Dee - all small things get hung on clothes stand which is waist height - I started that maybe 2 decades ago when I first had shoulder problems from cleaning gutters from a too short ladder.
I can bring the Veranda line down slightly now - I used be able to unhook it from the posts and it was so loose it was down to my chest. Anything I can put on a hanger goes out on a hanger. I put the pegs on other garments first before I hang them up so I can do it one handed if I can't flap them over the line. Jeans that refuse to stay put I hang from the legs, or over the end of the drying frame so they aren't dragging on the floor. I guess I could put them on hangers too..
Today I had sheets out so mostly it was one armed untangling them to stretch out over the line. Raised left arm Exercise today was trying/ helping to fold the sheet back over itself when dry - as a beginning to folding them. I did unhook the line and drag the sheets to the lowest point to do that.
I often think of you and decide not to fuss about my own shoulder, just encourage it gently. It still aches a little doing nothing, and more under pressure. Certainly it is better since I stopped the forcing it with a stick type exercises. Then it was full on aching always, with more than that at being stretched.
Years ago there was a paraplegic lady in my block of flats / apartments. She hung everything on a drying stand. Including sheets. She had a first floor unit and her SO carried her up and down.

Good morning, villagers ~
Well, I just wasted half an hour looking at winter coats online because I thought I needed a new one. Before clicking the order button, though, I took another look at my old coat in the closet and tried it on. It fits fine (even feels a little loose) and I still like the color and style.

I was reminded that the reason I stopped wearing it before the end of last winter was because both side seams are pulling out and fraying, so it needs to be mended before it gets a lot worse. In order to repair it properly, I should find a place to open up the lining and re-sew the side seams.

Before I try that, though, I think I'll try to find some matching or coordinating fabric strips -- faux suede or fleece, something that doesn't need to be hemmed -- to sew on the outside of the seams. Otherwise, because of the type of fabric on the outside of the coat, it might keep fraying no matter how well I mend it.

Hmm, just occurred to me that if I can figure out the right shape to cut from an overlay fabric, I could try the current style of color blocking the illusion of a slimmer waist.

Lilac ~ DD2 may be commenting that she never should have moved from your house -- but she is forgetting all of the work you and DH had to put into it, including major cleaning. Would she have ever gotten around to doing those renovations while she was living there? Wasn't that part of why she moved? Sure it's easy to want to move back after the problems have been fixed.

Would she have ever gotten around to doing those renovations while she was living there? Wasn't that part of why she moved? Sure it's easy to want to move back after the problems have been fixed.

I looked at photos of our old house online the other day (they're still up at Zillow) and of course it looks beautiful! Emptied, painted and patched, new carpet upstairs....

This time around:
-fold lol in dryer
-straighten MBR/bath
-write sympathy note and find an envelope!
-Move stuff on stairs up to dd's room or crafty room
-breakfast/meds

After this I will walk ddogs, then should s2s and head to dmom's.

BookSaver and Twins, dd2's main motivation on moving from this house is because her XH's wife started teaching at the school across the street. That is where both boys attend school. Their stepmother wanted to be in on everything involving the boys. Then the school secretary became super involved and snoopy where the dd2 was concerned. Dd2 didn't want them watching every move she made, so they moved. At the time I wondered why dd2 was so concerned about something I felt was silly. It's not like she does anything illegal. Now she realizes how stupid that was and what a mistake it was to leave this house over that. Also, after the XH's wife has spent so much time putting dd2 down to anyone at the school who would listen, now she has decided they are all backstabbers and plans to transfer out of that school next year if dgs7 doesn't go there. Dgs9 will be moving to intermediate school. Since dd2 is moving to town, dgs7 will be going to the school in their area. The stepmother plans to transfer to the school dd1 is a school nurse at.

When dd2 moved 2 years ago, it was to a gated subdivision several miles from town. From the gate to dd2's house on the main road it is 1 1/2 miles. Of course, off the main road are other short streets. Dd1 and I both told her that she wouldn't like it out there. Of course, she didn't listen. She soon found out that there are a lot of snoopy, gossipy people out there. Then this summer she heard that there is a group of couples out there who "swing." That did it, she wanted out of there.

I will just be glad for them to be back in town. She makes so many trips to town in a week and uses a lot of gas doing it. Not to mention the time all the trips take. She recently asked me what my water bill was. Her monthly water bill was more than my electric, water, trash and sewer bill combined by $50. They should notice a lot of savings once they are moved and the house is sold.

Well I better finish my grocery list and head out.

Well! After spending an hour looking for notes on my computer from the September Church Council meeting, I finally realized that I was ill that night & didn't go. That meant someone should have sent me the minutes. NOT. I have searched every email possible. Even called the secretary to see if there were notes in my box. Since this was through the period when I had so much trouble with my computer & lost everything, I'm not sure what happened to them.

Did just finish writing the minutes for the October meeting and got them sent off to church. Still have internet today, but I think it gets turned off tomorrow.

Wind is blowing like crazy. I can understand Kathryn trying to avoid the winds -north of us & across the 'pond'.

11:15 & I think I will take dh's last 2 pay checks & deposit them. Paid our electric & septic bills this morning -ouch! Of course dh was home a whole lot more this year.

Battery in our car was toast so am glad we were able to replace it so easily. Haven't got the bill yet, but it shouldn't be too bad. Glad it went now and not 2 days from now. Would have cost us a whole lot more on the road, no doubt.

I'm off -will try to get back later on. Feel good that those notes are done at least.

Don't know if Kathryn is taking highway 7 or highway 9 or some other back roads. I live just south of highway 7 and it was windy here over night.

Cathy: we are doing 7 to the 115 to the 401. Wind is awful for us (I have to hang on and I'm in the PriusV not the truck - dh must have it a lot worse.) No wind warning in effect here but there still is on the 401 so we aren't looking forward to that. Still, where we join doesn't have a warning, just east toward Coburg so we are hoping for the best.

Only been on the road 2.5 hours. Still have at least 3.5 to go. Dh pulled off early for lunch because he needed the break. Only 15 minutes to the next stop (cheap gas) and then we'll go on to a road stop about 40 minutes from dd's.

Well, good morning to everyone. Even though it IS almost 12:30 here...

I'm not making as much progress today as yesterday. Par for the course, I guess. Today's PODA includes high school football game. Dbil is going w/dh & me. I should get my lace up shoes on and try to get motivated for 15 minutes again. That worked pretty well yesterday.
