Good Morning!

This quote is something I need to remind myself frequently (hourly). It is easy for me to focus on what I didn't get done and just give up trying, This village is good at reminding me to celebrating the small successes and to keep trying.

Good morning, villagers ~
Yesterday morning having coffee with library friend was nice, but I was surprised at how much that break in my routine really messed up the rest of my day. Something about having to be out of the house very early, when that is the time of day that I usually deal with computer tasks, start a load of laundry, do dishes, and organize the rest of the day. Yesterday my friend's invitation was for 8 AM. In order to avoid being late, I didn't turn on the computer, and just had time to shower and wash my hair. Then the whole rest of the day was off balance.

Thus, Thursday Try Again is a very good and timely theme. Thanks, Okay!

Today I really need to push to get caught up on a bunch of projects. Meeting tonight at the library, another boring one, but hopefully I can sneak in some planning with a few people about the upcoming cookbook sale.

One big thing that came from the coffee meeting yesterday was the loan of 3 aprons that will be part of her collection on display at the cookbook sale.

I am totally in love with 1 of them, a child's apron. The fabric is sort of a small abstract bird print. The pocket is in the shape of a red chicken, with a wing outlined in white embroidery thread, and embroidered yellow beak, legs and feet. The tail is 2 pieces of red rickrack.

The other 2 aprons are plainer but still very pretty, with bias tape trim. I'm going to try to get good photos of all 3. If I manage to get decent images, I'll post them in AC&N.

The reason I borrowed them is to take them to the November sewing group meeting, which will be just before the cookbook sale. A little subtle publicity.

It's coffee time :D and then I'll get to work.

Elizabeth ~ If your DD is not able to carry the Halloween boxes into the house, can someone from your animal org do it? Or someone from work? Seems like you do so much to help other people, someone ought to be able to return the favor when you are injured.

Kathryn ~ In DS's campervan, does the front passenger seat recline? I'd be inclined to put the luggage down the center of the bottom bed instead of a person, and take turns sleeping in the seat. The tent option is good, but will use a lot of time to put up and take down.

Wow, quiet morning in the village today! I got in around 10 p.m. last night and slept poorly and I'm even slower than usual getting rolling today. I've been to WW to weigh in and was down - more in H&F, but my jeans are getting looser in the waist and bottom. The main thing I need to do today is to get to dmom's and refill her meds and ck in.

I've been to WW, walked ddogs and that's about it. Might try to sleep again.

Good morning everyone! My morning has not been so hot - my foot hurts, my arm muscles hurt from using crutches, and there are sensitive areas on my skin from the crutches. I am CRANKY CRANKY. However, I have taken an Advil and should be better soon. I am also going to check the web on how to adjust crutches and that should help immensely.

Despite the annoyances in my life right now, I did get stuff done last night: brought in the trash and recycle bins (push, move two steps, repeat), made it to Bible study, made the sewing room cat safe and moved the cat box from the guest bathroom in, cleaned guest bathroom (looks lovely), and LOL. I have two LOLs that need folding and putting away, but that requires so much standing and walking around. Everything took twice as long as expected. Things that I planned on doing that did not get done: pay bills, balance checkbook (haven't gotten statement), clean hallway.

Tonight is art class, which will put me home late, but dinner will be taken care of by Cracker Barrel. The schedule calls for living room pick up, sweep, and mop. I'm afraid that with the pace I am forced to use, there will be much stash and dash into the sewing room. However, since most of the stuff that needs to be picked up goes in the sewing room, that is not a complete disaster. Other essentials are: hallway, MBR, master bath, work on costume, and DD11's room.

Today, I am eating lunch with DD11 and there is also a parent teacher conference.

Okay: Only the left foot is broken. I don't have a cast, just crutches for two weeks, then exercises to do at home.

Booksaver: I do have a friend who is coming at 4:00 on Saturday to help (the party is at 6:30). The people with the animal org are working at one of our big fundraisers this weekend, so are not really available. I was going to do something on Sunday at the fundraiser, but had to cancel due to my foot. Fortunately, someone else was able to step in.

Waving ~~~~~ a quick hello! :)

Home today after a busy day out yesterday. It was easy to cuop for today! I have to change out my summer & winter clothes as the temps finally switched from warm to cool. Also have a birthday gift to wrap, & have to wash the summer comforter that I took off the bed earlier this week.

Hi OKay, I love the quote you posted. I'm saving that one. :)

Hi Bookie, I understand that off balance feeling. I get it often when I come home after being out. It is hard for me to "get back to work" on chores that need to be done. I wish I lived close enough to come to your book sale :) .

Hi Nancy, how cool that you can find instructions on clipping the wings of the hens on u tube! 8-)

Hi Twins, congrats on your looser fitting jeans :) ! Hope you can get a nap in today.

Hi Elizabeth :) ! I missed that you broke your foot -- ouch, ouch! I'm so sorry that happened to you. Enjoy your art class tonight; that sounds fun.

I'm off to wrap, wash & have lunch. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

:D Hello, Everybody! Will do a quick CUOP now. :) Thursday Try Again is so perfect for me! :!: It's a wonderful opener! OKay, you picked a GR8 one! THANK YOU! ♥

Booksaver, I understand your feelings, too. When I'm out for half the day, I come home and home's still here with it's unworked routines, etc... It's hard to catch up again and I feel "off" or outta whack!

Nancy, YouTube is great for instructions on so MANY things! Dson uses it to fix cars, etc... There are craft ideas, organizing ideas, inspirational speeches by famous people and how to fix long hair and on and on.... It's wonderful to go there, too, because I can see Dson/Ddil/grands. :D I'm glad you got instructions for those wings. :)

Twins, So many congratulations to you on the looser jeans. I had to purchase 1 size up at the end of the summer and they're not looser yet. :( All the best of luck and Go-Power on WW, too! :D

Elizabeth, Why didn't they put you in a walking cast? :?: Our Ddil has had them before. Maybe  it had something to do with the type of break you got. How did you break your foot? I'd be cranky, too. :!: I hope it heals quickly for you and you get back to normal soon. You'll have to have a party when you get to stop using crutches! :D

Waving to Dove. Have fun wrapping and everything you need to do today. :)

BTW, Kathryn, Your sequined neckline top was lovely on you. A very attractive style. I loved the neckline and always love black, too. :D

I've had 2 days of stomach pains, not feeling 100%, but everything else is A-OK. No fever or anything. I decided to stop taking a certain OTC pain reliever because when you get into your 60's it can cause stomach bleeding, etc... So I decided to use one, when/if needed, which doesn't have that side effect. I woke at 1:30 a.m. and later at 5 a.m. with feeling like I'd throw up feeling. I got up, had an asthma attack, used my inhaler, and ended up having breakfast and meds early. Went back to bed and slept and slept. Have s2s, dressed, feel so much better, and will DO THURSDAY TRY AGAIN! I'm baby-stepping the day between rest and activity, but believe the worst is over. I'd eaten some sweets, had too many and then ate the skin on some poultry, which made my stomach act up and it serves me right. I took the skin off the next time. DH is fine, had his diabetic drug study labs this a.m. and he's feeling fine, so this is a "improper diet" thing I'm having. Mainly burping a lot after eating, too. :o But burping less now.

Have a GR8 Thursday Try Again! :D I'll be trying again, too. ;)

Hello all! I missed too that Elizabeth broke her foot. I agree with Dove - ouch!! Best wishes for speedy healing.

Congrats on the looser jeans, Twins!! WTG!!

((Ivy))

Kathryn, I so enjoyed your ds' blog! I almost want to subscribe to it myself, except he doesn't know me from Adam. It sounds like their camper van is smaller than the one we drove across NZ. We had one double bed above the drivers and passenger seat. Dh and I slept there. In the back, there was another double bed that pulled out (or something) on top of the table back there. The girls slept there. Then, there was a bench in the middle of the van, which I think was supposed to fold out to become a narrow double, but we didn't bother to fold it out and ds slept on it as a single. We ended up making the bathroom our luggage storage space. We never used it, just used the bathrooms at the camping spots. Dh didn't want to deal with dumping the tank - and we needed the space for luggage anyway.

Today:
x up, s2s, gather things
x Panera - pick up 2 cartons of coffee
x set up moms group
x meet w/ church accountant
x moms group; others cleaned up for me. I forgot to make sure the trash from the kids' room upstairs was taken out. Oops!
x lunch
x my indulgence - for an hour, I lay on the sofa and read and then eventually slept.
x kitchen tidied
x dd18 and GG are home now.

Next:
- start breadmaker
- shrimp out of the freezer
- update laundry
- make MBR bed
- gym? Or, change dd18's sheets?
- pick up dd15 when she calls; she and the other cymbals are working on their costumes for the game tomorrow night after school today. The entire band is going to wear costumes tomorrow night instead of their uniforms. Last night, dd15 used her sewing machine to make monkey ears and tails for all the cymbals; they are going to be the classic monkey with cymbals toys. Dd15 has told us the bass drums are going to be energizer bunnies. . . . Should be fun!

As far as I know, only one friend, Mrs. Physics prof. is coming for dinner tonight. Dh has said that he is cooking, which means he'll make one dish, the pasta dish. I'll make the sides.
