FRIDAY FOCUS

Post by DeeClutter »

WHAT is your focus for today?

Mine was....."where are dh's FL keys". Thought perhaps in my purse -not. But lo' and behold they were hanging with the rest of our keys. How sensible.

I've been awake since 3:30. Had about 1/2" of rain so far. Hoping it's not raining in SC where ds-R, ddil & dgs8 are for WKA nationals. Won't see them for another 2 weeks since we'll be gone to PA next weekend (Lancaster).

Have a Dr's appointment in about an hour & a half so have to start prepping for that. Always dread it as I know my BP will be up -always is in the office. Then I have to convince them that it's usually 'normal'. I can feel the nervousness already. Wish I knew how to combat that. So I guess my 'focus' this morning is to feel less nervous.

Off to wash my hair. Have a good day everyone!

And Cathy -never did get back here to wish you a happy birthday. So keep celebrating!

Good morning! I'm tickled that (I think) I have a more low-key day today. Last night, after dinner here with dphysics friends, we went to S and R's home - with flowers (which dh picked up for us) and some cookies - to take turns holding baby J. Even physics friends took a turn! He was especially reticent, but his dwife convinced him in the end. :) S had such a smooth pregnancy and L/D - it seemed to go quickly and she only pushed 6x - and the baby is nursing well already. And her parents are there to help - and R is taking 2? weeks off and she will be receiving meals from the moms group ministry. Besides an easy pregnancy, none of those things happened for me with the first baby. I had no help and dh took 1 week off work. I'm happy that she is so very fortunate - and I'm trying hard not to feel jealous. . . ;)

I'll probably go to WW this a.m., even though I haven't exercised all week and I believe my weight is up. Maybe I'll get in a Tar-jay run too. Then, I'm tutoring at 3, and I need to prep before that. Dd15 is marching tonight; this is homecoming and dd15 has suggested I videotape the performance. I think dh will join me and we'll just go for the halftime show. GG wants to go for the entire game, so we'll drop her off earlier.

We're supposed to get up to 79 today! No rain here - I don't know if there is any in the forecast though. It is a bit gray outside.

Dcleaning lady is coming this morning (eeekkk! I need to straighten up!) and I am blowing off going to services and dinner at temple this evening. DH is out of town and I have to appear at the b'nai mitzvah tomorrow morning - I told the rabbi I need the night off after being "chewed on" by a member on Wednesday evening at what was supposed to be a fun event.

Dh is out of town until Sunday afternoon so I intend to do only "what I want." I need to get some groceries today and I want to make a walk through Michael's. Need to organize myself, as usual.

Good Morning!

My focus for the next couple of hours is to make decision about MPB insurance. We are not happy with our insurance manager. Talking by phone is not bringing any answers. We have a eye-to-eye meeting this morning....which means a 2 hour drive for us. She better bring her "game on" at this meeting or we are going to replace her with someone who cares.

I certainly need focus today.

I'm s2s and have stripped and remade the bed. Had my tea and chocolate too. Wasted time this morning by playing around with the tablet ds left for me. Added a few more apps. It has the same charging plug as my phone so I was able to charge the tablet last night. I had charged it on Sunday but it was dead by yesterday. Duly noted - charging is important.

Am planning my Santa Fe trip.

Cowinkie, check your private messages.

Elizabeth - hang tight. You are the closest SHE and if I'm reading things right, there's a train to you so that makes you a lovely day trip.

The plan is up in the air as to what to do about a car. We need a car for the first weekend, then we don't need one during the meeting, and we'll need one for the second weekend. We are debating me driving the car from Santa Fe to Albuquerque on the Monday, returning the car, taking the train back, then taking a train on Friday morning and picking up another rental car until we fly out on the weekend. That saves us 4 days car rental and $50 in parking at the hotel. Total train fare is less than $50 if I'm reading everything correctly.

I also have a Sunday School lesson and a church service to write today. Not to mention all the other work I've been putting off all week.

Feeling rather happy right now. Just got back from my check up. ALL my labs were very good! My weight was down (a tad but enough that I'm feeling it). BP was a little high 154/62 but then Dr. took it later and it was down -oh that 'white coat syndrome!!' The only thing that could be considered a tad high was my triglycerides and even that wasn't bad. So will work on that. Got my flu shot, Okay. And I'm good to go until next May.

Now have to go find dh and tell him I'm good -because I'm sure he's wondering. Have to get a shower cleaner kit from dd's MH for ddil/ds-A. Also giving them a small stainless covered trash can -just too small for our deck & it'll be perfect for their office or something. Also giving them our small fridge for their rec room. And the big thing is that they'll be taking their pool table out of our storage and putting that in their recovered rec room. The dgks are going to like that.

Dh, DS-A, DGS14, DSGD14, friend of DGS's and DGD18 are all going to the home opener of our local AHL team tonight. I get the night to myself.

Hello everybody.

So far today seems to be going better than yesterday. We had a frog strangler rain yesterday afternoon and there are weird cloud formations today but so far no rain. TS Karen has already passed us except for the bands on the East side, but we may be too far away to get any more.

OKay, I hope your insurance matters are resolved today.
Dee, congratulations on the good dr. report.

I sent off more information on the big project, a couple files that didn't attach properly the first time, and some emails. Got all the mail going in time for pickup also.

Yesterday was pretty stressful. I was out running errands and DH wanted me back to write a payroll check - I didn't know they were coming early - and he was looking for a missing piece of equipment. I did a big search all over, in all the bins, shelves, etc. etc., and got all hot and sweaty and had to start all over with a shower and clean clothes. Went back out again and got MOST of my stuff done but came home when the storm arrived.

Going out now to finish. Getting stuff for the veggie garden.
