Movin' Ahead Monday

Soooo ready to be moving ahead but treading water continues..... actually I'm not treading very well. More like slowly sinking into a mire of dealing with sick little one. LO feels lousy and just wants to snuggle. He gets hungry.....begs to eat.....then it won't stay down. I'm not doing any cleaning so the house is slowly sinking into a mire of messiness with me. I guess I must be more tired than I realize since I have not been sleeping at night (cat napping in between LO needs). My brain is kinda dull and not multi-tasking well. This too will pass......... I keep reminding myself the doc said "He should be all better tomorrow"

Yup! LO still has his tonsils. I guess we probably have their removal to look forward to at some point.

Ooohhh... so sorry for LO (AND for you, OKay!!!) I hope this all does pass quickly now that he is on the antibiotics.

I've been moving somewhat, since my normal late awakening. DGS let us sleep just as late as we usually do, and he woke up with such a sweet smile on his face. He had his breakfast and I had mine, and then we went out and walked.
After walking 3 miles (him in the stroller, of course) we spent another 30 minutes or so outside with him walking around, patting things, and me naming them. I think he might have tried to say "truck" for me a few times... but no real breakthroughs yet... He knows what everything is, he just won't discuss it, LOL... and sometimes, another disturbing thing, he seems so determined at whatever he is doing that he just refuses to even respond when we call his name. Just ignores us. BUT -- if he is in another room and we call out, "Where's (dgs)? Where did he go? Where's dgs?" He will come just as fast as his little legs will carry him, laughing out loud, just tickled to death.

I've s2s and he's been happily sitting quietly in his playpen since we came in. We're going to have to go run some errands in a little while.

Turns out I'm going to have him most of the night. (I may have told this yesterday.) Ddil swapped nights at a friend's request, so she is working, and ds and dh won't be home till after midnight. DS will take him home when they get back.

Glad to see Harriet & Dee had a good visit... sending wishes for continued good travel, Dee & Mr. Dee!

Happy to hear Dee and DH had a fun visit with Harriet. And that there are more visits with SHE's planned this Fall with MT, Cowinkie, Kathryn, Norma, and any one else I forgot.

((Okay)) I remember the days of my DS21's younger years with strep and ear infections and tonsillitis. Long nights of throwing up the medicine and food. My DS had ear tubes put in when he was 3 and then his tonsils and adenoids out when he was 5. It is a simple procedure done at an out patient clinic and really reduced his illnesses. And being exposed to all the viruses at school, kids develop immunities and they do grow out of it eventually. I remember the toddler and kindergarten years being the worst. So...hugs and this too shall pass if that is any comfort.

Okay, I can also relate to your DH traveling without you and the "support" system needing to be set up for him. My DH is traveling to New Zealand for 11 days, leaving Nov. 10. He is going with a group from our community, and an expert guide has organized all the travel arrangements. But....DH relys on me for all our travel prep and support when we take a trip, so I have been spending days getting his stuff together. We went shopping for 6 hours yesterday buying him clothes and luggage and accessories needed for travel. I know he'll have a great time once he's on the trip, but getting him out the door is exhausting! Ha,ha. Gotta love him!

Never got to my workout this afternoon. I had a really nice lunch with dfriend the rabbi's wife. Lots to talk about and she is delightful.

Phone call this a.m. from nursing home re: dsis that she had fallen after going out to smoke. Broken skin on one hand. They had told me she had been unsteady on her feet after smoking recently. I am going to make a trip down there on Wed to meet with nursing director, social services, and other staff (interdisciplinary) about her. Several medical concerns. I was considering going this week anyway because next week is busier and I'm losing two days next week to other things.

OKay, I was betting on strep - my ds always threw up when he had it. He had ear tubes and adnoids out but still got strep occasionally. My dd, who had both tonsils and adnoids out has only had strep once, I think.

LucyLee - You are doing amazing well with combining exercise & spending time with others. BWTG! I haven't been walking lately and really do miss it.

Kathryn & I might be the next SHE's to meet. That is suppose to happen in a few days. I'm looking forward to it!

LO is sitting quietly and watching TV. I'm hopeful if he can keep the second dose of antibodies down that it will be enough to get him feeling better. I told LO if he could keep the meds & crackers down until 4pm without getting sick to stomach that he could have a scoop of ice cream. Probably not the best food to give someone with a sensitive stomach but it is what sounds good to him

Hi everyone! I need to move ahead on my JOB SEARCH. I can admit to that now, since I have been informed of RIF on me in January. Tonight, I will research three companies, I already know which ones. I did decide to go to the knit/crochet group Friday. I did not get a spot in the parking lot, but found a close by place. Saturday, I enjoyed sleeping late, eating lunch with a friend (who gave me yarn!), and going to the knit/crochet group at a coffee shop. Then, I went to friends' party, where I ran into XDH and the other woman, and weirdness ensued.

They left very shortly after I arrived. First weirdness: one of my best friends told me that the other woman (once a good friend, who has been hiding from me ever since her marriage to XDH) wants to connect with me again, but was timid about it. I said I would be polite of course and she shouldn't be afraid of talking to me. Next day, real weirdness: I dropped off DD11 and both XDH and OW came out. They asked me if I needed anything while I was on crutches. She offered to grocery shop (not necessary because they have electric carts). XDH is coming by to move my trash and recycle bins to and from the curb. What gives? What do they want? Or is it the situation with her X, who is (according to my XDH) not cooperating about Christmas travels with her son. XDH and I have always arranged DD's travels together at AAA and have not had any problems, maybe her X is making me look good? Or are they after something? Very odd.

Get yarn to match some that was given to me
Reschedule an appointment
DPC to get cat crate
Determine travel dates (very important, due tomorrow)
Call pet sitter (after dates are determined)
Halloween party cleanup (if time)
Dye some yarn (if time)

Sherinjoy - BWTG! Traveling to New Zealand for 10 days is waaaay harder to prepare for then my DH trip. I am always in amazement of those of you who travel frequent and make it look easy. DH is only going few hours away to attend college football game with DSon. They are going a day before the game and meeting up with one of DSon friends from college and his Dad. DH will only be gone for 3 days. LO and I will be doing DH duties while he is gone. I will be GREATLY modifying them and skipping all that can be let slide. DH usually works until 11ish pm at MPB but I can't work that late due to needing to have LO in bed at a reasonable hour on school nights.

Ice cream (1/4 cup) is staying down so I'm hopefully LO is over the worst of it.

I need to start gearing back up and working my way through the mire of messiness. I think I will pretend it is the beginning of the day and start with cards that are assigned the first timeslot of the day.

Just booked the hotel in Medicine Park for Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday is in Tucumcari, then Monday to Thursday nights in Santa Fe. Now to book a hotel for Friday by the airport in Albuquerque.

I'll see OKay at points over the weekend and then Elizabeth and I are hoping to meet up on Wednesday.

Checked the weather and OK will be warmer than here but looks like temps will be the same in Santa Fe. So much for packing sandals! At least I don't have to dig out my sundresses. Looks like there will be lots of sunshine too. Yay!

I took a nap after the walk. Did finish packing the vitamins first. So that's off my to-do list.

OKay, I, too, admire these people who make travel OR moving into a new house, who make it look so easy and they're so organized, too.

LucyLee, I agree with OKay on your exercising and being with others, too. Sometimes it's hard to balance both together and get both done without ignoring the other.

Twins', It's good you had a nice lunch and she was delightful.

I didn't walk yet, but did yoga moves and stretching. Might walk later this evening inside the house up and down long wide halls, until I just get it done. I took a nap though.

Sweetie and I are off to visit with some new people that just moved in up the street. They invited us to visit when they saw us today. Sweetie doesn't want to go...its his anti-social personality kicking in, but I told him he doesn't have a choice. After all look what happened when we met up with Norma and Mr. Guy...Sweetie's new and bestie friend.... Mean aren't I
