SAYONARA SATURDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

At least that's what it is for me. Should be on our way by late afternoon.

Glad Kathryn is at their trip's end and they all got rest.

I'm coughing so bad & just want to curl up. I am going to go to the drug store & get my old asthma meds. Try at least. This really feels like hard core asthma. Maybe southern weather will help. Just heated some coffee & will try hot liquid.

Dh is working today. Dcampowner wants them to move everything out of the 'shed' (large one) just down the road from us -2 minute walk. Moving it all to a big barn. Said, "I want to do some work in this building in the spring". Hmmmmm. me thinks he might be planning to put in the long-awaited laundry room there. That will be so nice (if in deed that's the case). That was the long term plan for that building at any rate. Dh didn't ask questions.

Have most things loaded -now all the last minute stuff, vacuum through, do dishes, bag up fridge/freezer stuff to run into DS-A's house, go to dd's MH & bring Christmas gifts over here to wrap (also being taken to DS's house). Hate to do that to ddil as she'll have to find a place to stash it all till Christmas. Can't even take DS-R's things to his house as he, ddil, dgs8 left this morning to go to WI to the Green Bay Packer's/Chicago game on Monday. DDIL is originally from Racine & she, her dsis & her dmom 'own' a share of the Packers (each). DS gave this trip to her for her birthday. He always thinks of the neatest things to give her -and she was very surprised & much appreciative.

Ok, I think I'll shut the computer off and get busy. Evidently I still have internet. May leave this connected to check before we leave -want to make sure they shut it off today.

Hmmm just found an (unopened) bottle of "Mucus relief/cough". Took a dose of that to see if that helps. Hope so. Really do need to get jumping. Dh just called & wants to close up by 12:30. Yikes! I have to be ready by then. Have to go get a key made for DS-A so he can get in our storage unit to get his pool table out this fall. And I HAVE to get those gifts wrapped -maybe I can send this stuff home with him???? Hope so..

Good morning! We (dh, myself, dd15 and GG) went out to a favorite Chinese restaurant on campus last night. Afterward, we then looked around Urban Outfitters, which had caught GG's attention en route to the restaurant. It is not such an expensive store, at least not as pricey as I had thought. We mostly ended up looking through their eclectic collection (say that 5 times fast! LOL!) of books.

After her small group, dd18 headed out to a corn maze with a friend. She got home at 10:30 with 1.5 hours to finish and submit her portfolio. She got it done with 5 minutes to spare. I could feel my blood pressure rising as the minutes ticked by. . . .Dh and I looked at it after she went to bed. She has a nice variety of art pieces - paintings and drawings in a variety of styles, media, and subject matter, metal working (jewelry), and clay. But, her written descriptions on each work of art made it clear that she was not taking this too seriously. I read 4 blurbs, found typos/grammatical errors in all but one. She had an unfinished sentence - no, even an unfinished word in one of them. I was not impressed. I stopped reading the descriptions. Dh is going to talk to her today about the fact that she made an unwise decision to go out with her friend last night. We half hope she doesn't get into the art school after all. . .. . LSA is the important one for her anyway. Raising kids. .. . *sigh* She is a great kid overall, though, gotta admit.

today:
groc. store
- make crock pot of beef bourguignon, triple the recipe
- laundry
- catch up on some things I didn't get to last week
- exercise, maybe a jog? It is gray and drizzly but not too cold. This is not bad weather for jogging, actually. . .
- small group at S and R's house at 5 pm

One of the campers -who was supposed to show up 2 weeks ago to have his RV winterized (and dh never heard from him), just showed up, expecting dh to do it NOW????? Dcampowner will not be happy if dh takes time away from him. Supposedly camper has the RV drained -hopefully it won't take dh long & thankfully had not put his 'tools of the trade' away. Sure he would have told #24 he'd have to just get someone in to do it.

Just turned the furnace off -that way dh can turn off the propane when he comes by & that will be done. Should be able to get by with electric for the rest of the day.

Emptying my freezer & then time to do dishes. Trying to get everything on that north side done so dh can put the slides in when DS-A comes. He needs help lifting the (solid) roofs over the 3 slides on that side so he put the slides in, drop the roofs & fasten them to the side of the RV. This side of the RV -long slide opens to the deck which also has a solid roof the entire length -but it's above the slide and stationary.

Think I'm probably further along than I think -but oh so pooped already! I need some oommpphh! (thanks, Helia)

Good Morning!

I am txt'ing with DGS16 trying to finalize our plans for today. He is not happy that I have some commitments that won't allow us to be totally one-on-one all day. DGS16 wants to do whatever he wants....and me to do it with him. Ahhhh the joys of interacting with teenagers.

Last night the FNG gang was in our home. We ran out of chairs  That has never happened before so I wasn't prepared and didn't have a plan for it. We were only one chair short so I had LO sit in my lap. I need get better prepared for next time. Even though we were crowded, there was such a wonderful caring atmosphere among VDFriends. I treasure that time together.

This morning we are attending a breakfast/auction as our small community raises money for a friend who is in final stages of cancer. This friend is also the grandfather to LO best friend in school so our interaction/relationship with him is frequent. It is important to us to join in this event showing our caring/support of him. It trumps DGS16 desire to hang at the mall with me this morning. It would be good for DGS16 to join in with us, but I can't force him to.

Hello Dear Ladies,

(((Dee)) hope your trip south is pleasant and safe.

Add me to the sore throat group here at the village. Usually when I'm sick I play a game with myself, I tell myself to try going to work and see how I feel at the half-way mark. I usually make it through to the end. Did that yesterday and will do that today too.

Left text messages to DH and sons about what needs to be done at the house. I said for the number of people that live at this house, it should be a lot cleaner.

Back from benefit event. It was PACKED! We parked a couple blocks away. It was so well attended that they were running out of food to serve for breakfast - a good problem to have! I ended up buying a VB weekend type bag at the auction. I had a price in my head what my top bid would be before I started bidding. I won the bidding when I was only 1/2 way to my top bid.....so I donated that $$ in a anonymous donation bucket. Win-Win. I got a new VB bag that I love but would have never paid that much normally for it and our friend was supported.

I noticed Jack (horse) was limping so I called DBro. Jack has a cut above his right front hoof, so DBro gave him a shot to fight off any infection. Hopefully it will heal without any problem.

I finished cleaning up from last night. The kitchen was cleaned up before we went to bed so all I had to do was moving the rest of the furniture back into place.

(((Dee))) I sure do hope your medications DO help you and you get rid of mucous and coughing. It's not fun to be sick, but when you're trying to get out of there and on the road to FL, it's not a good time. The timing's all wrong! I hope you get to feeling better soon and you and your DH can get out of there on time, too. :) :)

(((Nancy))) I'm sorry you're feeling puny, too. :( At least you'll get an extra hour's of sleep to get more rest! :D

(((Sadie))) I'm sorry you have a sore throat, too! :(

(((OKay))), Yes, interacting with teenagers can be a "fun challenge."

Teenagers in my life.... It makes me wonder if I was "weird" when I was a teen or if it was just MY parents! (I think it was a "mix" of hormones, me AND parents.) ;)

Helia, Your post sounds really interesting. As always, it's fun to see what you've been doing. :D You sound so busy! :!:

It's 50* here with a rain & windstorm. :o Hope the power stays put, too. I'm awfully tired, but am waking up with my cup of coffee. :P Am trying my FM med every other night, so wake with the drug hangover every other morning, but must wean off it so there is no FM relapse. Will be nice when I'm off it completely. :)

Have a great trip, Dee and GET WELL SOON! :D Happy Saturday, Everybody! :D
