Helia, WTG on the teaching license. Now if something comes up you have more options.

I saw on Facebook yesterday that MT was home - glad to see her posting today after the glitches.

Just did WW log for the wrap I just had - pesto, artichoke hearts, turkey pepperoni, olives, roasted red bell pepper and goat cheese - wow, it was yummy! (Who knew that 17 pieces of turkey pepperoni is only 2 pts?)

Challah is out of the oven - I need to make a grocery run pretty soon.

Another round before I go to grocery:
-do poop scooping in back yard :?
-water plants
-clean, sweep back patio, spiff it up
-wipe out refrigerator
-10 minute straighten up in laundry room

sherinjoy - Thank you!

Helia - Congratulations! What a good example for your DChildren.

Twins - are you using the low carb/high fiber tortilla wraps? The wrap filling ingredients sound wonderful

I've decided to not fire up the grill today. The wind is over 20MPH and blowing directly into the grill. Tomorrow morning the wind will be less than 10mph and blowing opposite direction, so I'm going to wait.

OKay, this is the Old M isson Carb balance large tortilla - just realized the big one is a whopping 4 points. OTOH I can pack a lot of low point stuff in there!

Going to head to grocery. When I get back, need to cut up brownies, package up salad stuff and get lasagne into the oven. Need to do some car clean up, front porch sweeping and another round in laundry room.

Taking a study break. . .My brain is feeling tired.

Thank you Twins and OK! It took me a while to figure out the congratulations. I guess on the teacher's license? Actually, we should congratulate the state of Illinois' Board of Education since they finally got their system updated and working so I could get this done!! :) I had let my license lapse for. . 20 years. I just today got it reinstated, etc. Maybe I should be congratulated for completing something I'd let drop for 20 years. Is that a record?? ;) Yes, Twins, it may give me more options. My next question will be: do I do the continuing ed required to keep it up to date if it is in an area in which I don't think I'll be working? Or not? But I don't need to answer that yet. . . .

Wow! That turkey pepperoni sounds like a good WW deal, Twins! I use lawash wraps. They're about the size of a med. large tortilla and are 1.5 points each. I can't say they're particularly tasty, and the texture is slightly rubbery, but if I fill them with good stuff, I don't mind.

Off to Hebrew. Song of Deborah. Just read the story of Jael, or Ya-el. Fun story. I have a friend who named her daughter Jael. Why do words that begin with yod in Hebrew end up beginning with a "J" in English? To the best of my knowledge, they're not pronounced in Hebrew with an English "J" sound; maybe they were once? I know those 2 letters are closely related. . .

Helia: As I go through the basement, opening long tucked ago boxes, I might top the 20 year mark for completing something! I did toss a 12 year old 'project' today - something that was in an auction box that I thought might be painted and made into a cute decoration. Instead, it has sat in the work room, rusting for 12 years!

Choir was fun. Thankfully, dh remembered today. I forgot. I worked on my creative room which is more of an unholy mess right now. It is never all that inspiring, but now with things being dumped there to be 'kept' while I'm sorting through other stuff, the room is being over run. It is slow process. Today I spent 10 minutes sharpening coloured pencils and putting together a complete set to send to the thrift store. Obviously, they all should have been tossed but I can't bear to throw out things that might be useful to someone else. I'm letting dd go through all my craft supplies and then what she doesn't use I'll take over to the Sunday School if I think they can use them, or donate to Goodwill.

Watched Hyde Park on the Hudson while I worked. I have three more videos to watch while I work before Thursday.

Hi everyone! I am moving better, my foot still hurts, but walking is much easier. Friday was ladies' Bunco at church. Saturday was cat adoption clinic, rabies shots for Gravity and Levity, crochet, and paperwork delivery. XDH called me to ask if he could drop DD11 off earlier, but there was no way I could get there in time. He never could realize that he needs to give me advance warning of changes to plans or new plans. He never figured it out in our 21 years of marriage, I guess I shouldn't expect him to get it now. So glad he is the other woman's problem now. We did successfully transfer DD, and after dinner (Chinese), I took her and her friend to Chuck E Cheese (expensive!).

Sunday, DD and I made it to Sunday school, which she likes, and church, which she hated and complained the whole time. We ran some errands and got her signed up for a dog training class on Sundays (more expenses). We were supposed to go to a pumpkin patch, but she didn't want to go. Instead we measured her Bitty Twins dolls and generated patterns. Unfortunately, I was under the impression she wanted to sew them, but she expected me to. After she left, I did some ceiling painting. Once that room is painted and put back together, I can put the extra catbox there and get it out of the guest bathroom, very important to the party! I also had a rather aggravating conversation with a friend when I called her about the party. She wants me to 'talk things out' with XDH and the other woman and get 'closure'. I don't think I can depend on them for anything beneficial to myself. I intend to simply remain scrupulously polite and try to give the message that I have class.

My list for tonight:
Get some costume stuff
Groceries
Plan party food
Plan party cleanup
Final coat of paint on ceiling
Update Quicken
Download FlyLady's list for the week
Cook chicken
Use Kathryn's IP address fix

Happy Birthday to Okay!

Thank you to Kathryn for her work in finding a solution to our access problems!

Elizabeth, from the sound of it here you seem quite together and classy about xdh and the other woman.

I have lasagne in oven and ddogs were fed and groceries put away. I filled up the gas tank while I was out to facilitate going to see dsis tomorrow. Also got all the trash out of car, polished up the center console and collected the water bottles for recycling so I'm calling car clean up done.

Next round:
-cut up brownies and arrange on plates
-package up some additions for salad: craisins, walnuts and feta
-empty dishwasher
-brown meat and onions to start chili for myself - this is dh's bowling night
-do another counter clean up......

Wow. Best buy just called and dd's computer is ready. Now I have to figure out how to get it to K-town safely. Probably should pick it up this evening and try to ship it tomorrow.

helia, thanks for clarifying. I was trying to figure out the teaching license TaDa, since I didn't remember reading anything about it. Teaching at certain grade levels? I did know you said there had been a "snafu" in IL. Agreeing that this sounds like something to be proud you have in hand.

lucylee, early childhood development is just so unpredictable that there are many normals! I'd say all families should check hearing, of course, but otherwise delight in the childhood moments. To start moving toward productive back-and-forth conversation with Grandma, delay (yours) may be the ticket. ;) Try to phrase "Grandma will help you" questions so that they require a word of answer before you rush to help. "Do you want a banana, or yogurt?" you might say, with feet firmly planted. "Do you want Grandma to find Elmo, or Woody?" But no matter what happens - go help anyway! Next time he may surprise you with "banana!" before you know he needs you.

Elizabeth, talking it out requires two sides who mutually want to clear the air, and I doubt you have that now. I fear it would disintegrate into terse "words" between you and have the opposite effect of "closure"! If you find a chance to talk calmly about it sometime, that's great. But if she expects you would be getting some kind of apology or hear regrets, I think that's naive.

:D DH finished getting firewood for the year! He got 9 cords to last until or through May or June, depending upon our Spring weather. He's tired, yet relieved this job is over. :P

I got 1 letter in the mail, 1 magazine, and a dfriend of mine sent DH a b-day card. :)

I was just popping in for a quick hello. Oh! The fog went to clouds, it's still cloudy, depressing-looking, so I'm looking forward to someday showers or wind or sunshine!

Am trying to take it easier today, so it's snail mail for me. And reading. I had made a card for laying low days, which I got out, to remind me of things I can do to pamper myself to be good to me. It's a pity that I need a card to tell me how to do that, but I forget to good-to-me things. It should be second nature.

Will slowly put together a mailer for dd and dgrson today/tonight, so ship to them on Wed. :D :D She's been so good to send me books and I've got some small magazines of interest to her she'll enjoy reading. I got 2 cute comics about kids and parents, too, which she'll laugh at.

Have a good moving-around Monday movement day! :D
