FIRST FRIDAY OF NOVEMBER

Post by DeeClutter »

Indeed it's a whole new month -we can start a whole new whirlwind in the countdown to all the holidays. First I have to get myself to FL............ We have been invited to Bradenton to friends for Thanksgiving. Not sure how that will be received by Dsisil. DD and DSonIL have to go take gd15 out for dinner for a couple of hours. DSisil doesn't even know that gd has been moved to another facility as yet. Dreading that conversation.

Got in our car to go to the fire hall last night for dh to shower. Turned the key & click, click, click. Dh jumped it but is taking it up to the garage to have the battery tested this morning. Rather now than at a rest area or something. Had the same problem back in June & had it tested and it was fine. Haven't had this problem since. I almost really hope they find a problem. I'd feel better.

Got quite a bit of packing done yesterday. Dh even has put our large suitcase in the car. Need to keep at it today. Also need to get my Christmas wrapping done & delivered. Guess I'll just start by pecking away. I've had my meds and next up is breakfast (of sorts). Slim pickins' around here right now.

Dh got all the water lines blown out extra early yesterday. Every year he's managed to tweak the routine a little bit more. He finally got help around 10am. He's coughing now & I'm afraid he has this cold -I'm now on my 14th day.

I'm awake and having my tea and chocolate.

My clothes are packed. Bedding is in a laundry basket. Still need to gather up towels.

Swapped calendars to new month.

Looked through the 52 photos from my son. Almost 1/3 freefalling, 1/3 with the chute deployed, 1/3 other stuff.

Dd wrote asking me to look for her computer cord. Found and packed. Along with a kettle, and a milk bag snip. The snip is in my purse and she is to trade me my library card for it.

Dh is out of the shower so it is my turn.

Thinking of all those with a winter timeline in front of them.

Today I replaced my clothes line. The old wire was breaking. Hoping this new plastic ? one lasts a while. It goes along my back veranda with the remaining line looped back over the yard to the end post. I tied the loop to a rope to the gum tree - I'd love for the gum tree to give up the ghost. It has a big trunk - It had come crashing down right to the edge of the house, and there are suckers keep trying to grow.
Old clothes line wires tossed, and all the tools/ ladder away.
I'm hoping the long bit of line over the yard will be strong enough for the dog running lead to slip along. He is used to being able to only get so far so hopefully he won't test it. I can use it as clothes line if I don't have the dog out.
Washing went out and in today. Fresh cover on my lounge yesterday.
Headachey as my neck is "out". Hoping for an early night tonight.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Kathryn, I take you're headed to dd's new location? With my computer being so messed up I've missed a few points along the way.

Good night to you, LynLee. WTG getting the clothes lines down and new one up. More than I could do, I'm afraid. Of course I haven't used a clothes line since wrecking my left shoulder 18 years ago. Would love to though. I could only do it, if the line was at my waistline. :) Don't think that would work for most things.

Have to take my car up to the garage so they can test it. He had told dh to bring it in this afternoon. Question then was, "What if you need to order a battery?" "Bring it up this morning". It's only at the entrance to the campground so only 2 minutes away.

BBL -have lots to do and lots to stay accountable for.

Good morning! I just looked at kathryn's ds' blog. We drove along the same road and took the same ferry to Daintree, so that was fun to read! We didn't do any crocodile tours, though. And we just looked at the Cape but didn't go down to the beach. We had really hoped to see a cassowary in the park, but no such luck.

Today's Must dos:
- 9:30 to school to move reserved uniforms from one room to the other (long story -- if you remember, which I don't expect, I put the concert reserved uniforms in the marching uniform room so the orchestra could keep their reserved uniforms in the concert uniform room. There isn't space in that room for band and orchestra's reserved uniforms, esp. when we were not supposed to be using racks.)
- a.m. routine
- prep for tutoring
- tutor 3 ~ 5
- email steering comm. We have a date!
- dd18's small group will be here 3:45 ~ 6
- dd18 may need to finish app tonight for local Univ. which may be painful. she is trying to do dual enrollment and still needs to send in her art portfolio, which is a lot of work to put together. This morning, she said she wanted to apply to the art school regular action -- but she has already submitted the application, and it is marked dual enrollment between schools of art and lsa for early action. . . Not sure if they will consider that an early app. for lsa and let her apply for art regular action? Hoping she can find answers. The other Univ. early action app. is due Monday, and she is just sending an art supplement; no art dual major/minor there, I think. . . don't remember.

Today's would like tos:
- update new calendar and hang it up!
- exercise
- progress on other house projects - fridge cleaned out?
- a couple DPCs

Dee, thanks for the early start today! I have lots to do today also.

I need to get ready for cleaning lady, (she's coming later today than usual) go to the Y and work out (apprehensive about that) get to dmom's and to temple tonight. Seems like a lot going on because I've been lovin' the quieter slower days when I haven't had so much happening.

Today is also the day I pledged to myself to get moving again on temple biz. I've been mentally "checked out" of my duties but I'm considering myself back on the job today.

Going to read the newspaper quickly first and drink my coffee.

Happy 'back on the job' day, Twins.

Just took my car up -and now it's raining again! Dh brought me back in the camp truck. On the way back I realized there was a gorgeous double rainbow in the west. Rarely ever see them to the west. Sky is really strange this morning.

Ok, I'm off to start working on Council minutes. Figure that will take me at least 2 hours. Then perhaps I can start making sense out of the mess I've created in here. I will take things to the car (once I get it back) as I get them packed. Then dh can arrange them out there. Some are too heavy for me, though I'll try to redistribute the weight in more containers. Taking some grocery items with me this year -don't usually but I have quite a bit that I would just buy again in FL.

LOL, Dee, I don't know how much time I'll have today to devote to that "job" but getting my mind back into it will be a big start. And there are always emails to answer and little things to get my feet wet again.

-see if I can find a sympathy card for dcleaning lady, whose mom passed away early this week
-clear kitchen counters (a mess, I didn't do clean up after we ate our soup last night)
-straighten GR
-clear kitchen table (also a mess!)
-clear/straighten breakfast bar area

I've been considering moving my computer area from the breakfast bar to a little desk we have in the breakfast area.
-Pros
---could keep papers/computer more out of view
---could fix it up a bit as an office area/drop zone and feel more efficient (I already have stapler, tape, stamp for return addresses, postal stamps etc in desk)
---closer to wireless printer and scanner
---would be less convenient so I might spend less time on the computer
---would be out of view from the front door so more private and I wouldn't be obligated to answer door

-Cons
---would be sitting in lower chair instead of bar stool, at current bar height I can use computer as stand up desk to stay on my feet and ck email or whatever more quickly
---When sitting there I might get sucked into computer more
---would involve moving a bunch of stuff, some accumulated paper that I've stashed on the desk. Baskets with photo albums are also under this desk, would need to find a new home...

In theory, out the door in 10 minutes and on the road. Not likely to happen because we have more to load into the truck and I have to load the car.

Yes, we are off to Waterloo, taking a northern route to avoid wind warnings.

Dh and I are both nervous of the long trip. I'll follow him along the way so we stay together.

See you all later on throughout the day. Our first stop is planned.
