Saturday PWYC Friendship

Post by OKay »

Be slow to fall into friendship; but when thou art in, continue firm & constant. -Socrates
How do you explain friendship when you have never met IRL?

DGS16 and I had a txt conversation about that last night. He thinks it a good thing, and not weird. But I could see some confusion in my IRL VDFriends faces, especially those who don't own or use a PC.

All I know is that I feel very blessed for finding this village and am thankful for our friendship.

Sending hugs to the OKays and Ks fromCanada on their time together. I think nonstop talk is the order of the day.
Of course Kathryn & Ken are great company. And I have a feeling OKay is too.
Just begin.

Last night was another short night as I was up with LO several times (3?...4? I lost count). I am soooo ready for LO cough to get better. Poor fella.

This morning I am meeting Kathryn & Ken at nearby wildlife refuge to go on a guided hike. I'm a bit embarrassed because in all of the years I have lived here, I have never used any of the guided tours/hikes. I have spent hundreds of hours at the refuge having picnics and exploring various spots on foot, but have not taken advantage of being guided. I'm looking forward to today because I get to be with Kathryn and Ken. But also on a selfish side, I am also hopefully today experience will get me started on taking advantage of the other guided hikes & tours that are offered through out the year.

Not sure if LO will join us or not. It will depend on his cough when he wakes up.

Have a wonderful time with K&K, Okay. Have no doubt you will! I am quite determined that 2014 will be the year that we finally will be able to meet up -even with us driving northward -it's a gorgeous drive.

I am coughing better as dh would say. Slept a good deal of yesterday & a good night's sleep as well. Did start coughing around 11:30 & went to the chair. Still managed to fall asleep quickly after awaking. Something for me.

Think we're going to make a Walmart 'quick' run. Hate going there on Saturdays. Need to grab a piece of toast first to fortify me for the morning.

Will cuops when I get back.

I liken cyber friendships to penpals. In fact, that's how we explained it last night, as if we'd been emailing back and forth. We didn't bother trying to explain a cyber village for ADD women or internet community (terms I use when I'm explaining it to some people.) Of course, I know way more about OKay than I would if we were just penpals because it is the accumulation of years and years of little comments that connect us rather than monthly or even weekly letters. More like the friendship that has forged over coffee each morning after the kids have headed off to school.

Gotta run, I've got Okay showing up here in a moment.

So glad you are having that time together, Okay & Kathryn. All these little get-togethers are pretty wonderful. Know we certainly were overjoyed with our reunion with Kathryn, HRH & dd15!! Can't wait for the next one.

Just finished breakfast & think I'll ask dh if he wants to make a Wal-run with me. BBL

Morning y'all...

Glad everyone is having fun with their meetup. That's how it is with Norma and me, and our visits last four months :D

We want to add MT in the mix. Added bonus is how well our husbands get along. It doubles the fun because the guys want to hang out as mush as we do. Normally Sweetie tends to keep to himself but you'd never know it when Mr Guy is around. They 'll be here the day after thanksgiving something to be thankful for.

Off to get ready for my girly dinner....
