Happy Birthday OKay
Best wishes for a great year ahead.

An aside - Danish has the J = yo sound.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OKAY!

I have just now cuop for today.

This morning I was suppose to go to the clothing store that I frequent and be a greeter for 1-2 hours. In exchange, I would receive 50% off anything I purchased today. Everyone else would receive 40% off. I was suppose to go in last week and pick one or two outfits to wear while I was doing that. After messing up my knees, I decided I would just wear some of the new tops that I had purchased and my own slacks. This morning when I put on the slacks, they rubbed my knees. I ended up bandaging them and by the time I removed them, they had cracked and bled again. TMI, sorry. I wanted to cancel but if I agree to do something, I hold up my end of the bargain. When I got there I found a darker pair of gray slacks and tried them on. I wore them and then bought them when I was done. I didn't have to but I really liked the fit, etc. Dd2 came in while I was there and bought 3 sweaters, a pair of slacks and I don't know how many shirts/tops.

Before I left to go to the store, dd2 had called me. For the 4th time in less than 2 weeks, my paper wasn't delivered. As we were talking, dd2 opened her paper. She asked what the ladies name was that bought our house. I told her and she asked if her dhs name was J. I told her, please tell me you aren't looking at the obituaries. Unfortunately she was. It really upset both of us. She was such a nice woman. She had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer in August 2012, after they bought our house and moved in June 2012. She had surgery and went thru chemo. She was able to return to work in January. This summer I had gotten the nicest card from her, telling us how happy they were with the house, etc. I had thought once school starts I would go see them, then I had my dsisil here, yadda, yadda, yadda and I never made it over there. I kept thinking I would call but hadn't. She was 67 and she did the cleaning at the county health dept. She went to work at 4, got off at 1 am and then would be up awhile, so sometimes she didn't get up until 11 or 12. I never knew when to call so I didn't and I really regret that. My dh was equally saddened when I told him. It said that she had died at one of the nursing homes, so I don't know what happened. The memorial service will be at a later date. I have his cell phone # and I need to call him. He called me to tell me when she was diagnosed with the cancer last year. They have a memorial fund set up in her name for the zoo, so that's where I will donate it to, instead of the other choices.

Dh started having trouble with his right shoulder when he got up Saturday morning. It had steadily felt worse, so he made a dr. appt for this afternoon. Since he has full range of motion, she thinks he just pulled it and he is to take 3 ibuprofens every 8 hours with food for 5 days and then as needed. If it's not better in 10 days to 2 weeks, go back.

By the time he was done, it was too late to bother going back to work. We ended up going to WM and M enards. Then decided to eat at the local buffet.

I have a latch hook rug kit, that I started the 2nd week of January, 1979. My dm bought it for me to work on when my dh went out of town to take tests for the job he had applied for. He passed and they flew us to Colorado for an interview, etc. He was offered and accepted the job. One of these days I might actually get it finished. :o

Elizabeth, I can't believe that your friend actually thinks you need to talk to your xdh and the homewrecker, for closure. I think you have handled it with class. I also think that you and your dd are closer without him around. I know of several divorced men that thought the grass was greener on the other side of the fence. Then they married these women who are controlling etc. and they realize that got more than they bargained for. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if your xdh got a taste of that.

Harmony, I really don't know the answer to that but I do know that when dd2 bought this house we really liked it. Dh even asked me why we didn't buy it and I told him because we weren't looking.

Also wanted to say thanks for all your reassurance and tips re: dgs/talking. I feel a little better now.
Posting on phone bc dh is on computer.
Hate this one finger typing.

* whew *
Editing to add -- finally got the computer back.

After getting dmom back into her house -- I think she had gone out the front door and left it locked as she closed it -- and the garage was locked. Vehicles outside the garage were locked. Back door to garage that used to not shut properly has been repaired and was locked. On the plus side, dmom now feels her house is very secure. At least no one will come in without making a HUGE amount of noise.
I kept a key to her SUV, so I could let myself in while she was fairly couch-bound after foot surgery. I have kept it for such times as this. * sigh *

As y'all know, she is also a talker. (We spent about 80 minutes on the phone tonight, OKay, AFTER I had been out there for approx 2 hours this morning.) But I have always been such a talker, much like LO, that I figure it is my turn to try to listen patiently to her. (I know... y'all are really shocked at THAT revelation. ME? A talker? )

Came home, dh had gotten the mail, I wrote check to pay credit card bill, took shower, etc. b/c I had gone to dmom's in yesterday's clothes and no makeup.
Then we went to CVS and got flu shots, then Wmart, then dmil's, then finally home again.
After we ate, dh & I both took naps... and then I started in on the ironing.
SOOO glad THAT is over.
Need to reconcile checkbook statement, but I believe that can wait till morning. I am still really sleepy, and I don't want to be making mistakes I can't figure out when I do that.

Also finished watching all the "special features" on Downton Abbey Season 3 while ironing. I cannot wait till Season 4 starts!!!
Tomorrow is another day.
