts, lol, but wouldn't flats be all right? Surely high-topped shoes aren't necessary, but I have absolutely no intention of wearing flip-flips or sandals and spending the rest of the time uncomfortable.

Hi everyone! Once again, I did almost nothing on the house, another migraine last night. I did eat at church, so it was not a low blood sugar thing. I went to Bible study, even though I had not done the homework because of the previous night's migraine. After that, I took the kittens to their new permanent home. (These were recently trapped kittens, not Gravity and Levity, who are still with me). I did get the linen ironed that I will need in art class tonight, and I repaired a kitchen drawer that fell apart when I opened it.

Today, I need to call the doctor about the increase in migraines and get answers for thyroid (low thyroid = migraines in my family). I also need to generate and send some Halloween party invitations. When I get home, I need to set a trap for the remaining kitten.

I would like to borrow Harmony's DH for the weeds in my lawn. The weeds are lower priority than the attic and ceiling work, so it will be a while before I deal with them.

BookSaver: I am so sorry to hear about your cat. It sounds like you made the right decision, though I know it was hard. I sincerely hope that it is an animal organization trapping your outdoor cats. If anyone shows up again with a small neat slice gone from one ear, it is a trap/neuter/release program.

I am thinking about Halloween. The days lost to migraines have put me very behind on my cleaning schedule.

I'm way behind on my to-do's too, Dove. A bit like Harriet's dd15 -why CAN'T I wait until I FEEL like doing it? Uh, because time is running out here and we'll have to be gone in about 4 weeks. Hardly seems possible. Not sure yet just when we'll be able to go as dh still has several weeks of cardiac rehab left unless he starts moving along more rapidly.

Did one lol. Dfriend a few spots down put as a suggestion on her 2014 application -new washers/dryers!! This is run by an outside company and the machines have to be at least 12 or 13 years old. They are constantly 'fixing' the same old problems, which are most likely not fixed at all. See how far that gets...... We can hope. I know I should simply run into town and forget these, but I hate to.

Slept poorly last night and know I have to get up and moving for my Dr appointment in the morning. It's at 9:30. Glad Mr Sunny had a good report too!

Hi - haven't had time to CUOP for a few days, but wanted to post something for Lucylee.

Lucylee and DH - It's baseball playoff time and my Giants aren't in the series this year, but I made my predictions for the World Series anyway. I picked the Atlanta Braves to win - and I hope that makes Mr. Lucylee very happy. He may being going to some of the games this week. Just wanted you to know - Go Braves!

- Moms group was this a.m. I really need to get there earlier. I aim for 8:30, get there at 8:40, and I don't have everything set up by 9:15. Yes, the secretary is often there before me and she helps set up the moms room as she can; she usually needs to make copies, etc.
- After clean up and put away and rummaging through the children's curriculum bin for next week, I got home at 1. I ate lunch and then indulged in a 45 minute nap - b/c I went to bed last night after 12:30.
- phone calls, a couple emails, I picked up GG from school late as she stayed after to take the quiz she missed yesterday a.m. when she went to the hospital with us to see S and R's baby. Dd17 couldn't go back and pick her up since she had a tutoring engagement.
- tidy kitchen; dw is running
- decided on menu for tonight. Went to groc. store. Put everything away.
- brought up garbage and recycling bins and mail and newspaper
- looked up butternut squash recipe

Next:
- look up baby potatoes recipe
- prep squash for oven
- quick tidy of living areas
- bathroom OK?

Dh would like to go visit the baby again tonight. I forgot to get flowers while I was out. . . We gave them a stuffed animal yesterday. Dphysics couple is coming by for dinner tonight. I think they'll go visit the baby with us.

The Emptynesters are moving VERY slowly. Mr. MT is hurting a lot - mostly in his back but some in his chest. The wound on his arm is healing very well. Just 2 little spots with a small scab on it now.

We only traveled 100 miles yesterday and we are going to stay 3 nights. We are at the fairgrounds in Liberal, KS with good electric power.

I'm suffering from some kind of stomach bug. Feel good most of the time and I can eat as I am hungry. Then all of a sudden - out of the blue - I get the ishies. No throwing up - just wish I could. Then I nap and it goes away. Go figure.

I have had to adjust our travel schedule for 100 miles driving about every other day, so he can rest in between. In other words, we are limping home.

Hi Everyone. The day started very bright, no clouds and now it is overcast with high white clouds. I guess it is from the tropical slowly moving northward.

Thank you Dee and Dove for the birthday wishes. I wanted to say to Cathy that it is nice to share a birthday here with her.

I am always relieved when dh gets a good report from a doctor! Today he had his first appointment at P T. I didn't think he would be doing anything except the evaluation, but the therapist worked with him for 1 1/2 hours. He also has homework of 13 different exercises to do. He goes back tomorrow to see how well he has tolerated todays work. I guess I'll have to put together a small notebook or file with the papers we're getting from P T.

((MT & dh)), I'm sorry that you both are not feeling well. Here's hoping you are resting enough and will be feeling better when you get home.

We didn't eat lunch till 4 pm when we came home, so I'm thinking of a light supper of bowl of cereal with fresh peach cut up in it. We have 3 bananas that are very ripe; dh is making banana bread with them.

Had a rough experience in the grocery. Dd had gone to find the bathroom. I was at the middle of an aisle, and from a large group of 2 definitely Spanish-speaking women and several children near the head of the aisle, a little girl playing with her own child's store buggy suddenly looked up in my direction and couldn't see her group (which was right behind her). Panicked, she raced past me. A blond lady behind me saw it, too, but slightly later, so that she wasn't so sure the child had come from that group. She took off after the child, promising to help her. They stopped at the aisle's end-cap, not visible to the aisle any more. I followed and told the lady I would ask the two women on this aisle if this wasn't their child (I just knew she was). But when I did, first in English and then pretty-near-Spanish "nina" with hand signals showing how short the child was and pointing, the women insistently shook their heads and told me clearly in English, no, they had no little girl.

By the time I took this info back, a tall man had joined the blond woman trying to help and others were showing up. I said, "do you think she speaks Spanish?" So I left them as the man tried some "Habla Espanol?s" and went back to the group I'd left, where only the older woman was still there with the children. I asked her, "Habla Espanol?" to which she vigorously said, "no." So I said I was hoping someone could talk to the little girl, who spoke Spanish. She very slowly walked to the end cap and I followed. From the other direction, the younger woman - who had evidently gone around the aisle the other way - was approaching, and telling the blond lady this was her child after all. Then the older admitted it, too! The little girl agreed and went to her mother, clinging to her. Well, the blond lady "took her text" and gave them both a tongue lashing you wouldn't believe, about child abandonment and leaving a child in confusion. Wow. Sigh.

So, moving right along from that experience... ...yuck

Two emails about the estate today. Nothing for me to do about them yet, but they explain more work and decision-making is coming. One phone call asking the date of my ddad's death spooked HRH and he hung up on the man because he wouldn't tell who he was or what entity he represented. I've gotten a letter, too, to which I need to respond.
