LOL @ the p*nis breath comment... ohhhh yes... dmom said today, maybe we should just enjoy this time before dgs starts talking. ROFLOL....

Pigeon Forge is a resort town right outside Gatlinburg, TN, Ivy. (Near Knoxville, where we are headed tomorrow, actually, for ballgame.) It's just a real tourist-y stop that my dmom LOVES (and dh would HATE HATE HATE). I'm sorta indifferent. I mean, I could enjoy it, if dh and I were there alone, but I don't just HAVE to go there every year. My dmom would love to go every year. I have some friends around her who go 2 or 3 times a year, and it's about a six-hour drive! But aside from all the tourist shops and stuff, of course, being in the Smokey Mountains is the big draw. It's just so pretty up there, especially in the fall of the year.

Dmom doesn't really want to travel w/us when we are on a ballgame or bluegrass festival trip, however, b/c we tend to dry long hours and late hours. Dmom really wants to be in her nice hotel bed at 8:00 pm, probably, certainly before 10:00 pm, and dh doesn't want to stop till at least midnight. If we can leave a game or a show and be home by 2:00 a.m., there is no way dh is going to stay in a hotel and drive the next morning. It's not the $$ of the hotel, it's the fact that he feels he is totally wasting the next day, and his biological clock makes him much more ready to drive at night than in the morning hours. So dmom doesn't want to make this trip with us... BUT... if we had left yesterday, and maybe spent some time at the tourist stops today... and maybe waited till Sunday to come home... yeah... she would probably have wanted to come along. IF she felt like it physically... which is another BIG "if."

Thanks for the cyber hugs, and I hope you feel better soon, too, Ivy. IKWYM about the low-grade fever and feeling so teary and everything. Seems like anytime I run the least bit of fever (which FORTUNATELY is not often) I will just cry at the drop of a hat!

DH is still feeling pretty miserable. Dmil sent him home with a heating pad she thought had massaging action, but it doesn't. He has sharp pain in his left side, kinda under his arm. (Ribs/lungs). He feels sorta like he has the flu, and like he needs to cough, and M usinex has helped, but has been no miracle cure. Will NOT go to doctor. But he said if he didn't feel better tomorrow, he would go to the doctor if he did not feel like going to ballgame. Dmil says it's "pluersy." (sp?)
Tomorrow is another day.

I had pleurisy once, but if your DH is coughing, too, it could be a lung infection, couldn't it? :?: If Musinex is helping a little, it must not be pleurisy. And if your DH goes to the doctor, instead of a ball game, he's REALLY sick. Men don't like going to doctors for things like that, do they, Lucy? I hope he gets better overnight.

A 6-hour drive is a long drive. I can see where you'd want to go, yet not want to go, too. The time your DH loves to drive, agreeing on a bedtime, etc... seems to contradict everybody's individual needs and opinions, sorta.

Who usually wins out? :?: In my case, when dmil was still alive, she pretty much ran the show. DH was an only child.

I still seem to be overly sensitive whereas DH is concerned. I can't hear him, so I say what? when he mumbles because he's a quiet man, then he speaks UP, and I tell him, "You don't have to YELL at me!" Then, he says, "I was telling you so you could HEAR ME!" Then I get upset he yelled at me, when he's NOT yelling at me, but I'm not 100%, so I take it all wrong. I guess I'll hide in my office for a little while longer. ;)

Maybe tomorrow will be better. It's Friday, I read 2 blogs that day, which are a good way to start the last weekday. :D
