Good afternoon!

Sounds like a lovely day, OK, Kathryn, and Ken!

It is amazing how quickly the time passes. It is already 3:20, and I don't have much to show for the day so far. I have cleaned up the kitchen, sat down with dh and girls while they ate crepes for bfast, s2s-ed, finally responded to an email from GG's mother, found online recipe for brisket after I couldn't find the recipe I used last time, gone to the groc. store, and put everything away. Dh is at his office. I think he's going to go for a run at 4 pm, and I might join him, if even for a walk. It was sunny earlier today, but now it is quite gray.

It is a football weekend in our town too; NE is here to play us. This mainly means we'll avoid routes that take us by the stadium. Dh is wanting to go down town tonight for dessert and shopping. Hmm.... I'm not sure that is a good idea after all.

I agree that this in an unusual place on the web. I think the average maturity level here is quite high, to be honest. I do need IRL friends, and I wish I could have all of you as IRL friends too. . . . .I've really enjoyed meeting the few of you I have. Dh is still a little skeptical. I think it would help if he could meet some of you IRL. His skepticism is not directed toward you all but toward me, whether I am spending time here when I could be doing something more productive. (He is a very high energy person, quite focused on efficiency and productivity.) Somehow, I think if he met you and put you in the "Helia's friends" category, he might be less skeptical. He doesn't feel skeptical when I meet with and email with my IRL friends.

I'm not on FB so much these days. I don't know, I'm just not sure what people want to hear. My life isn't THAT interesting after all. . .

Next:
- finish a.m. routine: make bed, start laundry
- try to stop snacking so much

Sorry I am out of the loop so much. Often I cannot post on yesterday's thread, or the theme I had for my day was totally off from the one on pwyc post. I know they seem like little things. but they bug me. I guess that my computer should be off before the day day even starts there.
Still I have trouble leaving y'all.
off to church now.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Lynlee, we are interested in you and wherever you are on your timetable. Yes, it probably seems funny to you to read, for instance, that I'm winding down from a long Saturday funeral, etc. at church, when you are off to church on Sunday morning. But I'm sure I'm just fascinating :D and assure you that you are, too!

It's so enjoyable to read the posts today!

I didn't think about FNGang. So sorry LO wasn't always feeling well. Hope Kathryn's back feels well.

Took over for ds at 8:30
HRH and dd took over for me at 9:30
Vital phone call managed on the way
made it to rehearsal of music before 10
held phone up to hear Uncle's voice singing
visitation at 10 - social butterfly imitation
funeral at 11 - Uncle and friends sang well
graveside ended with many happy reunions
got address of my ddad's first cousin
helped her find restroom and back to car
rushed home to take over for HRH
HRH left to be free a while!
changed diaper
rocked to sleep
ds got home exhausted - me, too!

Interesting factoid. Dh wanted to know how close we were to the geographic centre of the lower 48 states. Turns out we are 6 hours driving time south of it but almost exactly at the east/west center.

How close? We'll cross over the line on our way to OKay's tonight. Oh, and she is east of us right now. And less than 25 minutes away.

Finally got all the clothes out of my closet that were either too small or stuff I didn't love. Also finally put all the clothes that are being stored in a "storage" area now have clear suit bags and dress bags on them. The entire bunch of them are covered in an old bed sheet.

Got all of the hard cover books and small, odd sized books put away.

Next up... put away the 2 massive pillows in shams back where they normally get stored. (On top of some albums in the closet in the spare room.)

Why did that take so long to actually get to? Now I have an entire covered bench to cover with other stuff.

Drats. Lost another post.

It wasn't all that important.

I am very glad to be home. Very cold at ballgame. We won. DH is very happy. I'm happy he's happy, but I'm just tired and cold.

(((HUGS))) for Harriet & blessed, and families.
Tomorrow is another day.

As Mike discovered many years ago... we (this board) are real. We do know each other. I probably pay more attention to all of you than I do to my IRL friends. Mike has actually said numerous times... "Ask the She's ..." "Tell the She's"... and Mike hates computers and the internet.

Hung up and put aside a bunch more stuff. I have very neat piles and stacks on the ironing board and the "covered" bench is now covered again. This time with hangers. (We call it the covered bench because it has a leather cushioned top. It is a Lane cedar chest. But we also have another Lane cedar chest with a wooden top.)

Mike has been yakking on the phone for over an hour. To a guy friend.

He was doing the dishes.

I have also picked out all the shoes I need to pack. Just one pair I can't find. They are the Flats sold in stores around here in the nail polish and bubble bath area as something to replace high heels with after a night in heels. So I can easily replace them.

Ken and Kathryn survived an evening in our home! They are such easy comfortable people to be around and fascinating to talk to. I am so very thankful to have this opportunity to met them IRL
