What is you sense of things this Sunday?
I am thinking of the different kinds of sense and the different kinds of spelling this word too! Like do I have a sense of purpose today?

Yes for me the hens are clucking.
I need to reclaim some more counter space before paint prep. I need to do before winter temps. Arrive.

WIth only one egg in the fridge I'm glad I hear a hen clucking!

I looked up some shows for h. To condiser on net flix I know he missed last season & I used to watch but it was on too late. He is enjoying the 40th wedding ann. Gift. We found new hd channels we get now too.

I've already used a little 'common sense'. Dh was going to church with me, however he took his 'enhanced' fluid pill this morning (he's up 7#) and of course it's beginning to work. Just said, "maybe.....I won't go to church with you".

We had a wonderful trip to Lancaster, PA. Drove out of the way yesterday to have lunch at a Smorgasbord -fantastic. Had a beautiful evening at the Sight & Sound Theater. Their rendition of "Noah" was breathtaking. Especially the scenes that put us in the middle of the Ark. All we could say was, "Wow!"

Had almost 7" of rain down there on Friday, so everything was a mad dash for the car or facility. Dh got drenched fetching our car after dinner.

Lots of people here closing up. Betting that dh won't have to many RVers here after this week. Actually he closes down the bath house/laundry room on the hill Wednesday night.

DD has GD home as of Friday evening. Haven't been able to talk to her yet so not sure how that's going or if gd even knows yet that she's going to a new (much stricter) facility this week. Her new caseworker has said she realizes that gd will most likely not be able to come home at any one point -unless there's a huge/drastic change in her attitude & behaviors. Huge sigh inserted here. BTW, Harriet -your words have been duly noted and I've filed them away for that eventual confrontation. Subject did not come up the other day when I talked with DSisil, but am sure it will -has to.

Our one disappointment in this week's trip to PA was that the colors aren't out yet and probably by the time we leave for FL they'll be done.

Dead on my feet. One service left to do.

Both services ran well over. We started late but I was also over my 60 minutes. No one believed me when I said how late we were. They said it didn't feel long at all. (It was a good sermon, rather pleased with it.)

I love dh so much. He has to listen to the service for a third time this afternoon!

My new mike worked well. But I still have some voice so I won't bother setting it up at the retirement home.

I forgot to put my lunch in the fridge to defrost last night so it is taking forever to get cooked. I have 30 more minutes before I have to leave again. I'd like to lie down for some of that time.

I'm sensing that I'm nearing the end of dgd's afghan, as I'm edging it now in purple scallop.

I'm sensing I need to move more and eat less because the scales were up roughly 4 Lbs. this a.m.

Dee, the day you went to Amish country, I received 2 letters from pen pals who just got back from Amish country! Small world!

Kathryn, I'm glad the microphone worked, I hope you get to eat and rest. Your Sundays sound quite busy.

We have cool sunshine here. I'm very tired and not feeling 100%. Hope more rest will remedy that. Want to finish dgd's afghan so can start of dgs's afghan next. His colors are red, black, and white. Will search my "stash" to see if I've got yellow to blend in with the colors chosen.

This morning church service and meal went smoothly....mostly. Today the guys cooked for the girls as a way to show their appreciation for all we do. The men worked VERY hard to pull it off. They did an outstanding job. They cooked Ribs, brisket, beans, cole slaw, potato salad and hot rolls. The only problem the men had was when they were heating the hot rolls up in the oven......without removing the paper liner. One of the papers caught on fire and filled the kitchen and dining hall full of smoke. The problem was quickly resolved. They opened all the outside doors and set up 1/2 dozen fans to blow the smoke out. All was well by the time the food was served.

The entertainment was watching the kiddo's. A couple dozen goats were brought in to the roping pens. The younger ones (4 - 10 years old) were given the opportunity to rope while the older boys kept the goats corralled and coming through the chute. A couple of the goats escaped and made a run for freedom. They were finally caught almost 2 miles away! Most of the kids finished up sweaty and dirty, but pleased with their effort and ready to do it again. LO loved every moment of it.

Final service done. I took a 10 minute knee-icing, elevation, eyes closed break before heading off to that service. Plus did some physio stretches while waiting for dh to get out the door. No luck, knee hurts as long as I'm moving. I'll have to put my feet up at the musician's house.

I'm coughing more now but that's okay. I have just over 48 hours before I need to work again. Except for grace tonight - I suspect I'll be called up to ask the blessing. I'm getting used to that role, another sign I'm maturing into my calling. I'm still shy but not as much when I'm 'working.'

I've enjoyed reading the kids' activities. I awoke to two updates from ds and then over breakfast caught sight of more photos and an update from dsil. Ds also posted photos, including one of a wallaby going through his backpack in the tent! Better a wallaby than a poisonous spider!!!!

We took 30 minutes to have tea and cookies after church at the retirement home. This time I don't know when I'll see them again but I know I'm not working there at all in November because I wasn't available the dates she offered me.

Once home we started in on making the mashed potatoes. I peeled, dh chopped and I had boiled water on hand so things are going very quickly. Dh is on the last of the 4 pots we did up. We are putting them into a crock pot to keep them warm. I've cut up discs of ice cream for the ice cream sandwiches. Haven't figured out a good way of transporting those yet but the discs are back in the freezer hardening. This is where the bum knee is a bother - they should be in the deep freeze downstairs but I'm not going there!

I do have to get upstairs to change since I'm too warm right now. I'll need a jacket or pants with pockets to hold lozenges and tissues. And more sensible shoes (that's half the knee problem - plus all the standing in heels (1") this morning.

Dh and I both had meetings at temple this a.m. (one meeting was the same, and I had an additional meeting) and afterwards he went to the market (flowers!) and I went to a fabric store. I'd like to rig up some kind of pillow covers for the pillows on the front porch for fall, since I couldn't find orange pillows in stores now.

Got home from there and read the paper and took a long nap and then I sat down here.

pool - nah can't do what I was doing pre PT encounter - though maybe it's also a factor I haven't tried. Needing to make haste slowly to get back into it.
load of washing - all the togs/swimmers/tankinis that I've pretended standing under a shower is the same as washing them gathered and made up with other knitwear and towels into a load.

Lilac - If you are still considering new residence - think about possible room use.
If I looked at an upstairs downstairs townhouse - I'd be looking to see if I could live on the ground floor if ever I had to as stairs were too troublesome.

laughing to Kathryn's ds. I'm glad it wasn't a big kangaroo in his tent. Food secure is a rule here too even without grizzly bears. The thing about the poisoness spiders - you tend not to see them. Watch where you sit is a rule for spiders. Watch where you step the advice for snakes. Big hugs to you for the letting go process.

Done with that round. Dh is making eggs, lox and onions for supper for us.

After we eat:

-get coffee filters out of car and lock the car for night
-walk the ddogs
