FRIDAY FROLIC

Post by DeeClutter »

The Amish have 'frolics' often and since that's where we're headed, Amish Country, just gave Friday that quick name.

Dh has gone to fill a propane tank and then we'll be off. Looks like we'll hit rain through most of NY state. At least dh rain -x'd my windows yesterday.

Stopping for breakfast about 40 minutes from here so waited until the last minute to take my meds. I'm not taking my computer with me as this one is persnickety at best. Though I did have emails from the G eek S quad last night that they've started working on my laptop. Hoping it's relatively 'minor'. Won't matter the hours as I've paid the 3-year guarantee for work. Taking my computer case (chic as Kathryn would say) with me. That way if it's done tomorrow we can stop and pick it up on our way home -just a few miles out of the way coming that way.

Think I'm packed -though it's getting a bit foggy. Don't like that.

Have a good weekend. Glad the 'wedding' question was cleared up, Kathryn. I was trying to find who posted that last night and never did find it.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Dh and I will head to ATL later today and have dinner w ds tonight. The young man in the neighborhood who helped with ddogs during tax season will come by tonight and in the morning and take care of them. I'm not asking him to walk them, but to take them out in yard for some exercise.

And I need to get rolling right now - need to straighten up for dcleaning lady, get out of the house and get dmom to doc to draw blood, and then body work at 1:30. Dh will be getting home about the same time I get home today, I think.

And dh asked me this morning if I could mark all of our sprinklers (we have stakes) for the people who do the aeration and overseeding. Isn't that part of their job?

Dcleaning lady is running late she says. I don't have much to do to straighten up, thankfully.

-meds/vitamins
-straighten the MBR/bath
-clear kitchen table
-check for dcleaning lady
-get dressed and walk ddogs

We are in Columbus, NM at a friend's house. Had a great time catching up last night.

We left our previous RV park by 7:45 as wind was predicted. So that give us time for a long afternoon nap.

Today, we head across the border to Palomas, MX for lunch. It is one of our favorite "across the border" places. Since our friends live here, and we have been there often, the owners treat us almost like family. It is a lot of good food, music and fun. PLUS, I get more "stuff" for decorating the house. Today, I'm going to look for something for the new bathroom.

Good morning!

I have:
x had bfast
x taken ddogs out to potty
x bagged, labelled, and put at the curb give away items for Purple Heart today: 7 bags + a guitar + a wool wall hanging dh brought back from India (and doesn't want anymore - this house has more windows than wall space) + old high chair. We'll be buying a new one eventually for when baby J is here.
x cleaned up muddy paw prints where Maia raced down the stairs and then leapt from the 4th to last step to get to the basement hallway asap. How on earth did the vet expect me to keep her quiet after her surgery??
x a couple emails

I'm skipping WW this morning. I'm at the same weight as last week, according to my scale. I may switch to the Wed. meeting instead. That will open up my Fridays - and also cause me to be more diligent on the weekends.

Next: finish a.m. routine.

Breakfast is done. Researched jellied salad recipes and will make one with orange jello, carrot and mandarins (because on of the boys can't have pineapple.) I haven't got rid of my jellied salad mold which amuses me because I've never made a salad in it! I will this weekend.

My grocery list is growing. I need crushed pineapple, unless I take the chunks and crush them myself.

Well. Before I tell y'all how I'm going to be frolicking today... just let me tell you about how thrilling my Thursday was.
NOT.
The doctor's visit with the new allergy doctor was fine. I had no problem at all finding the place, and got there in 35 minutes, while I had allowed myself an hour. That was good, b/c of course, I had to fill out half a dozen papers as a "new patient." But the doctor was very nice and likable and apparently seems quite content to continue my treatment just as the old doctor was doing.
THEN... home... haircut... dmil... dgbaby. Dgson stayed with us while ds & ddil went to the fair! :P They wanted to go, but felt he was still too small for most of the rides and enjoyment of it all.
DH & I & dgs went to next town for supper... home... ds/ddil came and got dgs, visited for a while... left...
DH found out the newspaper man had brought YESTERDAY'S USAToday.
DH & I go BACK to next town to find a current USAToday. (I've told y'all, dh is OCD & he is totally addicted to his papers.)
Well... this was no small feat. We spent an HOUR looking for a paper. Lots of boxes had signs in them that said "This box is no longer being serviced."
FINALLY... found one inside at a truck stop. I handed the lady the $1.00 in change...
She said, "I have to scan it. It's $2.16."
So. USAToday doubled in price overnight w/no warning.
I went back to the car, got the money, paid the lady, dh asked if I would drive so he could read on the way home.
Fine.
I'm just humming along... no cars on the 4-lane at midnight when... @!$#+()*^%+)($@!#
Yep. I get pulled over.
I am apparently doing 63 in a 45 mph zone. (This 4-lane has been under a lot of road construction lately, but not in the area where I was stopped.)
Driver's license... proof of insurance... police goes back to his car...
And I wait... wait... wait... and I remember --
+($@!#($!@#+()
The girl at CVS this afternoon told me my license was EXPIRED.
Yes.

Did y'all know, if your license is over 30 days expired, they can tow your car in? * sheesh *
Fortunately, he had mercy on me on that point. I was only 2 days past the 30 day limit. But he made dh drive home, and now I have a ticket to pay. I'll have to call and find out how much it is.
I know it was ALL my fault... but * sheesh * )(@!$#(^
Tomorrow is another day.

Today I will be frolicking to the court house to get my license renewed.
* sigh *

Jello mold and jello salad makes me think of my dgm, Kathryn... She almost always had jello salad for lunch on Sundays. Sometimes what you're making... sometimes red w/apples and pecans, maybe grapes... sometimes green w/nuts and probably cream cheese. Good memories...
Tomorrow is another day.
