Monitoring on Monday

Check in:
* Washed the first batch of dishes that had been soaking.
* Dryer buzzed; Hung up laundry load 1.
* Laundry load 2 is in the dryer.
* Laundry load 3 is in the washer.
* Search mission in DH's mancave for missing dishes. Found some but not all. Gave up because that place is scary! I could make some money by selling tickets to the public to go through as a Halloween House of Horror.
* Put those dishes in soap & water to soak.
* Deleted over a hundred Emails from inbox. (Not admitting to how many are still archived. )
* Sorted through the sewing projects bin, trying to narrow down the list of possibilities for top priority.
* Washed DH's dishes once, decided to put in fresh soap & hot water to soak them again since I don't know how long he had them downstairs. Probably overkill, but his mancave is definitely NOT food safe.
* Found a few online coupons from the dollar store and printed them for shopping tomorrow or Wednesday.

Back from cardiac rehab. Dh asked today how many sessions he has left -he's now done 22 and there are supposed to be 32, but it sounds like he'll be close enough. So we've been monitoring that aspect of our lives. He'll only have about 5 or 6 more. He may decide to go 3 times a week next week & the week after. Can't this week as we leave for Lancaster, PA early Friday morning.

Had a horrible night sleeping. Finally took b enadryl around 11. Then when I thought I might fall asleep something happened with my right 'pinkie' first joint. Don't know when I've had anything so small be so painful. It still is for that matter. Kept me awake a good share of the night. Feel a nap coming on I'm afraid. Going to look for the finger brace very shortly. Sure it's arthritis rearing its ugly head in that joint and am sure that joint will be 'changing'.

Been very rainy so we decided to go H arbor F reight for dh and on to S am's to fill up the gas tank. Dh thought he heard it went up $.14 but it's now down to $3.55 at S ams so they probably said it's gone down not up.

Bunch of us are going south of here to a very popular hamburger place tonight rather than have pot luck. Not many of us left.

Part of the night I was doing a new l&&t in my head for the next 4 weeks. That's all we have left and I know there's lots to be done. Seemed like I couldn't begin to think of when/what had to be done. So since I'm in anyway, I'll work on those l&&ts.

Finished the first draft of the service. Will take that to choir and have the musician pop in the hymns she chose. The lectionary let us down. Sunday is Canadian Thanksgiving and I see that our national church has put in the US Thanksgiving readings. Unfortunately, I've been working with the regular readings for this week (what the US churches are using) and they work just fine for Thanksgiving. If the musician followed the Canadian resource, she'll have picked hymns that don't fit well. Sigh...

I've also had lunch. It is a miserable day here so I find I'm eating too much to compensate. Dh is also having a bad day work-wise so we are both in a 'mood'.

Now it is time for us to sing. That will help raise our moods.

I folded and put away clean laundry and straightened MBR and made myself a lunch sandwich and tracked the pts. Need to get going again...bbl.

It is gray and cold here today, but the leaves are turning so it is nice to have some color in the day anyway.

I told the teacher I was very busy this fall and may not get much translating done. She is very gracious and perfectly OK with that. There are others in the class who are more than happy to jump in and help.

GOOD MORNING or GOOD AFTERNOON depending where you are. Today I am monitoring the things I have ordered and hoping everything gets here before we leave for California a week from tomorrow. Also, wanting to make sure everything is ready for the carpet cleaner this afternoon. I have used this same service for many years and Friday I was all prepared for him at 9 A.M. and he was a no show. This has never happened before. I called his cell and he got back to me very quickly. He was full of apologies, was in Carson City and had completely forgotten to put me in his book. Made a date for this afternoon and he is giving me 30% off! I can do that! (I think he is having a few senior moments himself! )

At noon we are going to a luncheon at the local casino featuring the Nevada Wolf Pack Coach. We have not been to Reno for a Pack game since we moved here but we keep up on all that goes on. He is a new coach this year (Polian is his name). So far he isn't doing too bad. He comes highly recommended. He was an assistant coach at Stanford, working with the 49ers coach Harbaugh when he was there. Anyway, we are football and baseball fans and look forward to something like this. (I think LucyLee does too!) And Sherinjoy too!

Good morning! I've missed y'all!!!

Well… monitoring… as you all know, I am constantly monitoring the shrubbery growth, and the flooring in the master bath, and the wallpaper in the guest bath… but it does no good, b/c dh is NOT monitoring and will not turn loose the time or money to take care of these issues. So this topic makes me grumpy this morning, Harriet.

I feel like Twins. Everything is out of control and I am not making any progress on any of it.

Happy belated anniversary wishes, blessed!!!

Also meant to tell sher, thank you for supporting the Braves with us! I’m afraid they may be in trouble. * sigh * I’m not nearly so much a fan as dh, Norma, but I do keep up with it a lot better than my dsisil, for example. We are going to skip this week’s game, however, b/c ds’s band is playing close by and it is an early game (which would involve earlier wake-up time and much hotter temps, which neither of us enjoy -- plus it is Homecoming, so we are not playing a major SEC opponent.) Of course, dh will make sure he is close to a radio during game time.

Hot temperatures. Good gracious. I think both of us got dehydrated at the music festival. It was unusually hot last week and dh and I were both just totally exhausted. I enjoy the festivals very much, but I just cannot take much of the heat. Then the ballgame Saturday, which was a night, and it was fine by game time, but we “have to” get there at least 2 hours early for pregame stuff, and it was very hot then.

We have had the rain Harriet was speaking of, and today is just picture-book beautiful. Blue, clear skies… slight breeze… cool temps… it is a great day to be out walking. Unfortunately, the only walking I’ll do today will be at Wmart. * sigh *

So far, I have

Now I'm waiting on dh to get ready to go to Wmart.

breaking for 15 minutes here....several phone calls (one regarding a member who was arrested last week) and a phone call from dd, and some frustrating online updating of temple info that I still haven't accomplished.
