The only thing I've mixed and matched today is my tushie to the seat cushion.

In the newspaper this morning there was a notice about the city closing one lane of traffic on the temple's street and block for retaining wall repairs. I emailed the city - they have not come back and discussed their plans with us as the last communication indicated. This may not be our repair but it sure sounds like it. Other than that I've walked the dog and goofed off a lot.

Trying to crank it up here....
-clear kitchen counters
-straighten GR
-empty the dishwasher
-set up new coffee maker from Tar-jay
-refill meds containers for the week

I mixed the bank run with the 'pick up boxes' run. Dh didn't know we needed boxes this week but we do because we need something to put the items in from the shelves and drawer units dd is taking.

Made up a quick lunch, handled a currency phone call (trying to get money to ds) and have set the timer for choir practice.

HOORAY!!! Dr. visit went fine. He checked DH over and pronounced him good to go. Make appointment in Feb. Since we were able to get free flu shots in NM - he couldn't even do that. Next up routine cardiologist appointment next month.

Ivy - I don't know of any freeway that you can travel in the US (and I've traveled most of them) where you can't stop to eat/stretch/use the washroom. There are rest areas, truck stops, etc. all along the roads. We usually stop several times and we drive a big MH. It is NOT good for anyone our age (and I'm the same age as your DH) to drive straight thru.

We are calling this a day of rest as there is too much breeze to burn weeds. I am going to try to get some laundry done to wave in the breeze and unload some more the the MH.

Editing to add: Twins - they had a camera at the Post Office both times we updated our passports. Then they cut them out at just the right size.

Good morning everyone! The party was a moderate success. Next year, I will be having it on a different weekend and that will help. Sunday, I really wanted to go to church, but DD11 threw a tantrum so bad I had to call XDH. She expects me to help her get dressed on Sundays, and right now, I just can't. Well, she couldn't get her nightgown off and things went downhill after that. I realized that I wanted to go to church, because I have people who care about me there, and I really wanted to talk to someone about the pending layoff. I made DD go to the Trunk or Treat at church even though she did not want to go. Of course, she had a great time and saw one of her favorite people, so that was good.

Saturday, I found out why no one was RSVPing to the party: my phone was completely dead! Had to get a new one.

Cue Hallelujah Chorus LOUD!!! Gravity and Levity (6 month old foster kittens) were adopted Sunday. DD was upset for a while, but then realized we could get more kittens now. However, that will not happen (barring emergencies) until my foot is better.

The house is not completely picked up from the party, I will probably have things in bins in the kitchen until I can move the bins to the shed. DD can carry some of them, but a few are too heavy for her. Tonight, we are having a make up art class because we will not be meeting on Thursday. Then I will need to do some cleanup at home. Right now, I really miss the maids, it takes a long time to mop a floor on crutches and an office chair. I should also do some job search research.

Booksaver: I had help on setting up the party. DD11 was with me on Friday and Saturday and was a big help. Also, a friend and her daughter came early and really got things moving. Another guest got there early and she ended up helping out too.

Harmony: I have a stress fracture on my left foot on the inside about halfway down. It is possible (based on looking at a diagram) that the bone is either a navicular or a medial cuneiform. However, I am not a medical expert and it is also possible that it is neither.

Harriet: I, too, need a fresh start. On my job search.

Elizabeth, my dd had a stress fracture in her foot and just had a boot. Glad the party went ok and that your phone got taken care of!

I finished that round, did the passport form online and printed and called P. O. for an appointment in the a.m. MT, I don't think this one does photos as she told me to bring my photos with the completed form and payment?

I'm getting a mammogram tomorrow at 10 a.m. and will get to P. O. at 11:30 for the appointment.

Also phone call from nursing home re: dsis that sounds like she has ingrown toenails. She's been prescribed an antibiotic and and is to see a podiatrist.

I need to run out and get the photo done next, I think.

Choir is done. Everything we practiced is for when I'm not there, so it was a bit of a waste of time for me, but fun.

Dropped something at the church, gassed up the car and picked up the mail. There was a cheque for me so yay! (Too bad I've already gone to the bank but I can take it tomorrow.)

Since getting home I've done more research on the bank transfer for ds. Also paid his credit card bill. Noted that he's had two charges in Australia so wrote and told him the C$ amounts so he can figure out if the exchange rate is fair. If it is, we might be able to use the credit card to transfer money (prepay it and have him withdraw cash advances there.)

Hello. Helia, I have a mix and match life too! Each day seems to be a focus on one item or another. Today's focus was cooking.

I did some paperwork for DH. Then I began prepping for the meal I have to make and take tomorrow. I didn't realize when I read the recipe how much chopping of stuff there was. The filling for my enchiladas is all made and in the refrigerator. The spanish rice is made. I will put the enchiladas together and bake tomorrow. Glad to have this much done.

I always make lots of food to give away and a pan for us here too. As usual, all my big bowls and biggest pots and pans were out. Cleanup took a while. I've been thinking how a couple holidays ago I bought a new set of SS pots and pans to use... and how many times I've used them for these meals. I don't know how I'd do it without them.

A lot on my calendar in the next couple weeks. I'm struggling to remember it all and keep it all straight. Talked with one lady this afternoon who disagreed with my dates. I will have to double check some of it.

Elizabeth, I hope your foot heals completely with no residual I can tell the weather is turning pain leftover.
