How are you tweaking your schedules, plans or methods lately?
Sometimes these can work so well for a long time, but we always need a few tweaks eventually. Children and their schedules almost always mean tweaks, but there are so many other reasons, like family job schedules, pet needs, seasonal changes or just realizing something's not working as well as it used to!
Is anyone tweaking a schedule because of weather changes? Yesterday at my tooth cleaning my hygienist mentioned that her upcoming tweaks will all be about shopping, both in saving money for it through accepting extra works hours, and inserting blocks of time to get it done.
Is anyone adding tweaks to their Basic Weekly Plan to get ready for holidays?

Re: Tuesday Tweaks
Good Morning!
I am constantly tweaking. This morning I finally reached a point that i was willing to admit that I had tried long enough to prove to myself that it just wasn't going to happen. I need to remove 3 cards from my Personal grooming timeslot and move them to later in the day. NO matter how much I wish I could do those 3 cards in that timeslot and no matter how long I keep refining my cards to make them flow easier & efficiently..........the facts are there simple is not enough time to do those 3 cards in that timeslot. Shifting cards is definitely an on-going tweaking process with me.
Last night was another long one with LO. When night time comes it seems like he gets worst - coughing until he gets physically sick. Humidifier is going. We tried twice with cough med, but they didn't stay down long enough to work. It seems sitting in upright position helped LO the most so DH & I tag-teamed to hold/rock LO for hours during the night.
PODA -
** LO care.
** Call doc office to arraign lab slip for my yearly blood work
** Call dentist office to schedule semi-yearly cleaning for me

Re: Tuesday Tweaks
Good morning all! I'm up, have s2s-ed and cleaned up the kitchen - and let the puppy out and back in half a dozen times. Dgirls don't have school today -- b/c of the election?
Not sure. Some schools are polling places here, but they didn't have this day off in the past. Dd15 isn't up yet - and it is her task to feed the dogs. They're pretty quiet right now, thank goodness.
Hmmm..... I think I am always tweaking my schedule b/c it is pretty eclectic and varied. I probably need to be more consistent and steady with my schedule.
My day holds a lot of running around:
- groc. shopping
- vote? only 2 things I'm interested in voting on - but I should to be a good citizen and do that much at least.
- take dd15 to and from a friend's house across town, about 20 minutes one way. Thus, this play date will eat up about 1:20 of my day. Maybe dd18 can do one of the runs. .
- exercise; may go for a jog. It is gray but not too cold. I feel good after being outside in the fresh air.
- copy shop: our printer needs a new ink cartridge or something and dh needs to order it. In the meantime, I need about 200 copies of instructions for care of band concert uniforms for tomorrow. I can fit 2-3 sets of instructions on one page.
- dd15's oboe lesson will take me out and about for 1:35
- need to get a couple items in the mail
- need to figure out how to get GG to a Dr. She has an earwax build up problem and says she can't hear out of one ear.
Girls have requested nachos for dinner. I have never ever made/eaten nachos for a meal. I've found a couple recipes online that include some chili/hamburger meat. I'll throw together a salad too. I am personally planning on eating something else. We can do this tonight b/c dh is out of town.
I just don't think he would go for nachos for dinner. LOL!
Next:
- prep items for the mail
- finish a.m. routine

Re: Tuesday Tweaks
Hi everybody!
It's a beautiful sunny day here. M is still sleeping. so I am doing quiet stuff.
Last night sometime after 10 M decided to rant about all the books I had stacked up on the credenza in the other room. I saw his point. There are 5 soapstone carvings that could be damaged if there was an avalanche.
This morning I am putting all the paperbacks into the cupboard/bookcase where I have all the other paperbacks waiting to be read. Once I read a paperback, it goes to the office where the staff take it, read it and pass it on to each other.
There are also numerous hard cover books to put somewhere. The hospital had 3 racks of books for 25 cents per book. I was there every day for almost 2 weeks. I brought home a LOT of books.
Back I go into the stacks. The problem is that I have to store my books in alpha order. How the heck to people remember what book is where if they don't do that?

Re: Tuesday Tweaks
Good morning, villagers ~
No tweaking for me this week, I'm just trying to keep up and racing from one deadline to another. After this weekend, though, I'll be starting to make all kinds of adjustments to my schedule through the end of the year.
Today my focus is on the sewing group meeting tonight. We have an election for the board officers -- no surprises since we struggled to even get 1 name for each position. Next year I will be treasurer instead of president. That means that starting in January, I'll be able to cut way back on responsibilities for the group. What a relief!
I still need to do the financial report for tonight since the treasurer went to Texas to visit family and while there, fell off her bicycle and dislocated her shoulder.
Also need to write an annual report to recap the year's activities, in the format of a speech that I'm required to give tonight.
Keeping in mind that the annual report also will be printed in the newsletter. And needs to be interesting enough that I don't put them all to sleep before we get to the fun part of the program.
If I can get myself ready and out the door early enough this afternoon, I'll run a few errands in The Big City as long as I'm going there anyway.

Re: Tuesday Tweaks
Need to think about the tweaks I need to make to get going earlier in the a.m.!
Today I need to go work out in the a.m. and in the afternoon get the oil changed and maintenance done on my Honda Pilot in anticipation of trip tomorrow to see and consult re: dsis. I made a li&t last night to help jog my memory today.
Well, I walked off w/o posting this. Have walked ddogs and started a lol. I am going on to the Y to workout; I don't know why I am feeling so resistant to going - probably some uncertainly and shyness.

I am nodding in agreement as it seems like I don't have a "typical" day anymore between eldercare, sistercare and temple.I think I am always tweaking my schedule b/c it is pretty eclectic and varied.

Re: Tuesday Tweaks
I don't know about tweaking, or schedules for that matter! I just always try hard to keep up all the dailies, keep the paperwork tiger caged, and do whatever else I can along the way. Sometimes that's not much.
Felt so good yesterday to get all my errands done and important paperwork chores all done. Sailing away in the new month, the old one closed out and history. I stopped at the library on the way back and brought home a huge stack of books to read in the next few weeks. I can renew them online if I'm getting close to the deadline. Every Sunday I drop off the ones I've read on the way back from church, my trip goes right by the library.
OKay, I'm sorry LO has been so sick. You must really be tired. I don't remember my girls being this sick with strep. Is his immune system compromised for some reason? I surely hope not, maybe it is just his tonsils & allergies.
Going back to my desk for a bit..

Re: Tuesday Tweaks
Mike is up and he's being a whirlwind today.
He was standing in front of his side of the closet and he's pushing the clothes around and he says... "You need to have some sort of a system so you know what you washed already." I told him to take a closer look. Then he saw the hangers and how some of them were backwards. "Oh. Sorry."
He has finally settled down in his chair with the tv on. Now I can get back to work.
Seriously, every room I went into, he followed me to get something or do something or show me what I should do next.
I finally came over here and sat down.

Re: Tuesday Tweaks
LO seems to be about average when compared to his classmates in getting sick - not the worst (there are a couple that is always sick through the winter months) but he isn't the best either (there are a couple who never seem to get sick). When a germ shows up in school, it seems the students pass it around a few times before everyone builds up immunity. I've been told the children who attend daycare when they are small tend to not get sick by the time they are in school because they have already been exposed to the bacteria & flu germs. I don't know if that is true, but it sounds believable.
Trying to stay low keyed today so LO will stay down and rest. Going to switch from working timeslots to focusing on the 4 D's - Duds, Dinner, Desk, Dishes and hopefully can make some progress getting them out of their current deplorable state.

Sheeez - when I don't keep myself on timeline, then my sidetracking abilities zoom to a high level.
What I though I would do.....work on 4 D's
.vs.
What I actually did......
** playing with LO and the markers
** downloading free e-book from Anthony robbins
** researching why Win 8 Kindle app won't open mobi file - then installing Kindle 7 that will work right
** watching analog clock with LO and discussing over and over what time when big hand is pointed on 12, 3, 5, 9 etc
** eating Popsicle with LO
** read on FB that I had won a drawing for local new business opening - txt them back/forth making arraignments to pick up my prize
** emailed school treasure about possible availability of online access to lunch money
