Yesterday the thermostat in my office showed 60. Putting on a sweater didn't help, and I reluctantly turned on the furnace. I don't want to run it this early in the year, so I'm trying to convince myself that this is just a test to make sure everything will run when we really do need it later.
I forgot to turn the thermostat back down before bed so it stayed set at 66. I assume the furnace ran overnight but once I finally got to bed, I slept hard. Not long, but well. That's a good thing -- I know I'm still short some hours of sleep.
Today's trend is desk work. Need to finish reports for tonight's meeting. Tonight the sewing group needs to make final decisions for our Quilts of Valor sew-in to take place in less than 2 weeks, and choose dates for next year's activities.
Twins'Mom ~ Thanks for the reminders of tax returns due. Once again, in spite of all good intentions, I have procrastinated in finishing our state tax returns. I just confirmed that Iowa gives an automatic extension until October 31. (They make it easy ... too easy. Maybe if I had to actually file a form to get the extension, my brain would think that's too much trouble and I'd get them done in April with the federal!) I have too much going on this week, so will pull the file back out on Monday just to try getting them finished before the very last second. No promises, though.
I also need to do the library group's Epostcard tax return. Fiscal year ended August 31st so I have more time, but I'd rather get rid of it before the next meeting.
Okay ~ Do LO's boots still fit well enough to have them mended? Maybe he's growing so fast that it's time for new ones anyway. There used to be an excellent shoe/boot repair shop in The Big City. That guy could fix anything. Unfortunately, he retired and it's one of those skills that is difficult to find.
